She has a tendency to get annoyed very easily because of it and gets disoriented sometimes if the weather is going to continue being the same, her visions will show her rain while she’s looking at rain. She has limited control over when she has visions, if she’s really focused she can keep them away or she can force one to come but most of the time they come as they please and tell her useful and sometimes not so useful information.

General Appearance:
Idalia is of average height and build. She is a little on the tall side but not overly so. She has long brown hair that cascades in waves down her back, when she lets it. She’s much more likely to have it pulled back away from her face. Her eyes are sharp and focused thanks to contact lenses, otherwise she would need glasses. Occasionally she’ll wander around with glasses but usually not in public unless something happened. She has a slender but athletic frame. She is often judged by her appearance as being meek and weak but as an avid rower she has quite a few muscles hiding under her skin and a tendency to have hands rough as a man’s.

She is a fan of casual dress, jeans and a top with sneakers. When in the workplace though she is to be found in slacks or a skirt, heels and a blouse. As far as body art goes she had her wits about her when she got her tattoo. Her ears are the only part of her pierced and she wanted a tattoo but needed it to be hidden. For her graduation from undergraduate she got a hurricane tattooed on her shoulder symbolizing her strength and determination and her profession. It is a simple black sketch of a storm but against her lightly tanned skin it stands out rather nicely.

Personality:
Idalia is an independent woman and she likes it that way. She is a big advocate of women’s rights and striving to show that she is just as capable as her peers. As a woman in science she knows how to put her foot down and tell people how things are going to go and so she comes off as being blunt and often unsympathetic to excuses. As a researcher and a teacher she is ruthless, she demands the best. This personality has also influences her personal life as well. She is highly opinionated, though she will pause enough for breath to let someone get their opinion heard. When Idalia gets something in her head she is like a freight train. When she hits an interesting topic at work she often times forgets to eat or call people, which makes keeping friends hard. She cares deeply for the people she knows but often times just forgets to call, often meaning to and then getting distracted. She is the queen of absentminded actions to the point where one thought will block out everything else, even if someone is talking to her.

Idalia is filled with a strong curiosity and that comes out in her research. She tends to accidentally spend more time in the office than she does at home. And needless to say due to her independent workaholic nature it has made relationships hard and she tends to write them off before they begin because they don’t fit into her ability to look out for herself and make sure that she goes forward in her career. Idalia has a need to stand out, perhaps that come from being in a large family but she craves recognition but at the same time loathes the attention. She lives a rather solitary existence but loves people. When friends go out she loves it and she is the life of the party but then there are times when she doesn’t want to be around anyone. She’ll sit around and pretend she’s busy so that she doesn’t have to deal with people. It is pleasant for a little while but Idalia gets lonely very easily she just puts on a brave face because she thinks that will be how her life will go.

History

Idalia was born the fourth child of ten to Rhea and Vasile Tsavaris. Rhea and Vasile met in Pilot Ridge where Rhea went to the local high school and Vasile Hammel. It wasn’t love at first sight but love it was. And Rhea found that she didn’t care that Vasile was a meta human. Rhea and Vasile had their first child, Rio, when Rhea was in her senior year, Vasile having already graduated and halfway through his first year of pre-med tried to talk Rhea out of it but she graduated high school had her baby and got a job so that he could continue school. Rhea found a good job in Pilot Ridge cooking at Hammel and she loved bringing Rio into work with her. Rhea and Vasile got married shortly after Vasile’s second year of college and Rhea, who loved children wanted nothing more than a bunch of children and to stay home with them. However due to monetary shortage and Vasile’s growing student loans she couldn’t stop working.

Rhea’s only days off from cooking were to take maternity leave for her children and by the time Vasile finally graduated from medical school he found himself with four little girls and another on the way. He jumped into work moving the family to a high scale hospital in New York where someone with biological manipulation would be extremely useful. Rhea filled the children’s lives finally finding the time and ability to stay home with her children. Vasile always hoping for a son allowed the family to grow. When Idalia was just a little girl her sister Rio started to get a power manifested. Isolade was next. Rebecca and Idalia it seemed were going to remain baseline.

Then strangely Idalia started having the strangest dreams. First she dreamed it was raining and the next day it was pouring. Idalia didn’t think much of it, after all it was just a dream. It wasn’t until the Hammel recruiter came to their house to talk to Idalia that she realized it was a meta power. At first the man told her she had precognition that she could see the future and she was so excited. Rebecca became so jealous that her younger sibling had a power that she became a shut in for a little while. It was when Aliana also obtained a power that Rhea and Vasile discussed it and decided to move closer to Pilot Ridge where Vasile could work at the hospital a little over a half hour away. It turned out that the twins Lenna and Jenna also obtained powers but Rebecca, Naira, Tressa and Vivian were powerless.

Going to school with Rio and Isolade was hard for Idalia because Rio was a shining star, the cheerleader the person who was literally glowing all the time. Isolade could turn into a cougar, what was cooler than that? And after it became clear that Idalia’s power was limited to weather and thought she could control and call the visions, more or less, with ease by the time of her graduation it still seemed rather, useless. Even when Idalia had made a name for herself in the science department Aliana came along and her little sister even had the power to control fire. It simply wasn’t fair. She was glad to have graduated with her semi-useless power under control.

It was then that tragedy struck the Tsavaris family. Rio, who had traveled to New York to pursue an acting career became the victim of a car accident. Rio had been driving and the person driving the other car had also died along with the one other passenger. Isolade, who had always been extremely close with Rio was furious that there was no justice to be served for her sister and she changed into a cougar and decided to live off on her own. The Tsavaris family gets the occasional letter from Isolade letting them know that she is safe and well, living with her animal kin. This marred but did not stop Idalia’s pursuit of higher education and as if to make up for both Rio and Isolade she strove to do better. Idalia flung herself into her studies moving through college with ease and graduating top of her Meteorology class. Even though her power would have made a forecasting job easy for Idalia she wanted to do more. She flew through her masters and Ph.D at MIT.

Having traveled all over the United States for various opportunities to study at various universities and see different things Idalia found that she missed her family dearly. After returning to Vermont she first went to the university looking for a wanting to be close to her parents and family. Fresh out of graduate school the NWS in Vermont was quick to offer her a high paying forecasting job. Idalia who really wanted to do more was able to negotiate her contract to where she would forecast and also do research involving forecast improvements. She could use her skills in two ways observe the way the weather changed and verify with her power. Centered just outside of Pilot Ridge Idalia lives in the smaller town in a small apartment. Her loneliness grew and so she decided that getting a dog was in order. She looked around and finally found a Great Dane puppy at a shelter and couldn’t say no. She is a workaholic and it was hard but Ike has become her constant companion. She loved coming home and going from being Dr. Idalia Tsavaris Chief Meteorologist and Researcher responsible for the forecasts of the surrounding area, to being mamma Ida playmate and taker of walks.

Roleplay Example

The alarm went off and it was quickly followed by a tongue to the face. “Ike,” Idalia groaned and pushed the dog away. She smacked her hand over her alarm and propped herself up on her elbow and regarded the happy dog with blurry eyes. “Ugh, alright, alright.” She flopped back and rubbed her eyes. The next thing she knew the alarm went off a second time. With a sigh of resignation Idalia smacked it again and sat herself upright before she could fall back asleep. She patted Ike’s head as he wagged his tail and put his paw on her leg. Standing she swayed her way to the bathroom. When she emerged she stretched her arms into the sky wearing a pair of shorts and a loose tee shirt. She flipped her head upside down and gathered her hair into a tail at the top of her head.

“Alright, let’s go!” She said brightly much more awake after moving. She leaned down on her knees her eyes shining as the dog bounced about urging her to go faster. She walked out of the bedroom and grabbed a quick drink of water. She attached her old sturdy ipod to her arm and started in on her favorite playlist. She hummed along and swayed to the music. She went into the closet and found the leash and after a minor fight with the squirmy Ike she finally fastened it to his collar. She dropped the leash as she went on the sudden search for her keys. Ike ran to the door and then back to her and back to the door. He started to whine. She shushed him quickly and grabbed her lanyard from where it was sticking out of a pile of papers. She scrambled to stall the avalanche of papers and finally with her keys in hadn she was ready.

A minor chase to grab hold of the leash again and they were out the door. Idalia shivered a little in the cool morning air and smiled as she looked in the direction of the rising sun. Idalia yelped a little and laughed as her wonderful dog dragged her down the stairs of their small apartment and started pulling her along. She pulled back, Ike knew better than that. But he had so much energy. She wished he would share it sometimes. Idalia considered running but really there was nothing more in the world she loathed more than running. So she walked at a brisk pace with her large puppy and guard dog at her side.
