.room for more? (Jade & Noa)

It was about that time where Vera needed to move out of the institute and live on her own, or with roommates in this case. It wasn't like she was done with Hammel, even being nineteen she still hadn't graduated yet. Apparently, she needed one more year just to make sure she had more training and learning especially when it came to her abilities. From day one, she was warned about how much power she had behind that brain of hers and if she wanted what was, she would continue her training to better herself. Just so she didn't have any more unwanted accidents. Besides no one likes to have their car blown up just because Vera is near... and maybe having a heated argument with an ex.

No one wants that, not even her.

Seeing as she couldn't stand living with dorm laws and regulations, answering a nearby roommies AD was the way to go. And from the information given on the ad, Vera was pretty sure it was her friend Jade's and Jade had just so happened to be looking for two new roommates. Which was even better because it wasn't too long from today that Vera had sent Noa a text about the second opening. Seeing that she never got a text back, Vera assumed she just wasn't interested. Which sucked, she could only imagine the shit the three of them could get into together.

As she reached the door, the hard copy of the ad and a Starbucks iced coffee was held in her left hand as she knocked on the door with her right. Vera had texted Jade earlier to make sure it was okay to stop by and see the place and such but of course, she had arrived way later than when she said she would. Eh... she'd be alight. She stood still with her brunette locks in an up bun, an extra large and black Ramones graphic tee that was somewhat torn from a previous fight (won't talk about it), black cotton leggings and her black and blue sneaks to match.

Noa wasn't always the best at checking her text messages. Or, really, she wasn't the best at answering them. So she'd been psyched when she'd gotten the text from Vee about Jade's new place, but had put off answering her until she'd checked her own finances, talked to her parents, figured out her previous housing, etc. Meaning she never actually got back to her. But she was definitely interested!

The idea of being in an apartment with Vera and Jade was incredibly appealing. Not just because they could have girl's nights in (and - more importantly - girl's nights out), but because she needed to be with people. Last winter had been tough, being in a single dorm at UVM (which was now mostly packed into boxes), and the days alone had been the worst. A house with Vera and Jade could only be better. Also, a parking space. And a full-sized refrigerator. And a shower. Actually, the more she thought about this, the happier she got.

It was a lucky break that she'd been going through old text messages this morning and seen Vee's. She'd realized - huh, that was probably something she should jump on before it was too late. She'd pulled a sweatshirt (that she'd cut into a loose off-the-shoulder tshirt) over her plain tank top and a jean shorts, still wearing the vertical striped thigh high stockings she'd worn out last night, and almost forgot her checkered Vans as she left her nearly barren dorm room, pulling her hair into a messy bun as she hopped down the stairs.

Twenty minutes later (it probably took her longer to get to her car than to drive there) she was pulling up to the address Vee had mentioned, and spotted the girl herself outside. Had she knocked already? Noa pulled in tight to the curb, parking in a hurry, and jumped out of the car, her hot pink wayfarers bouncing on her head as she barreled toward her friend.

"Gah!" She pulled back upon seeing the spillable substance in the girl's hand, and managed to not quite tackle her, keeping the drink contained even as she offered an enthusiastic side-hug. "Sorry I didn't answer your text, I was doing logistic stuff - but I am totally in for this place! Did you already knock?"

As she stood waiting, Vera pulled her phone out of her bra just to check if she missed any texts or needed to ignore texts... especially from a certain ex from back home. She shivered, never would she ever answer another text again... last thing she needed was a psycho ex downloading a tracker app to track her down and kidnap her to be a wife or some crazy shit like that.

Ugh.

Vera could hear a car parking nearby but didn't really turn to look at who it was but from the footsteps something told her she should have anyway.

"Gah!"

Noa! Had she gotten Vera's texts after all or was just randomly breezing through the neighborhood to stop by? Vera hugged Noa back with her free arm and smiled. "It's okay babes, I was hoping you had gotten the texts anyway but now that you're here... YAY!" Usually Vera would be jumping up and down clapping like an excited loser. "I'm glad you're up for it! I did indeed just knock but Jade hasn't came to the door yet, thinking about just busting the door open. Good idea? No?"

Vera ended up knocking on the door one more time.

Noa grinned at her friend's exclamation of excitement and lifted her hands slightly, shimmying her hips in a silly little victory dance. She dropped her shades over her eyes, pulling a stick of gum from her back pocket, wisely choosing to speak before chewing.

"I would say yes, but I'm considering the facts that 1) I am not dressed for the ass-kicking of inanimate objects, and 2) I quite like doors. I would hate to be without one for the first week in our new home - despite what some of my actions may imply," she added quickly. Ok, so she could be a bit of an exhibitionist. But wasn't everybody, at some point or another?

With her explanations out of the way, she popped the gum in her mouth, glancing towards the windows curiously, wondering if Jade was even home.

Jade was home; however, she'd been taking a bath. A long shift at Starbucks was enough to make her feet ache and feel like she needed to relax. She'd hooked up her iPod to the speakers and blasted music while she bathed. She wasn't really expecting anybody. Parker knew she had a long day at work and needed to unwind. If she didn't unwind, she was really crabby and that was not something you wanted to deal with.

She'd finally gotten out of the tub and wrapped a towel around her when the song changed and there was a pause between that and the next one coming on. That's when she'd sworn she heard a knock on the front door. Curious, yet slightly annoyed, she raced to her bedroom to pull on a random black tank top that was on her floor and a pair of boyshorts before going for the door as another knock was heard.

"Jesus, I'm here!" she shouted at the closed door and threw it open to see two familiar faces -- a red head and a dark haired girl. Okay, so maybe it wasn't so bad that it was them at the door, but she had been rushed and water was dripping from her thick black hair. "Holy shit, I haven't seen you two bitches in forever." The use of bitches towards these two girls was probably the only endearing way she'd ever used the word. She'd definitely not expected to see these two on her doorstep. "Please tell me you both weren't planning on knocking my door down. I really can't afford to have it replaced with my paychecks from Starbucks."

As the door opened, Noa's eyes raised and she perked up. Aha! Success! There was Jade, looking... flustered. And wet. Not in the fun way, more in the 'just had my head dunked in a bucket' way. But hey, any girl looked good with her hair wet. Usually because the rest of her was wet too.

At the greeting, Noa snorted. "Love you too," she smirked, rolling her eyes. She was attempting to look past Jade into the apartment (or would this be considered more like a townhouse? A condo? What did these terms even mean?) when she heard Jade's comment about the door. She sent Vee a smug look of 'See? I told you we shouldn't knock down the door,' popping a bubble in satisfaction.

She couldn't help but to chuckle at the 'asskicking of inanimated objects', Noa was pretty damn funny but at the same time, Vera liked having doors too... only for weather purposes and keeping weird things out, didn't care too much on strange people walking in. She was sure she could handle people.

With the way Jade was taking her dainty ass time, Vera hoped they didn't show up when she had some sort of "friend" over because Vera knew that if it was her, she'd probably never answer the door. Though, when she heard the exclaimed "Jesus, I'm here!" followed by the door opening to reveal a very... wet and unexpecting Jade. Vera wasn't sure but the first things he did was to look behind Jade just to see if there any guys... or girls... lingering about.

She was just so nosey.

Vera looked back at Noa and smirked before eyeing Jade again, "Okay so I was thinking about busting your door down but then I remembered how much I missed you." Vera then quickly held the roommate ad up and close to Jade's face. "Greetings and tears of joy aside for a later date, WE'RE HERE to answer your lovely call, you sexy bitch you." She then slipped her phone back in her bra and grabbed her coffee with the other hand so she could sip.

"You gonna let us in or what?" Vera added with a smile.

As Vera held up the ad, Noa did a little Vanna White impression.

At Noa's comment, Jade cracked a smile. "Okay, okay, I missed you guys too. I was just in the middle of taking a bath, that's all." It'd been a while since she'd seen Noa. Sure they went to the same college, but it just seemed like they were in two different worlds sometimes. Noa was a firecracker and that was a big title given who Jade was. Sometimes she could barely handle the red-head, but she loved Noa just the same and she was fun in small doses...kind of like drugs. Not that Jade did them.

She eyed the paper that was a little too close to her face and resisted the urge to slap it away. Of course, it was the ad she put up that nobody wanted to answer. It was probably because they knew she lived there and didn't want to be associated with her, although it didn't matter to Jade. She knew she was hard to handle. Maybe that's why her and Noa got along. They were both a little too much in two different ways. Vera seemed to be the happy medium between them both and it just...worked.

She smirked at Vera. "Well, in that case, welcome to my humble abode." She threw open the door all the way to reveal the kitchen which was where the front door led into. It was small but enough for Jade. Beyond that was the reasonably sized living room and one bedroom. The hall led to a stairwell, where the other two bedrooms were located along with the only bathroom. Jade's only problem was that sharing a bathroom got to be kind of annoying, especially with other females, but they had to make it work. After all, the rent wasn't bad and the place wasn't falling apart.

"Ladies, I present you to the Sexy Bitch Haven. Now population three."

"Well, in that case, welcome to my humble abode."

Once Jade let the door back even more, Vera smiled brightly as she slowly walked in but made sure to quickly slip her sneaks off before she fully stepped in. Yeah, she wasn't very formal but growing up in a strict/well mannered family, there were still a few things that she was taught and followed. Respecting someone's house was one of those things... unless it was an asshole's house... then she'd go and fully trash it, no questions asked.

As Jade gave the two the tour, Vera couldn't help to finish the last slurps of her iced coffee as she nodded slightly. Jade's place was really nice, the kitchen was a good size seeing as it was currently only Jade living there. Vera cooked but wasn't too sure if the other lovely ladies did. The bedrooms were great sizes, all that Vera really needed especially being that she had a lot of stuff and clothing and the bathroom. Oh the bathroom. Having only one bathroom wouldn't be a problem either, Vera had grew up with 3 other siblings and even though she grew up in a big apartment, you learn how to shower and piss so fast that you'd think no one was ever in there.

Vera made her way to the nearest trash can to toss the ad and her empty cup while also eyeing Noa, just to see if she was still interested during the tour. "Sexy Bitch Haven indeeeeeed! This place is great.. and having you two as roommies makes it even better!"

Noa glanced at Vera as the other girl slipped off her shoes, and looked to Jade for some sign of approval or indifference. "Are we doing that?" She pointed from Vera to her shoes, back and forth a couple times, "Cause I can do that." And she followed Vee's example, trusting it was better to be too cautious than disobey any unspoken rules - especially if the rules belonged to Jade. She tried to tone down her energy level around Jade for the sake of both of their sanities, and it was good for her to calm down every once in a while. Besides, she preferred bare or sock/stockinged feet anyway.

As Jade gestures to the house, Noa honestly didn't care what it looked like. Well, okay, she cared but it wasn't going to change her mind. She needed to be out of her dorm. Badly. And the discipline of sharing a house would be good for her - she could be very organized when it was called for (for certain spans of time, that is). She mentally started a list of thing she had to make lists for (she liked lists, and made a lot of them when trying to get things done): dishes and linens, a grocery system, soap and trash bags, the inaugural first full fridge... But she held her tongue, not wanting to launch into mechanics so soon after verifying her status as roommate.

"I'm liking the vibe," she nodded enthusiastically, as she glance into the living room, then smirked. "We should get that embroidered on a pillow," she joked about the name, though she wasn't entirely sure if she was kidding. It would certainly add a bit of spice to the decor.

She looked to Jade, not wanting to overstep any boundaries, as she asked, surprisingly politely, "Do we need any sort of house supplies? Should we do a shopping list or something?"

"You guys don't have to take off your shoes, you know," Jade told her two friends. She was used to having to do the same thing as her parents were strict and would never let anybody where shoes in their house. Of course, Jade's mother was a neat freak though. "I always wear my combat boots around the apartment." She shrugged and then watched the two eye the apartment. "So, judgement time. Not too shabby, huh?" She smiled. Noa had commented on the vibe and Vera did say it was great. "I'm so happy someone's finally interested and it isn't a bunch of blonde dumb-ass bimbos. That would not go over well." Jade had only so much tolerance for certain people.

"Supplies? I mean, I have the basics here," she told Noa. "Although I am a little low on food. It's been a rough month." She smiled sheepishly. "But feel free to move in any time. Although I'd prefer sooner than later. I know how dorms are and I'm pretty sure you both are just dying to get out."

Noa had mentioned the vibe of the house and Vera nodded in agreement. It was nice pad and to only imagine, with her and Noa added to the mix... it could be AWESOME! And awesome it shall! The whole time Vera had been writing down a mental list of what she needed and wanted and was even soon to ask if anything else was needed but Noa had beaten her to it.

Vera looked back at Jade with a smile, "This isn't shabby at all. I love it actually... who isn't to say that I may bring in a bimbo blonde over for a night but that's neither here nor there." She gave an uneasy but silly laugh. "As for food and grocery shopping, DO NOT worry about it. If you guys just give me a list of everything you need and want every month, I will have it bought and done, no questions asked." She honestly didn't mind at all, that way the girls would have extra money to save so they could worry about other crap and seeing that she loved to cook, hopefully they'd allow her to do most of the cooking since she was pretty much open to all types of recipes.

Even though Vera never liked to brag about it let along mention it, her family lived pretty comfortable, okay really comfortable. Her parents had been ready for anything apparently and with their deaths, they had made sure more than enough was left to her and her siblings, as well as the government funding from the military and her uncle and aunt who were also currently the "guardians". So yeah, she was pretty well off.

"Oh, and dying to get out... is an understatement."

"...who isn't to say that I may bring in a bimbo blonde over for a night but that's neither here nor there."

Noa snickered at Vera's comment - she couldn't help it, really. "Hey-o!" She made the little 'cheers to that' sound quietly, holding her hand out for a high five. She had to appreciate that - especially since she'd probably bring people over too. They should probably run over how etiquette around here would work.*

"...If you guys just give me a list of everything you need and want every month, I will have it bought and done, no questions asked."

Noa always felt a little awkward accepting charity, especially since she wasn't in a bad financial situation herself, with her monthly allowance from her parents covering basically all her living expenses. But hey, this was Vera, and Noa paid her back with awesome friendship and chauffeuring services, so it was fair. "I can supply the condoms," she offered, "I pick them up on a regular basis anyway, so you guys won't have any excuse to be stupid." She pointed at each of them accusatorially. Safety was key. Always. And she intended for her friends to stay safe. "And I may not be a great cook, but I still like to bake, and I promise to make brownies and cupcakes when I can." She held her hand over her heart and put her left hand up like she were swearing an oath.

"...I'd prefer sooner than later. I know how dorms are and I'm pretty sure you both are just dying to get out."

Noa's heart leapt at the prospect - good thing she was already packed! She just needed to make a couple of runs back and forth with boxes and she could be living in the Sexy Bitch Haven in no time! "Lovely! I need to get out badly. My life is miserable when I'm alone," she said it like a joke, but the reality was true. Her life was beyond miserable when she was alone. She was pretty worthless as a person if she didn't have someone to be happy or useful for.

"Yeah, it's a pretty fucking great place," Jade agreed with Vera. "And I really hope you have better taste than blonde bimbos, V. Not that I'm one to judge, but...you could do better. Like me for instance." She shot her friend a smirk, one to let her know she was joking...well, mostly. Jade was in no way a slut. She dated causally and never usually got too close to somebody. Besides, most would not want to deal with her anyway. She was damaged goods and nobody was going to pick her off of the shelf over somebody who wasn't dented in the way that she was. Sure, she had Parker...she was dating him after all. But it wasn't anything serious and it wouldn't be. She wasn't sure she could handle serious. Although it was more like she wasn't sure if any guy or girl could handle her and everything that came with the package.

"I'm cool with that," she told her dark-haired friend. "I fucking hate grocery shopping." She only did clothes shopping. Thrift shops were her best friend. "I know you cook so I'm cool with that too seeing as I have no talent in the kitchen." It also didn't help that sweets were her weakness and Noa was bound to make some. However, Jade was happy doing the cleaning. She managed to keep the place in good shape--except for her bedroom...but that was HER space and her space only.

She knew questions were going to come up about bringing people over and honestly Jade didn't have any real problem with it, unless she was trying to sleep because she had an early morning shift at Starbucks and one of her roommates was banging a guy in the room over. Granted, one of the bedrooms was downstairs, but still. She was willing to bet that at least one of them was loud in the bedroom.

Noa launched into the importance of protection and Jade nearly face-palmed. "You should be a sex ed teacher or something, I swear. Although I bet all of your students would be all over you," she joked. She didn't advertise that she was still a virgin, but she was. She had lots of random flings, but nothing ever got too out of hand and sex...felt like commitment to her unlike to others.

"So, I'll let you bitches fight over the bedrooms. Mine's the furthest down the hall upstairs. Have at it." She grinned at the two of them.
