Procrastination Station[OPEN]

Noam had quite a bit of homework to do.

But he didn't want to do any of it. Homework was boring, and Noam was a guy of action. Homework required sitting down and doing mindless tasks, and Noam hated doing things like that. Flying was his thing- he wasn't an intellectual for a reason. Nor did he ever want to be an intellectual, sitting around and talking or studying just seemed boring.

Noam hummed a song under his breath, fidgeting while lounging on a couch. He was bored, and a bored Noam plus anything never produced a good outcome. He felt like flying- but he was feeling far too lazy to get off his butt and float. Plus, the couch was really, really comfortable.

AJ had no idea if he had any homework to do.

Actually, if he thought hard about it he could probably list all the assignments that were piled up on his desk back in his room. But right now he had more important things on his mind. The first of which was remembering where the heck he'd left the remote control to his helicopter. The night before it had suddenly taken flight, scaring the heck out of AJ and making him wonder if his room was filled with ghosts.

In the morning light however he had realized that the control was missing. And where ever it was, someone was probably hitting all the buttons. So he'd started his grand search.

He'd looked in all the trees he'd been up the last few days, by the swimming pool, in the back of the cafeteria by the freezers, and even under the bed in Jared's room. And so far he hadn't found it. He was starting to worry that he wouldn't. Maybe his room was really haunted after all.

Rushing into the student lounge, he started pulling up all of the couch cushions. "It has to be here somewhere...," he muttered to himself as he dashed from couch to couch. "I really don't want to have to tell the ghosts they can't play with my toys at night." He started to lift the next cushion before realizing there was someone lying on the couch.

"Oh...Hi..." he said, looking up at the older boy with his hand still half under the cushion. "Do you know anything about exorcisms?"

Noah stared at AJ.

The request was odd. In his few years at Hammel, Alex had been asked of plenty weird things, but never had he been asked about exorcisms. He'd heard about them, sure, but had never really believed that demons existed. How could they exist, anyways? There wasn't any scientific proof to back it up, nor did his mother acknowledge their existence, therefore Noam refused to believe they existed. This happened to be one of the few things Noam sided with his parents on.

Thinking carefully(for once), Noam hatched a plan. Why not just say yes, trick the kid, and then be able to show off? The thing that Noam loved doing more than anything else was showing off. It gave him some sort of pleasure that he'd never been able to find anywhere else. And this most definitely was a good place to do so.

"Yeah, a bit," he lied, smirking.

AJ recognized that stare. He got it a lot from the other students at Hammel. And some of the staff members. Still, he had yet to decipher the meaning of it. He had started to assume that most people got that look because they actually planned out what they were going to say. Which seemed pointless to the young boy. Life moved way too fast to spend half of your time thinking about how to word things.

“Really?” AJ said, springing up from the ground. “Cuz I’m pretty sure my room’s haunted.” Technically AJ was still hoping for another explanation, but if the older boy really knew what he was doing maybe he could help AJ solve his problem now. And now was always better than later.

“Think you could help me out?” AJ asked, his expression hopeful.

"Haunted, eh?" Noam pondered. "I may be able to help." He gave AJ a smirk, and stood up. He hoped he could just BS his way out of things, which would be easy- and he was good at taking the easy way out. It'd also hopefully avoid an enemy, which he really could make by lying to this kid. Not that he really cared, though.

"Have you talked to your roommates?" he suggested. "Have they said anything about it? Show me, I can help..." although, he really couldn't. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid if he believed that his room was haunted. "What makes you think so, anyways, dude?"

AJ was so glad to have found someone so willing to help him. Of course he immediately assumed that Noam was one hundred percent qualified for this type of situation. Things were looking up.

"Yup, haunted," AJ said, grinning. Other kids might have been a little worried about the idea of a ghost inhabiting their dorm room and stealing their stuff, but at the moment AJ was a little blinded by the fact that he was sure the older boy would be able to help him out. Also, he wasn't one to be scared of ghost, especially during a bright sunny day.

"My roommates?" AJ asked. "Well, not really. I wouldn't want to worry them." Really the idea had never occurred to him. Besides, he was usually whizzing in and out of his room too fast to have much of a conversation with them.

"Well you see," AJ explained as he led the older boy back to his room. "I have this really awesome remote control helicopter. And it flies all over the place. Without me telling it to. I mean without me telling the remote control to tell it to. If I could find the remote control that is." And clearly ghosts were the most obvious explanation.
