Holy GPS Batman! [Kayleigh]

Like any other day of Vermont October, the air was cool and a light breeze lightly nipped. The trees were already deep red and gold, a truly lovely sight that brought the tourists this time of year. The down town area was full of people. Not enough to be crowded, but it was lively. The scattered leaves that covered the sidewalks crunched with every step people took. Robin took in her surroundings with delight as she sat on a bench with several plastic bags at her side. She spent the morning out grocery shopping, and felt like just enjoying the fresh air.

Robin slipped out a book, comic book to be exact, from one of her bags, and flipped it open to the first page of panels. The book she began to read was Adventures of Superman volume 500. Though she's read it plenty of times before, it was a pleasure to look through again. She always favored this volume because of the debut of Superboy. It wasn't long before she was at the familiar back cover of the comic.

She leaned back against the bench, taking in the sounds and sight of the people around her. Robin peered around. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the most sweetest looking girl in the crowd. What a cutie! If Robin was her guardian she'd love her to pieces!

The autumn weather began to show in the city. Trees started changing colors and it made Kayleigh loose her concentration, as she walked through the city, hand in hand with her grandfather. She stopped every few seconds to look at all the colors. She needed to stay close to him, she knew that much. The number of people down town was insane. One second. Just one seconds lack of concentration and she would be lost. This made her hold on tight to his hand, as he spoke with an old friend in front of a video store. It had a game Kay had been wanting for ages.

This made her lose track of time. She thought her grandfather was by her side, but as she looked to her right a minute after, he was gone. Panic started beaming in her head, as she desperately looked around the store. He was nowhere to be seen and she had not gotten a phone yet.

”Grandpa!?” she called out, with tears starting to show in her eyes. If she was lost, how was he going to find her again? She did not know the way home and she had not yet learned his cell number. She had been in town for less than 2 weeks and her address was still a blur too.

”Grandpa???!” she tried to call out again. No one seemed to notice her call for help. She let herself slip down to the pavement with her back against the wall of the store and buried her face in her hands.
