General Appearance:
Bailey is rather tall for her age and a slim girl. She probably even is a bit on the underweight side with her weight. She doesn’t have an ounce of fat where none should belong, neither does she have muscles to make up for it. She doesn’t show much feminine curves yet, as her breasts only begun to develop in the last year. It already can be seen that she is going to blossom into a beautiful young woman one day. Bailey has a small birth mark on the back of her right shoulder.
The more than shoulder-length beautiful copper-red hair framing her face is the first thing people notice when they meet her. She usually wears her light curled hair either open or braided. The hair color goes very well with her brown eyes and her light skin. Bailey has a bright and friendly smile.
Personality:
Bailey is well Bailey. She has learned early that the only person she really can depend on is herself. It’s not that Bailey can’t and doesn’t want to trust someone, it just takes a while till she lets someone getting close to her. Inside she yearns to make friends or even have a family. However since her mother abandoned her a few months after her fourth birthday she fears to get abandoned and left alone again. Thus she is keeping other people on distance so that it won’t hurt her so much when she has to leave them.
On the outside she is friendly to everyone and generally people consider her to be shy. Which is not entirely true as she prefers to rather keep her own company than having to get personal and talk about herself. On the other side, when she decides that it’s necessary she can speak up for her self. That doesn’t happen very often as she as learned during the years in children’s homes that it’s better to not draw any attention to her.
Bailey hasn’t lost her optimism yet and takes each day the way it comes; she has stopped worrying about the future years ago. There aren’t many people if at all who know the real Bailey, the one that shows up when she is really relaxed and in an environment she totally trusts. Only then she opens up and the cheerful and high-spirited part of Bailey emerges, one that loves to have fun, to laugh and fool around.

History
Bailey has been born July 4th in a small suburban hospital in North California. Her mother is Gloria Summers and her father is unknown. Her earliest memory is travelling with her mother in a camper through America. They never stayed long at the same place, every few weeks they would change the city, sometimes they would stay a little longer when a mother had a particular (rich) lover. Bailey doesn’t remember much from that time, only that she had been a happy girl then and that her mother had always there for her.
It had been a night like usual, her mother had tucked her into the bed before leaving the hotelroom, saying that she would be back in the morning. Only that this night her mother didn’t return. The hotel staff found her in the room when they came to clean the room shortly before midday. The police got called and they started looking for her mother. Despite their best efforts they didn’t find her, they only things they learned that her mother had been talking to a stranger in a bar for about an hour. The barkeeper told the police that Gloria had been very thoughtful after he had left and that she left the bar after having had a few additional drinks. That was the last time Gloria Summers had been knowingly seen by someone. The only sign of life of Baileys mother since then was a letter sent to the Hotel she last stayed, explaining that she couldn’t look after her daughter anymore and containing a medallion.
Bailey got placed in a children’s home. For the next few years Bailey waited for her mother to return, crying each night silently in the bed, hopping that her mother would return in the next morning, but she never came back. It took her a long time to realize that her mother never would come back. They years passed and Bailey started school, where she found in Maria a real friend. For sometime Bailey was sort of happy again, but after her 2nd year in school her children’s home got closed for renovation and she had to again. The girls promised to write each other but after a few letters the time between the next replay got longer and longer and then they stopped writing. Bailey got placed in another children’s home for a about a year before she had to move to another home again.
In these years Bailey didn’t make any new friends, as she knew that she wouldn’t stay long with them anyway. She started to spend her time alone, learning at school or staying outside as often and as long as she could. When she couldn’t she either preferred to craft something with her hands or read a book. Life in the children’s homes was dull, of course there were other kids around; they got fed and had a place to sleep, but not much more. Sometime between her tenth and eleventh birthday Bailey finally gave up the hope to see her mother again, acknowledging to herself that she’d never have a family again. Bailey withdrew even more from her surroundings, keeping only her own company as often as possible. From time to time some social worker tried to open her up, but they all failed, as Bailey knew that they wouldn’t stay around forever and she didn’t want it to hurt when they had to part. Bailey’s twelfth birthday passed and things didn’t change much until one remarkable day in March.
Bailey dreamed a sort of weird dream about the girl who sleeps in the bed next to her. The dream is unusual clear and Bailey is a bit irritated but then dismisses it, after all it had just been a dream, hadn’t it? Until she has a similar dream the next night, and the following night again. Things got even stranger when Hannah told her during lunch break the dreams she had about Bailey in the last three nights and Bailey realized that they must somehow have shared their dreams. When she gets back from school she got called to the children's home supervisor's office were two officials from a school called Hammel were waiting for her. They explained to Bailey that she has a talent for astral projection and that their school will help her learn control her newfound abilities. They insisted that they start driving back to Hammel the same day and an hour later Bailey left the children's home with her bag without looking back. They stayed at a motel overnight and arrived at Hammel in the next morning.
Roleplay Example
The day didn’t start well for Bailey, she woke up during the night after having again a weird dream about Hannah, the girl who has the bed next to her in the dorm. Bailey didn’t fall asleep for about an hour. Being tired she stayed in bed as long as possible in the morning and was unsurprisingly late for breakfast. She only managed to drink a glass of milk before having to leave the children’s home for school. Without breakfast, Bailey was grumpy all morning, not that there was someone who would notice it, but that didn’t made the morning more endurable for her. Lunch wasn’t much better, while she got something edible to eat; it was impossible to tell what it was without reading menu. Suddenly Hannah sat down at the other side of the table interrupted her usual solitude. “Hello Hannah”, Bailey said without looking about from the book she was reading while eating and waited for what Hannah had to say. Bailey nearly chocked when Hannah told her about the dreams she had had in the last few nights. They were the same as hers, which did irritate her. It was impossible for two people to have the same dreams a few nights in a row, wasn’t it? She managed to hide her astonishment: “That’s really strange, I’m sure it is all just a coincidence!” Bailey hopped that it really was a coincidence, as she didn’t want to end up in a madhouse. The rest of the school day passed even slower, with Bailey having a lot of time during the lessons to think about her and Hannah’s weird dreams.
Like usual, Bailey took her time to get back to the children’s home, taking an extra long way to get there. She needed time to think and the fresh air helped her to get her head clear. Her thoughts had been spinning around in her head since lunch. Why did she have the same dreams as someone else? Bailey didn’t think that it had been her dreams, she never would dream about Justin Bieber while Hannah had the wall above her bed full with posters about him. It must have been Hannah’s dreams. What was happening with her? She finally got back to the children’s home a few minutes after curfew and her hopes that no one would notice got crashed at the entrance. A member of the staff was waiting, informing her that the supervisor was waiting for her in the office since half an hour. Not good, not good at all, Bailey thought while she walked towards the office.
