Forrest & Skye Cheng
Sixteen | Uncertain | Students | Gestalt Pair | Derps | Performing Arts | Single
The Cheng twins are, as you probably already guessed, a gestalt pair. As like many twins, they are very mischievous and have a knack for getting into trouble, and love pranking people. Skye (the blonde) is a bit more adventurous than Forrest (his darker-haired brother), but they both thirst for new things to try and do, even if they are very easily spooked and are more likely to run screaming from anything slightly scary. They love film-making and dancing, and can almost always be seen with a video camera in at least one of their hands. They are very curious, and also very gullible, and often exaggerate anything and everything that they do, which is why they are also great at theater.
While they can be a bit irritating and slightly creepy as all gestalts tend to be, they are very social, friendly individuals are are likely to have several friends that they like to hang out with, especially if they are into performing arts as well. Forrest might be more likely to have more studious friends, while Skye likes the more daring kind, but they are slowly becoming more like the other, so if you're a friend with one twin, you're likely friends with the other as well.
However, they are also likely to get on some people's nerves, as they do like to pull pranks on unsuspecting people and can be a nuisance in general. Some teachers may cringe whenever the two are coming their way, so they may make enemies out of the more serious-type folk. They don't mean any harm though, they're just having fun!
They have yet to experience any sort of love life, but are ready to start giving things a try. They're not certain yet how romance would work with the two of them, or if they are more interested in girls, or boys, or both, so they're willing to try anything and everything. They can be very bold around people they think are hot. Bring on the crushes and flirtations!

Yue Bik Chun
Seventeen | Heterosexual | Student | Athletic | Competive | Taken
Yue Chun, known by many as Little Mantis, is a very aggressive 16-year old athlete at Hammel. Known for her ferocity and competitive nature, she may, at first glance, seem very intimidating and cold, even though she stands at only 5'1" and weighs little over a hundred pounds. However, once you get past her hard exterior, Yue is an extremely loyal, fun friend, and is a great motivator for anyone who is trying to reach a goal. She also despises gender roles, and often dresses up as a boy just to mess with people. Her ability is not all that glamorous - caterpillar manifestation. She can create caterpillars in her hair. Yeah, that's really it.
When it comes to friends, she is most likely to be close to people who are on the track team, or at least athletic. However, anyone that can get past her initial intense personality could definitely become friends with her, as long as they can put up with her competitive spirit and playful nature. She's pretty social for the most part, but only considers those she's been through some sort of trials with as her real friends.
Yue doesn't necessarily have enemies, per say, but she has many, many rivals. Anyone she competes against in any sport are more than likely to see the cold, unforgiving side of Yue. When she's in the game, she only has one goal, and that is to win. Anyone that gets in her way has only themselves to blame for anything that might happen to them.
A love life is something that Yue hasn't really experienced yet, and she's fine with that fact. While she wouldn't be entirely against dating, it would have to be with someone that likes her for her tomboyish, competitive, aggressive nature; anyone that tried to change her would quickly be kicked out and forgotten. Right now she's seeing Junpei, and doesn't see herself being interested in anyone else anytime soon.

Kodiak "Kodi" Oubre
Seventeen | Homosexual | Student | Dentokinesis | Partier | Troubled | Single
Kodi is usually one of two things when you meet him: either a crazy, hyped up partier with a thirst for getting in trouble and breaking rules, or a snarky, cruel, dismissive jerk. Depending on the atmosphere, it could be either. He's not a pleasant person in general, especially to the opposite sex, though he could think of many other reasons not to like anyone. He lives for thrills to make him feel alive; enjoys horror movies; and loves showing off his ability, dentokinesis, by warping his or others' teeth into various shapes and sizes. Brought up in a very conservative, religious, anti-meta home, he is still desperate to break free from his parents' brainwashed upbringing for him and actually accept himself for who he is, because most of his reasons for lashing out at people stem from his own self-hatred and loneliness.
Friends are probably not all that common for Kodi. He has people he likes to party and drink with, but he isn't so sure about being around people just to hang out and talk about things. He doesn't really know how; he was always a sort of outcast, growing up in the majorly-white populations in the south, and is secretly afraid of rejection, so he usually does it first and only keeps people around if they're benefiting him in some way.
He's much, much more likely to have people that hate him. He's very brash with his words, sharp with his tongue, and judgmental, and could not care less if he hurts someone's feelings or not. Girls in specific are prone to his cruelty; he gets a high from tearing them down, though he is also a little intimidated by them... Not that he would ever admit it.
As probably expected, he loves bedding boys, and boys only. He does have a type, though - he doesn't go for just anyone. They need to be able to put up with his roughhousing and bruising; if not, he's not likely to show interest. Deep down, he does crave for some sort of relationship to make him feel less terrible about himself as a person, but right now he's much too proud and demanding to show any of that sort of weakness.

River Tseung
Seventeen | Dunnosexual (Loves everyone) | Student | Melodic Animal Manipulation | Ray of Sunshine | Musician | Single
River Tseung is probably one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet. Kind, caring, and with a habit of handing out candy to anyone who seems to be having a bad day, this 17-year-old knows how to get on people's good side. He doesn't do it for pride or glory, though; he just likes making people happy. He plays violin in the school band, runs track, and generally gets around a lot because he is a little social butterfly. Cute animals are his weakness, and if you have a pet of any kind, he will likely start talking three octaves higher and ask to interact with it. His ability is melodic animal manipulation, and so if he starts humming and your pet seems to respond in a strange way... That's why.
Because of his social nature, River definitely has many friends, both inside and outside of Hammel. He can often be found running around town on his own little adventures, or exploring Hammel grounds for critters to practice his ability on. Even if you are a stranger, he will treat you like he's known you forever.
Enemies are virtually unheard of for River. Even if someone doesn't like him, he still still act as though they are friends, because he doesn't see the point of hatred or dislike. Everyone is different, and he respects everyone's opinions, even if they contrast his own. The only thing he has absolutely no tolerance for is animal cruelty - it would probably be the only way to get on his bad side.
As for a love life, River has avoided anything really serious when it comes to romance. He likes girls of all shapes, sizes, and colors, and enjoys spending time with them, but he's nervous to commit to any one person for fear of getting hurt, or accidentally hurting someone. His natural tendency to compliment people and try to make others feel good could definitely make him the target of someone's eyes, but he's also content being in the friend zone for the time being, until he finds someone he really feels he could be with and not get hurt.

Phoenix Tang
Eighteen | Homosexual | Student | Pixie Wings/Hallucinogenic Dust | Changed | Meek | Taken
Phoenix is a troubled sort of guy. With a past history of drug abuse, and a current addiction to his own hallucinogenic dust, he tends to see the world a lot differently than most. He has trouble distinguishing illusions from reality sometimes, so don't be surprised if he seems to be focused on something that isn't there. He has a pair of pixie-like wings as well, which he thinks are rather stupid-looking but do allow him to fly short distances. When not spacing out, he can be found people watching, sketching, or slouching around downtown, trying to keep himself entertained.
While he tends to be a snarky, apathetic jerk, it's possible he does have a few friends that can put up with his less-than-ideal behavior. He does have a softer side, deep down, but it would take a lot to reach that part of him, as he really just doesn't care about a lot of things. Otherwise, he probably just mostly has acquaintances that he hangs out with on occasion whenever he gets bored or needs something to laugh at.
Enemies are much more likely for Phen. He's not afraid to speak his mind, often in cruel ways, and has certainly hurt people with his sharp words and dirty looks. He has little motivation to do anything other than let the world go by, so most people probably just think he's a bit sad and pathetic, even if he doesn't realize it.
As for romance, Phoenix does try to get around as much as he can. He's only had one relationship in the past where he really felt something for his partner, and their breakup completely shattered him and helped push him into abusing his ability. So, he flirts with guys and girls alike, and is totally welcome to casual hookups as long as the person isn't expecting anything else. One day, someone might be able to break through and get some sense into him,but for now, all he's looking for is the physical stuff to fill the void that his Rue left and that person is Oriel Vanguard.

Takchawee "Tak" Ominotago
Eighteen | Fluidsexual | Student | Extrasensory Perception | Teenage Mother | Changed | Single
Tak has changed a lot since she got pregnant and gave birth to her baby girl, but some things stay the same. She's still has a habit of giving people spirit animals based on the information she gets from her ability; she still has a sort of spunky, sexual personality, the latter being less pronounced than it used to be for obvious reasons, but still there; and she still loves henna, singing, dancing, photography, and all things from her ancestral culture. She has, however, matured somewhat; she thinks she's gotten wiser, and is less prone to making rash decisions. Running and swimming are still hobbies she enjoys, especially since they helped get her body back post-baby.
She's probably lost and gained friends over the entire ordeal she's been through. She's very loyal, but not stupidly so - if your intentions are dark, she's even more keen now to rip you out of her life. However, she's generally easy to get along with, and isn't opposed to making new friendships, especially now after having gone through so much.
It's also possible she's made some enemies along the way; being in the position she was in, there are certainly people that probably look down on her less-than-admiral behavior that resulted in her pregnancy. She has no time for people that keep labeling and ridiculing her for her past, and will likely just drop conversations and leave situations that try to degrade her.
Love for Tak is sort of up in the air at the moment; she's not opposed to it, but not actively seeking it out, either. What might come might come, and she's still going to have fun in the meantime. Not as much as she used to, but that nature is still there. She hasn't changed completely. She's also more fluid about her sexuality, and is interested in exploring girl relationships to some extent. She's not picky.

Malachai "Kai" Roen
Twenty-Two| Bi-Curious | College Student/Local | Winged Flight | Rich | Seductive | Single
Kai is your typical rich college student. Having grown up in a well-to-do family, he's used to having luxuries at the tips of his fingers, but also has always been very aware of the work his parents had to go through to get there. Because of this, he's very hard-working and dedicated to his education; but, that doesn't mean he can't be cocky as well. He knows how to work people to his best interests, though he's not extremely manipulative, just gently persuading. Most of the time. His ability is winged flight, though he tends to keep them hidden most of the time. He's currently finishing his last year studying chemistry and sex education, and works part-time as a yoga instructor as well as at a high-end boutique in the mall.
He's pretty easy to get along with if you can get past the cockiness, so Kai's likely to have at least a small number of friends to spend time with. He probably has some old ones from Hammel, as well as at the college and from meeting people through work.
Kai tries to avoid getting on people's bad sides, but it's possible his work ethic and dedication to his own future might make rivals or hurt people that want to spend time with him when he's in one of his 'work comes first' moods. Otherwise, he doesn't think he has any reason to have people dislike him.
As for romance, he gets around. He isn't a huge partier, but he does like to go to them on occasion and pick out a pretty thing for the night. His intentions aren't extremely dark or demanding, and he won't pursue after someone that's clearly not interested, but he does like to have a variety to choose from. A girl broke his heart a few years ago and left him uneager to pursue a more solid relationship, but it's possible if he ends up connecting with someone on a deeper level. He's also not opposed to experimenting with men, though he hasn't done it yet.

Oliver Seabrooke
Twenty-Three | ???sexual | Dorm Monitor | Ecological Empathy | Hipster | Sulky | Single
Oliver is your typical stereotyped hipster. Avoiding anything mainstream and popular, Ollie likes to find new, unheard of things that he thinks are underrated or just unique. He has an interesting ability - ecological empathy and root information transference - that make him even more into the outdoors as he was before his abilities manifested. He's an ex-indie band guitarist turned Hammel dorm monitor, due to an accident that blinded him in his right eye. He is still getting used to his disability, so if he happens to run into any doors or bump into things, don't be surprised if you hear mumbled curses.
Oliver isn't an extremely outgoing type, but he does have some close friends that share similar interests to him. He tends to look down upon people that are into pop culture, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't be your friend anyway. As long as you are a decent person, don't pity his disability, and can put up with his slight snobby nature, he'll likely befriend you. He also is willing to make friends with some of the students he looks after in the dorms; he might even turn a blind eye (pun intended) to slight misbehavior if he likes you.
Enemies might be a reality for Oliver. He does get a bit snappy and think better of himself than those who are into mass-media things, which is certain to lead to arguments and a general dislike of the person if they're a douche about it. He may also have students that don't like him because he can be a bit of a hardass and not put up with shenanigans sometimes.
As for a love life, Oliver has a sort of weird approach to it. He likes the idea of being in a relationship, sort of, but he also doesn't like the thought of being tied down to a single person. He doesn't want to just sleep with random people, but he's happy to have casual sexual relations with friends. Friends with benefits, he supposes? He's just very relaxed about it, and hates anything cliche about romance. He is willing to just date too, though, but be forewarned - his idea of a date might be a bit unusual.
