Chase the Crazy Right Out of My Head (Oriel)

The dance thing was probably one of the main reasons Penelope had even bothered coming here. It was fun and she got to show off, why would she complain? Penelope enjoyed dancing and it was pretty much the only thing keeping her sane in this crazy world. There was several things she didn't want to think of right now and whenever these thoughts popped in for a visit, she pushed them away and focused on something else. Well, she tried to anyways. It wasn't always all that easy, but dancing seemed to do the trick.

It was almost as if she was a completely different person when she danced. All the worries, the troubles and everything else she didn't enjoy disappeared and it was just her body and the music. It was rather nice, having a way to escape everything like that, and lord knew she needed it. Sure, many of the problems she had she had caused on her own, but not everyone. And those she hadn't caused herself were usually the main reason as to why she behaved the way she did.

Either way. She needed a dance partner, and she knew exactly who to ask.

Making her way through the campsite she looked for her brown haired, spitfire friend. And when she finally found him, she approaced him with a wicked grin on her face. Making her way towards him from behind, she put her hands in front of his eyes and pulled him slightly backwards.

''How do you like your eggs? Cooked or fertilized?'', she whispered into his ear with a slow, creepy, staggering voice.

Oriel, as opposed to Penelope and probably over half of the other students, was not particularly looking forward to the retreat dance. Hell, he wasn't even sure he wanted to go....ok that wasn't true, he was sure he wanted to go, it was just....there was going to be so many people there. And Oriel hadn't quite figured out whether or not that was something he was going to be willing to put up with without ending the night feeling like he wanted to break something.

But that was something he didn't have to think about right at this moment because Oriel was busy trying to make a makeshift fishing rod by taking a long stick and tying a string to the end.

Hey, it worked in movies, so why not?

But suddenly he was blind! He couldn't see!! And it was the fault of someone with soft hand and a voice that was trying really hard to be stalker-creepy!!

"I like yours scrambled," he said with a wicked grin.

Man, how she had ever managed without Oriel before was a mystery. He always made her feel better no matter what kind of crappy mood she was in. Not that she had been in a bad mood right now, but still. The boy made her smile and she was thankful that she had a friend like that. ''Oh, I bet you do.'', she said and let her hands drop to her hips. ''What are you doing?'', she asked then, looking at his... Stick? with an amused grin. Man, Oriel was a kid in more ways than one, that was sure.

But hey, that was also one of the reasons she enjoyed hanging out with him.

''Hey, I've been meaning to ask you something.'' Penelope sat down on the ground beside him and folded her hands over her knees and looked up at the brown haired boy. ''Unless you're not too busy playing with sticks, of course.'' She grinned and leaned slightly back. Hehe, she made a pun. Well, not really, but she could always pretend that she did.

Oriel certainly enjoyed being around Penelope as well. She was so easy-going and could take his banter like a boss. And she was a great person to hang out with when he was felt like an entertaining distraction.

"Maaking a fishing pole," he replied with a straight face. Oriel had every intention of using it, even if it didn't work. Well, he hoped it worked, but likely it wouldn't.

Oriel smirked over at the sexy dame sitting beside him. "Weeellll, I guess I can make some time for you," he said as if he was giving her a privilege by stopping his very important business. "But you know, stick-playing is very important to my kind, we tend to get weak and wallowy and all kinds of agitated when we can't play with our sticks, so I can't let you hold onto me for too long." His grin widened as he set the stick down and leaned into her, their faces just a few inches apart. "What's up?"

A fishing pole? Right. She looked at the stick with her eyebrow raised and shook her head. ''Well... Good luck with that then.'', she said with a chuckle. Well, they managed to make fishing poles way back when, so Oriel should have been able to make one too. Maybe.

''Oh yeah, I don't doubt the importance of the stick, don't worry. You need something to play with now that you have to obey all these boring rules. Don't worry, babe, I feel your pain.'', she said, returning his grin. She placed her hands in her lap and folded them together, her fingers interwinding with each other. ''Well...'', she began and looked up, only to find the boy's face right in front of hers. Penelope rolled her eyes and chuckle. ''You remember how we talked about you and I doing a dance together?'', she began and brushed some of Oriel's hair away from his forehead. ''I want to join the dancing competition, and I need a partner. You want to do me the pleasure of joining, O' Dark Prince?''

Oriel was her first choice of partner, and she really hoped he'd say yes. They could have tons of fun doing it together, and he was really talented too, so there wasn't really anyone but him she wanted to have for a partner.

Yup, Oriel's fishing pole was going to be a masterpiece when it was done! And he was going to have all the fishes to eat and feed to…probably to Erik snake because that was cool!

Oriel grasped his heart as if he were suffocating. "So…painful. Can't breath…must poke with stick…." His eyes shut tight and he fell over onto his side in the dirt. He looked up at her and grinned like a little boy before settling himself upright again.

Now for the serious talk. "Dance competition? But don't you have to be like, talented, to do shit like that?" Though it did sound interesting. And he did like dancing with Penelope. "But hey! It's the Dark Overlord!" he corrected with a sharp fervor. "Get it right next time! I ain't no Harry Potter villain!" He tilted his head with a laugh, letting his mane of hair fall all fluffed to the side. "All jokes aside, sure." He shrugged a shoulder. "Sounds interesting. What'd you have in mind?"
