At the time of his birth his father was killed in action during a convoy attack in Afghanistan during its civil war and by a twist of cruel fate, his mother never survived the birthing. The only love one Jason ever had was his 18 year old brother Adam Prowler, a United States Marine. Jason, being the closest relative he had, took an honorable responsibility of caring for his little brother. Most of his life Jason was a military brat, so to speak, moving around from base to base along with his highly successful military brother. He was provided with a home school education at the base, and because his brother was his legal guardian they both had access to special housing. When Adam wasn’t abroad he made sure to spend as much time with Jason as possible, teaching him all the things his parents taught him. Adam painstakingly planned out every birthday, holiday, and made sure to tell Jason stories of his parents that he once lost. How beautiful and caring their mother was, and how courageous their father was serving his country. The two were closer than any pair of brothers could be.When Jason was 16, Captain Adam Prowler was deployed overseas to Iran to oversee a special ops mission. This was, of course, a normal thing and Jason was used to be being on his own. Adam departed saying goodbye to Jason telling him to behave on the base as he often created some mischief out of boredom. “Stay strong solider” Adam said as he left for his mission. Jason watched him leave the house, out the front door, as Adam hopped into a military jeep. Two months had gone by with no letter, which was particularly unusual. It was 7:00 A.M. on a Sunday morning and Jason was in the kitchen making breakfast. He had just made some eggs and placed a kettle on the stove to boil water for some green tea. There was a knock on his door. Jason wondered who it was as no one really visited often on the base, there weren’t many kids his age around, and any of Adam’s friends who would stop by to check up on Jason wouldn’t have stopped in so early. Jason approached the front door with curiosity, placed his left hand on the doorknob, and opened to see a Major Briggs accompanied by an MP holding an American Flag. “I promised I didn’t do it” he said jokingly as the Major often reprimanded Jason when he did something wrong. The Major didn’t crack a smile, in fact his face was nothing like Jason ever seen before. The Major’s eyes were sad. He sighed and said “Son, I have something to tell you, Captain Adam Prowler…” there was slight pause in his voice which made the silence in the room louder than anything Jason had heard before, the Major continued. “Captain Adam Prowler is missing in action. It has been some time now since we had any contact and there has been only one survivor in the task force deployed for his recent mission. I’m sorry son, Second Lieutenant Gibson was able to bring this back with him in his escape, he wanted you to have it.” The Major handed Jason his brother’s dog tags.Jason’s heart sank, his eyes widened and began to fill with tears. The Major spoke more words but it was to no avail, they were like echoes reverberating against the walls of the house. His brother and idle, the only person he had to his name was gone. If it was as if Jason blacked out, he turned around and walked forwarded to the other end of the room staring at an empty wall. The Major and MP walked into the house; following Jason slowly knowing the pain he must be feeling wanting to comfort him. Jason’s left hand was clenched; his eyes closed, his whole body was shaking with anger and sadness. This wasn’t fair, not for anyone. The tea kettle in the kitchen began to whistle violently. Tears rolled down the side of Jason’s face as he opened his eyes. He screamed, and punched the wall out of hurt and frustration. The wall exploded outward, ripping completely from the foundation. It looked as though a tank broke right through the house. Jason’s eyes widened in shock and awe. His fist still clenched and outward. The MP drew his pistol and aimed it at the boy but the Major put out his hand to the front out the barrel and ordered the soldier to lower his weapon. Jason dropped to his knees, head down, he couldn't stop the tears. In his right hand he clenched his brother’s dog tags as the necklace hung downward. The Major walked up to Jason and put his hand on the boy’s right shoulder. “I know it hurts son, your brother died with honor.”Jason…now a ward of the state was allowed to stay on the base until the military decided what the next step would be. But for now, they gave him time to mourn his brother, Captain Adam Prowler.Roleplay ExampleOther site example:After a long day of training Herok always took a stroll through the forest at night to clear his mind and take a break from the many vampires who didn’t understand his non desire for human blood. Although he had no choice but to conform to such a life he chose to stay away from the bloody streams that flowed through the Splattered Springs. The alluring aroma of pure human blood disgusted him even more, for he only felt remorse by the thought of lost human life and frustration that he couldn’t help but enjoy the scent. This walk through the forest always ended at Sidetrack Lake. Herok never ventured further since he no desire for confrontation with humans who feared his kind and attacked quickly without hesitation. Even though there was no necessity, Herok always drank the water from the lake enjoying its purity reminding him of a time that once was.The lake was usually secluded at such a late hour for reasons that seemed obvious and Herok enjoyed the privacy and serenity. Tonight, however, he was there for another reason. He was in search of a crystal that lay on the bottom of the lake. Rare and difficult to locate it wouldn’t be easy to find. What About You?Name: NickAge: Mid TwentiesExperience: Beginner, played once before. How Did You Find Us? GoogleReady To Play? Of course!
