Name: Damien Wilson Tremblay
Nicknames: None he really goes by.
Age: 35
Orientation: Bisexual
Desired Rank/Job: Law Clerk
Powers: Invisibility
Play By: Aidan Turner
The Details
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Dark brown
Any Piercings? None
Any Tattoos? Pawprints on his left hip. They may or may not be Gypsy's puppy paws.
Any Scars? A two inch long one on the bottom of his right foot. It had a run in with a fish hook when he was playing at the beach as a teenager. Clearly it didn’t end well.
General Appearance: During working hours, Damien is perfectly comfortable in dress shirts and pants, and a suit when necessary. He doesn’t mind cleaning up, at least clothing wise. Grooming is another story. He often goes unshaven for a few days, born simply out of a disinterest over being neurotic over it. His curly hair is often left on the longer side, a style he’s kept since he was a teenager.
Outside of work, he still tries to keep slightly stylish. Even if it’s jeans and a t-shirt, they usually look good together, and are some sort of designer label. He had a fondness for leather jackets, though in the winter he tends to bundle up in scarves and peacoats. Apart from the whole ‘I’m not going to shave for three days straight because I can’t be bothered’ thing, he usually gives off a very put together vibe. That isn’t to say he’s incapable of being the definition of a lazy male. He’s very capable of running late and pulling on the nearest, cleanest item of clothing, but it doesn’t happen very often. He tries to stay organized, for his own sanity if nothing else.
His build is more long and wiry than anything else. He isn’t hugely tall, standing just under six feet, but he still has the vaguely gangly look that most teenage males grow out of. He’s relatively thin, with very subtle muscles. Despite not living oceanfront anymore, he still makes the effort to swim when he can.
Personality: If you catch Damien with his friends and coworkers, he appears a very social creature. He’ll happily swap stories and jokes with a group he knows well, and involve himself in conversations with ease. He’s usually well mannered, albeit a bit reserved whenever someone new is introduced into the group. It doesn’t matter if it is a friend of a friend, or just someone new at the office. The well socialized creature goes into hiding, and Damien will become significantly more quiet.
He likes to people watch, especially when groups are involved. It helps him to figure out who might be the safest to get to know, though if he is out with his coworkers for a drink on a Friday evening, he is often prodded and encouraged to make an effort. He’s not unfriendly, just uncertain.
He’s also uncertain in most situations that involve flirting, at least when it’s not being instigated by him. He gets flustered rather easily, and trips over answers to questions. Some people find it endearing, others seem to get irritated with him. Especially if they’ve witnessed just how well he can talk to others. He’s capable of being quite shy at times, and due to his power, is often overlooked, especially in crowds. Most of the time, he’s very okay with this. It almost acts as a security blanket when he’s uncertain. Of course, so do cigarettes. If he’s very nervous, he’ll often disappear outside to soothe his nerves in the only way that seems to work well. He knows it’s a filthy habit, and he’s tried to quit a few times, but it works.
Get to know him well, and he’s a very loyal friend. He can be an excellent shoulder to cry on, even when he doesn’t know how to make it better. He’ll listen to whatever your problems might be. He’ll secret keep, so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. He’ll go out to drink with you on a Friday night just to keep you company. He tries to be a good guy, though he’s sure he doesn’t always come off that way. At least he tries.

- Crocs (they are SO ugly and uncomfortable)
- Relying on cigarettes in stressful situations

- Ridiculous questions about Canada (no, guys, he did not live in an igloo, nor did he have a pet beaver)
- Swimming without something on his feet (usually sandals)

- Elevators (he is convinced it will get stuck, and he’s slightly claustrophobic – great combination)

Strengths:
+ Swimming
+ Fluent in French (Real French, not the Canadian French that his grandparents speak)
+ Navigation (it’s rare he gets lost)
+ Mechanically handy
+ Very loyal and open with those he’s close with
Weaknesses:
- Has a nervous habit of smoking. He was a heavier smoker in his twenties, but has managed to wean himself down to times when he is either stressed or nervous.
- Gets easily flustered when being flirted with
- Very shy with new people
- Heights and enclosed spaces – he’s not a fan of either one
- Impossible to pick an actual argument with. He’d rather walk away than actually engage in any sort of fight, verbal or otherwise.
- Clingy in small spaces. He automatically drifts to the nearest person, regardless of if he knows them or not, until he’s able to escape.
Fears:
- Flying. Has to do to mostly with his dislike of heights. The idea of being in a small space for a long period of time that could potentially crash is not his idea of fun.
- Somewhat claustrophobic. He doesn’t tend to get into a full blown panic very often, but he will get clingy.
- Swimming barefoot in natural bodies of water. Mostly due to the fish hook incident from his teens. He’s not looking for a repeat.
Secret: He is fairly open with those he’s close to, but he tries to keep his claustrophobia under wraps, mostly to save face, but if necessary he’ll tell someone.
He is also terrible for switching to French automatically if he isn’t feeling particularly up to socializing with someone that approaches him in a bar. It’s great until someone knows the darn language.

History
Damien’s heritage is a bit... muddled. Being that he grew up on Salt Spring Island, off the coast of British Columbia, you’d expect his parents and grandparents to have originated relatively close. This isn’t quite the case. His father’s family originated in Montreal, Quebec, loud, and bent on speaking what Damien calls ‘bastardized French’. Not to their faces, of course. But when you know real French, Canadian French is a bit harder to follow.
His mother’s parents are a different story. They emigrated from Puerto Rico not long after marriage, and had their daughter, Audrey, in Montreal.
After his father spent a few years at Hammel for the manifestation of empathy, he met Audrey in University back in Montreal. As people do, they dated, fell in love, and got married. It wasn’t long after that that they decided to move to the west coast of Canada, lured by picturesque views of the ocean, and what looked like a quieter, cleaner place than busy Montreal.
Less than a year after the move to Salt Spring Island, they had their first child. Melissa was a precious little thing, always climbing and curious. Just two years later Damien arrived. Not nearly as social as his sister, he tended to spend most of his time as a small child pressed up against his mother’s side despite Melissa’s constant urging to come and play with her and her friends. As he got older, he would make his own friends, but the process was long and slow. His parents were just relieved to see him socializing without having to be pointed in the direction of kids his own age.
By the time he was thirteen, he had a close circle of friends, and spent every waking moment he could with them, usually at the beach. Unfortunately for him, the fun ended when he was running through the shallow surf and managed to have his foot impaled by an abandoned fish hook. While telling his parents and the subsequent hospital visit was bad enough, what happened the day after was... well, shocking. At least for him. Damien had been sulking in his room, wishing he could disappear. His sister had been teasing him about the incident, and he couldn’t go out to play with his friends.
He really did disappear. Not that he realized it. Not until he’d hobbled to the kitchen for a drink and asked his sister where she’d taken the milk.
It became apparent that she could hear but not see him fairly quickly. Both siblings panicked, and when he finally reappeared, Damien never wanted to wish for being invisible ever again.
He’d wanted to keep the incident quiet from his parents, but Melissa had other ideas. The moment their father returned home from work, she spilled the whole thing to him. Thankfully, being meta himself, Patrick wasn’t too concerned. He just assured his son that he was special, and that soon the same school he had been to would come for him. Sure enough, a recruiter showed up a week later.
To him, who was so used to sun and surf, Vermont was weird. He wasn’t a big fan of it when he first started at Hammel, nor was he a fan of all the new people he was faced with. It was way too much, too fast, and he spent much of his first month in his dorm whenever he could.
Eventually he settled into the routine, grateful for powers training more than anything else. It wasn’t fun going invisible in the middle of class, or when out in town.
Upon graduation, he had a choice. His grades were good enough to get into University, if he wanted to. He just had to figure out if he wanted to go back home and attend school in Vancouver, or stay and go to the University of Vermont. Initially, he chose to go back home. His sister had never been as academically inclined, choosing the more free lifestyle the island seemed to promote. It was full of artists and musicians, so she did what so many of the people out there did and started painting. Damien had other ideas. The rest of his family had so fully embraced the hippie-esque lifestyle Salt Spring seemed to offer. Not him. He actually wanted to learn and find a good job. He had interest in law, though he knew he’d never cut it as a real lawyer. So, he applied to school in Vancouver.
While there, he met a charming young woman named Christine. She too had grown up on Salt Spring Island, and displayed the unavoidable free spirit so many seemed to. At first he’d been perplexed by her. He’d grown up not entirely sure of his orientation, given that he’d ‘liked’ both genders, but there was no question that he was attracted to Christine. He eventually gathered the courage to ask her out, and they dated for years.
It was near the end of his final year of school that he proposed talking about the future. Once he found a job, he was more than ready to settle down and have a family. She had other ideas. She wanted to travel, and see the world. There would be no settling down for her for quite some time. Somewhat broken hearted, he finished his schooling, and found a job in Vancouver. The effort was half hearted at best. He really didn’t want to go back to the island, no matter how much he liked being near the ocean. After slugging through a few years at a firm in Vancouver, he decided he needed a change. He started looking at jobs in Vermont with the local law firms. He was hired on by Janice Adams, and relocated without much for second thoughts. He’d wanted a change, and he’d found it.
He’s worked for Janice for a few years now, and he tolerates her constant teasing. It took some time to warm up to her, but he has, and works well for her. He’s got no idea what his future holds now, but he’s happy to keep with the norm for now. Working, sleeping, and doing it all over again.
Roleplay Example
Once upon a time there was a Damien. He was ridiculously shy and smoked when he knew he shouldn’t. The end.
