The Basics
Name: Isabela Monroe
Nicknames: Izzy
Age: 28
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Phys Ed. Teacher - Ed.D acquired
Powers: Enhanced Condition: The ability to remain in the peak physical and mental condition with little maintenance. This means that traits such as natural strength, speed and intelligence are heightened, but held by the limitations of humanity. Side effects include a painfully high metabolism, and an unfortunately shortened life expectancy - this is a known concept that weighs heavily on the mind.

General Appearance: First and foremost, Isabela is 5'2. She has a dark complexion, and a very noticeably expressive face. Her black hair is usually incredibly curly, but it's always extensively styled into something of an Elvis-inspired updo. Make up that accentuates her eyelashes is also key, because she really does take pride in her stylistic appearance.
Because oh, clothes are so important. Isabela's primary 'colour' choices are black and white. It's rare to ever see her wearing any kind of colour, aside from the occasional vibrant pop in a well executed shoe choice. Her style of clothing primarily comes from the concept of a tuxedo. There's almost always a white button up shirt in play, accentuated with a bow tie or a simple regular tie instead. On occasions she wears suit and tuxedo jackets - only the most perfectly tailored jackets apply here, otherwise the whole look is thrown off and she might as well not bother. Y'know what it's like, am I right? The pants are either fitted like your favourite skinny jeans or simple like a pair of slacks. And the shoe - if not coloured - are your standard black and white wingtips.
Grey? Well... it's not out of the question. It does encompass all the shades between her favourites, after all. And there's nothing wrong with adding a little bling to the look, whether it's with jewellery or bejeweling a collar. Or two.
It's funny - considering her ability, one would think she wouldn't be such a small, lithe looking person. That's part of the mystery, I suppose. Some people might say it doesn't make sense to have a job like hers and still put so much into appearances. But she wouldn't be one of them, because yes - she works in a black and white deconstructed tuxedo and doesn't seem to struggle to do so. Sweats are for your house. Where no one's looking. And you can be 'yourself'.
Personality: Can I level with you for a second? Are we cool? That's good. Let's get the heavy stuff out of the way. Beauty is not skin deep. Izzy says this is a fact. Your outer persona is a reflection of who you feel you are inside. If you know you're beautiful inside, it will reflect. As cliche as that sounds, it's a very serious thought to come to terms with. It's why she dresses the way she does; her outer self is what she feels like. Small but potent. Extravagantly clad. Expressively bright. Oozing charisma. Coming to terms with it is to find inner confidence, and that directly propels outer confidence. If she didn't feel this way about herself - if she didn't know she is who she's supposed to be - she might get incredibly bogged down in the day to day throws of life. The obvious acts of heartlessness, selfish gain and overt cruelty that seem to plague humanity. The personality of the universe is a depressing thought to battle with often, but if you know yourself, you won't get trapped within it. And that, my friends, is the nature of Isabela Monroe.
This mentality it was give Isabela some of her good personality traits. She likes to listen. She likes to be helpful and give advice. She'd like to be your go-to person, if you want her to. If you'd let her, she might surprise you. She might tell you just what you've been waiting to hear. She happens to be very good at deconstructing people and their situations.
But we're about to get negative, because no body's perfect. A beautiful sentiment for a mentality can only do so much for you. Izzy likes to talk things out. Thoughts, ideas. You name it. It means she can get lost on the occasional tangent. It often takes the derailing of that process by another person to make her snap out of it. She is a stubborn woman by nature, and this can be intensified when she's denied something. If she's worked like crazy on a lesson plan, only to have a difficult student deny her the chance to see if it'll work, she's going to be annoyed about that. She's going to try not to let it get to her, but it still might to a capacity. Professionalism exists in these means to make sure she doesn't do something she'll regret, but a clever quip or two to put a certain student in their place never goes astray. Am I right? You know I am.
It's important to note that Izzy is an Egalitarian - an Equalist. Not a supremacist for either side. She's usually quiet about her views on the grand scheme of things, but she believes everyone should be completely equal. While she feels her powers are nothing more than a part of her, and she shouldn't be penalised for them, she also believes people shouldn't rely on them to lift themselves higher in life. Basically, no; meta-humans shouldn't get the short end of the stick because they have powers. It's a fact of life that can't be changed - some people can never help what they do, and she understands that. It's how they use them that matters. People need the ability to get over themselves long enough to see how they could assist the greater formation of the world. The guy with the ability to turn bricks into gold? The one who may have bought himself a million dollar house? He's no better than the working man, and he's a bit of an asshole for not helping the less fortunate countries in the world for it.
She uses her ability in tandem with her clever mind and creative status to do something useful with her life. She strove to achieve her Ed.D as soon as she could, because she had an idea and she wanted to make a change. So Izzy's the driven type, almost overtly so. But what's the point in living if you aren't going to make things a little brighter than they were when you got here? Given how aware she is of her shortened life expectancy, Izzy has tried to take the information as best she can - be the change you want to see in the world. Every minute is important, so don't waste them. In her downtime, she does have this thought of life expectancy weighing on her mind. When she stops thinking she starts to feel the pressure of knowing her ability is taking some of her life away from her. It's every bit as daunting as you can imagine.

History
Isabela was adopted as a baby into the arms of Connor and Bethany Monroe - a couple who found out they were unable to have children by natural means. They loved her like she was always their own, and she had no reason to believe she wasn't. Several years down the track they decided to adopt again and Isabela was gifted with a younger brother named Alexander. She loved him like he was always her brother, and he had no reason to believe he wasn't.
As a child, Isabela excelled in her schooling and proved to be a very driven child. She craved learning new things while others craved toys. She was overly dedicated to her learning - the possible side effects of having a teacher for a mother. But Isabela had excelled so much that she skipped the fourth grade, much to the approval of her parents. And her need to improve didn't stop there. She was taking on a myriad of extra lessons by the time she was in high school. Dance, music, artistry - her creative side flared in her later schooling years, and she became something of a well rounded student. In a nutshell, her time before Hammel was all about rapid growth. And then she got these wicked powers.
When recruited to Hammel, Isabela was excited. It was a new chapter in life, and despite the fact that she'd miss her family, she couldn't have been happier. Her parents weren't metas and they knew little to nothing about meta-humans. But they didn't get a choice, and so they sent her off. Her trainer was incredibly helpful in teaching her how to manage the proverbial burden that was Enhanced Conditioning. As good as it seemed to have so many heightened skills, it was difficult to be forced to eat so regularly. Sugar burned up in her system quicker than she ever expected - offering only short bursts of energy. So with the help of her trainer, she was taught that eating properly was as important as eating regularly. These "wicked" powers were beginning to take on every meaning of the word. While she graduated from the high school portion of Hammel early, she was forced to return for excess training for years throughout the beginning of her intense college experience. She'd started early given her choice to skip grades, with the intent of getting a teaching degree. Certain things about the education system in tandem with meta-human abilities had always irked her, and so she was driven enough to try and help change things for the better.
She found out the truth about her ability at a later date. Halfway through her degree, her ideas were flourishing. And her old trainer had been there as a type of sound board, even after she'd moved away to study elsewhere. He explained the mechanics of things in greater detail when she'd asked, because she'd always wondered; how does the body cope with the constant extremity it carries? Tentatively, he'd answered.
You burn out quicker.
How much quicker? He couldn't say. No one could, but the regenerative action can't sustain a constant level for as long as it normally could. Isabela... Well, she wasn't sure how to take the news. She suddenly felt like something of a ticking time bomb. He hadn't planned to tell her - had it not been for her imperative studies effecting meta-humans, he mightn't ever have. The thought of potentially living in an existence on seemingly borrowed time without the knowledge was as daunting as the news itself. What had she been doing for the last few years? Coasting along in a degree she was passionate about, but not completely committed to? If nothing else, she could and would commit to finishing what she started. To finding the drive underneath meaning and turn things out into a positive. It was difficult - the concept of dying early wasn't a good one to have to face - but Izzy wouldn't be Izzy if she didn't do something with what she had.
Years passed, and her Ed.D dissertation was looming. So far her educational research had drawn her to one defining point; some people, powers and traits just need more. Some - like herself - are held back by the extent of their abilities for extra training. And so, her final dissertation centered around how to aid that fact. The concept of excess training for physically inclined students through physical education came to fruition - some called them extra training sessions akin to specific powers, and Isabela would rather promote a prominent step in training physical attributes, given how they effect the production of certain abilities. With more understanding of the physical mind and body, the meta-human should adapt to their abilities quicker.
Despite the wariness that came from a dissertation about meta-humans, Isabela received her Ed.D in 2012. With her newly acquired status, Isabela moved on to Kocher for a six month stint where she assisted in culminating the curriculum. When the position opened up at Hammel to actually teach Physical Education, Izzy jumped at the chance.
