General Appearance:
Without Kodi's habit of wearing 'guyliner' and constantly changing hair styles and colors, he's a pretty average-looking Chinese-American. He actually has a pretty round, boyish face that could even be considered 'innocent' if not for the constant snarl or glare he likes to wear to look more intimidating. He has pretty soft features and slightly rounded brown eyes, along with a pouty mouth and bright, white teeth (which he makes certain to take very good care of). He has a bright silver tongue piercing, a couple hoops in each ear, and a metal bar piercing the back of his neck.
He stands at about 5'10", with a pretty solid build. He's not overly buff, but he has a pretty decent tone to his muscles, and he's not afraid to show it. His skin is a light tawny color, flawless apart from the occasional puncture marks from his ability 'experiments', as well as the tattoo on his collarbone. His face is kept clean-shaven at all times.
Clothes generally consist of dark and plain, either black, grey, or dark blue with little variation. He doesn't really care about what he wears except for parties, when he'll sometimes break out of his usual monotonous look and go for something brighter and bolder.
Personality:
Kodi seems like a pretty simple, unlikable guy to almost anyone who meets him. His favorite past-times include partying, drinking, and getting into whatever trouble he can, taking pleasure in breaking rules. He hates going to class, likes to burn his homework, and is just a general pain in the neck for any staff at Hammel. He enjoys horror movies and all things creepy and crawly, and loves to use his ability to freak people out.
Inside, though, while he tries to hide it with being loud and rebellious and social, he's a somewhat reclusive, moody person by nature. But he thinks that showing his more sensitive side is weak, and pretends to be fine with himself by sneering at others and trying to make other people miserable. He's quite self-hating, though, due mostly or entirely by his history of where he grew up and what his family life was like. It's very hard for him to make friends, as he tends to push people away unless they provide him with something he wants or needs.
Oddly, he's strangely book-smart. He read a lot as a child, though he was made fun of for it, but it's something he still enjoys, so he secretly does it without anyone knowing. His spider is named Shelob for a reason. He's also very tolerant to pain, and enjoys some types of it in certain situations.
But back to negative traits. He comes across as quite sexist, and seems to have a strong dislike for most girls, seeing them as weaker or unimportant, which is also a side-effect of his upbringing. He is also a bit intimidated by them, but would never admit it, and hides that fact behind jeers and rolling eyes.
Which makes it no surprise that he likes men, especially ones with similar traits to himself - none of those 'goody two-shoe gays' that seem to think the world is full of rainbows and fashion and sunshine. He likes to get around as much as he can, and though he doesn't want to end up alone in life, he's also terrified of the concept of love.Your VicesLikes:

Any Other Important People: His tarantula, ShelobHistoryKodi was born in the town of DeRidder, Louisiana, to an obedient Chinese mother and a strongly religious, anti-meta father that was the pastor for a church on the outskirts of town. Even before he was born, their marriage was troubled, with Jefferson constantly demanding obedience and service from Kodi's mother which almost ran along the lines of abusive sometimes. But she put up with it, and was thrilled when they conceived a child, not knowing the troubles the boy would go through growing up.
First of all, he was one of the only non-white kids he knew growing up, and was teased on a regular basis for being different. He also liked to read, which was just another thing that bullies picked up on and attacked him for. He kept mostly to himself, not feeling like he fit in anywhere, but made sure to put on a bright face for his parents during church.
As he grew older, though, he began to despise his home life, from his mother's constant obedience and his father's demands to being forced to follow a religion that he never felt was right. When he was still young, he already had a habit of spending time with boys and trying to kiss them on the playground, which was highly frowned upon and stifled as soon as it happened. Confused and ashamed of his behavior, he grew even more reclusive from other people. He looked to his parents for how to act, and though he tried to learn though his father's behavior, he never developed the extreme views the man had about various controversial issues.
As he hit his teens, he became more bitter and more prone to temper tantrums, which kept most people away from him. He knew he was gay by the time he was twelve, but was terrified to tell anyone lest his father heard and punished him for saying so. He got used to putting up a front of confidence and vanity when he was suffering inside, and that habit has stuck with him to this day.
When he was thirteen, Kodi got into a particularly heated argument with a fellow student, his temper flaring with each passing moment. Eventually, he just yelled,"SHUT UP!" and... The boy did. In fact, his teeth had sealed together, which terrified all parties involved and made Kodi flee from the scene, horrified. The effect didn't last long, but he knew that he had been the one that had caused it to happen; he felt it in his gut. And that scared him even more, because this was something that he couldn't hide from his anti-meta parents (his mother was more tolerant, but she didn't get much say in the matter whenever it came up). He knew all about metas from his dad's teachings growing up, and hated himself even more for being one.
He didn't tell his parents, though, and waited until the recruiters arrived so he could be taken away as quickly as possible after his parents found out about his ability. He doesn't contact them very much (and when he does, he usually talks to his mother), and they don't often contact him. He began more freely experiencing with his sexuality and non-religious beliefs once he got to Hammel, but his past was and is still deeply ingrained in his being, and it will take a long time for him to snap out of all the things he was taught growing up.Roleplay ExampleI love yoooouWhat About You?Name: Apollo
