The BasicsName: Judah Bryan Linn
Nicknames: No.
Age: 19, but not yet a college student.
Orientation: Bisexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Judah is a Pyrokinetic, meaning he can manipulate and absorb a flame, it's heat, and cast it by hand and mind. There are few side effects, but the few can effect his performance majorly. Temperature counts. When it's too hot, he will become extremely uncomfortable, but when it's cold, he feels little change or no change. His body reacts badly to air temperatures above ninety degrees, which is a very common temperature in the Chicago area during summer months. He can and will develop headaches after working with his power for a lengthy period. If he is able to focus, he will be able to use his power for around an hour. If frustration gets the better of him, less. If he's pushing himself, he'd be able to fight his side effects for another thirty minutes.
Play By: Dan HowellThe DetailsHair Color: Jet Black
Eye Color: Dark brown-black
Any Piercings? No.
Any Tattoos? Not just yet, but he knows exactly what kind of tattoo he would like for the future. Judah wants to get black inked onto his skin to look like cracking porcelain.
Any Scars? During his manifestation, he was burned several times. Oh, well. Accidents do happen.
General Appearance:
Judah is a male, aged nineteen years, with jet black hair that is cut off to the left and dark chocolate brown eyes that seem innocent and are nearly always flickering around in order to observe the world they were created to see. He has an angular facial structure, but his expression is otherwise relaxed. When he smiles, deep dimples form in his cheeks, and bright white teeth are worn proudly.
His build is a touch above average: tall at six feet, two inches and a bit too thin, but muscular - comparable to that of a dancer. He has a body that evens out, meaning his limbs are long, his torso is long, and he has rather large hands and feet at a size fourteen shoe.
Judah's casual attire is simple. All seasons, he wears dark washed jeans - either straight or skinny - and a cool-color tee shirt. During the hotter days of the summer, as he is uncomfortable in extreme heat, he wears khaki shorts. He doesn't like to be hot or cold, as both make him uncomfortable in different ways, both connected to his powers. He wears black or his Disney theme Chuck Taylor's with the laces in any color he can get his hands on that day.
Personality:
Judah's personality is rather interesting. The personality itself is split down the center, but not as severe as any kind of mental issue such as a bipolar disorder. He has a regular set of teenage emotions, just at a slightly more intense level due to the family issues. Just be careful what you say around Judah. He will be offended by little things. He grows frustrated with people and assignments if they don't meet his standards fast enough. There's another side though, the excited side, the side that laughs and enjoys every moment. He has a fantastic sense of humor, if you like sarcasm and harsh fact.
Judah is intelligent, He is well rounded in math and science - nothing too special though and nothing advanced. He prefers English and History, especially History. He can tell days of the week given any historical date. He had always been very athletic and had always aced Physical Education. His attention span is low, though, which keeps him from being ahead of his peers.
Romantically, he is a complete failure. He struggles to connect with others in a mutual way, let alone a romantic way. He could never grasp the concept of being in love, as his parents never truly appeared to be in love. Judah wasn't exposed to the slightest idea of it as a child. He will flirt, but it will mean nothing, as it is totally unintentional.

Strengths: Judah is very good at not drawing attention to himself. He doesn't want the inhabitants of planet earth to stare at him as if something is wrong with him. There is nothing wrong with him. He just has a special ability. Judah has a silver tongue and can easily seduce or convince a person to see his point of view. He is very charming while happy and occupied. He is also has a very good aim and can run rather fast due to playing lacrosse for most of his life. He is very good at finding his limits, but it doesn't mean he is able to stop himself. Lastly, he can keep secrets behind a padlock and chains.
Weaknesses: The only thing that Judah really can't handle is his temper. It easily spikes and become an issue for the person he is conversing with. He struggles with relating to people mutually and romantically. He can easily offend a person and lacks sympathy for others. Over confidence in himself is also an issue for him because, once he fails, he will become a furious mess.
Fears: Judah is afraid of death. Ironic, sure, but who wants somebody or something grabbing you from the pits of Hell and telling you that your time is up? When there is so much to live for and when a "better place" is nonexistent, who would want death to be brought upon them. He may speak of death quite liberally, but he is nearly obsessed with avoiding it, as if it's a bad omen to simply mention Satan.
Judah also fears that his power will grow to be uncontrollable. It is already an intense power to keep on the down low, especially when he could so easy succumb to it when upset. He also fears burning himself or another person to the point that it is permanent damage.
Secret: Judah is fascinated with touching hair, especially his own, and refuses to cut it unless absolutely necessary. At some points, his dark hair is let to his shoulders. If he has the opportunity to touch somebody else's hair or have somebody touch his, he'll take it, no questions asked.
For the more embarrassing, he has a secret love for anime, Sailor Moon and Higurashi being his absolute favorite to watch (as he has no patience for the manga). Also, a secret love for The Spice Girls and a celebrity crush on Baby Spice.Family Ties(Step)Father: Elijah Isaac Dupree

Judah was an accident. No, his parents never wanted kids. His mother never wanted to have to give birth and his father didn't want the baggage. It wasn't like they couldn't have a baby. The couple had already broken out of the binds of college and have been married for several years. The two hadn't finished the four years. Instead, they both dropped out before gaining their bachelors degree, which limited job choices for both. Judah's mother was forced out of her job as a waitress to care for Judah while his father as a carpenter, self employed, lost business for being rude to customers. His birth was partly responsible for the struggles with expenses. When Judah was five, they were evicted from their single family home in the suburb, Glenview, and forced to move into a small apartment just outside of Chicago, Illinois.
The move into the apartment was not when arguments began, but this is when Judah began to understand what was being said. He didn't understand most of it at the time. He was only five. He chose to ignore the things said about him that he heard through the walls. There was no good reason for him to argue with his parents, even if he overheard them describe him as "worthless" and "a waste of their time." He didn't know what those things meant anyways. He took his daily dose of verbal abuse and waited it out in silence.
The arguing continues as Judah starts school. Kindergarten, first, second, and third grade went well. He began to fail academically at the end of fourth grade and beyond. He could not focus when every ten minutes, another fight would break. Cursing, name calling, blame, hate. It was all mixed into it. April of his fifth grade school year, it was the worst it had ever been. He soon figured out the reason his parents would be at each other's throats. It was his fault. He had been accidental and it was causing a family break down. Three months later, in the month of July, his father left them in the dust. In the middle of the night, he simply packed his things and walked away. Guilt was his first reaction to this. Judah knew he was the reason. Soon, guilt and anger would become a dangerous mix, but he refused to show true feelings. He hid behind a smile for several years. Judah didn't want sympathy.
His emotions went wild. Judah was guilty for being his parents' issue in the first place, but why should he be guilty? It wasn't his fault he was brought into this world! It wasn't anybody's fault but his parents'! This frustrated him. He was angry towards himself for being guilty for no reason whatsoever and he was furious with his parents for treating him so poorly when his birth wasn't his problem! His confused emotions lead to depression and put him underneath a microscope. People began to study him, give him strange looks, and label him as mental.
Through these next few years, Judah had become irrational. At the age of thirteen, Because he wore his Happy Mask, his false smile and attitude, for so long, his entire persona seemed to split. It was little things that could switch it between the two. Something could be said or read, and if it reminded him of his family life, he would explode into a fit of some sort of concoction of anger, depression, and guilt.
His mother remarried a man named Elijah Dupree. Judah and Elijah never saw eye to eye. Judah and Elijah had fought on the uncomfortably warm summer night of August tenth. Judah had locked himself in his room and allowed his darker thoughts to consume him. Later, he simply fell back on the mattress and thought. He thought some more. By now, it was the middle of the night. The western hemisphere was tucked into bed. He began to ponder on the things Elijah had said, what his mother and father had said in the past. "You're hated," "You don't belong here," "There's something wrong with you." Judah had snapped internally that moment. He didn't sit up until he smelled it. Smoke. Judah had looked down upon his hands. Fire shot from his palms. He felt it's heat and it quickly spread. He had scrambled out of bed, startled beyond belief. He attempted to put the flames out with his hands, which made the damage worse. He had concluded that death would soon be inevitable. The closer he got, his arms began to heat. He had to put it out, but it had already burned him. The pain made him his and draw away from it as it swirled across his bed, consuming the fabric. Judah focused on it, praying it simmer down. It did just that, leaving his bed in ashes. Judah put out the last small flame with his calloused finger tips. He finally agreed with his parents. He did not belong in this area. He had been numbed by the experience. The control he had was completely accidental and he soon forgot how it had been done. This was when Hammel was introduced into his life.
Judah was taken by a recruiter just before the school year began. His mother and Elijah immediately accepted as they wanted Judah out of the house immediately. He started in his sophomore year and was housed in a Co-Ed dorm due to his recruiter deciding he needed to "expand his social ties." He progressed well until he reached senior year. He had listened to his trainers and practiced well into the night. He had gained more control over the substance than ever, but he was still far behind. He was held back from graduating because he didn't meet the experience quota. He will need to work on his focus, control on the way it spreads, in order to continue on to college. As a slow learner, this could be a challenge.Roleplay ExampleMason looked back as he was lead upstairs and to Adaryn's bedroom. It seemed like there were thousands of collectible doll's glass eyes staring back at him. Mason cringed, made a horrified face, and turned away, careful not to step on or kick any of the "collectibles" on the floor and staircase. Adaryn's room had changed significantly. Where did all her artwork go? Where was the inspiration? He was somewhat confused. "It's.. different," And it was purple of all colors. Mason didn't like the color purple. Not at all. It was the pigment of his irises when he was pissed, when he was about to transform into the terrible Harpie-creature. Why would he like it? "Where would I like you to begin? The beginning. What happened that made you so introverted and why wouldn't you tell me? Start there."What About You?Name: My real name is Harrison, but I have so many nicknames, it will be impossible to list them all. I can't even keep track. The most basic nickname is "Harry." Everyone is allowed to call me that. I will answer to my character's name. (The nickname "Hikaru" is reserved for AeriLux and AeriLux alone!)
Age: I'm currently eighteen years old, nineteen in January. (For anybody who is wondering, I am not yet a college student. I decided to take a gap year. So far, it has been a terrible year. ...Maybe I should have just gone to college. Haha.)
Experience: I've been RPing since I was twelve or thirteen years old, which was... well, quite a long time ago. Haha. Five to six years is a lifetime in the media world. I wrote for my middle school's newspaper for both years there and my high school newspaper for all four years. Through my experience on stage (as an actor), I have portrayed many characters and manage to keep them for hours at a time. RPing is exactly the same concept, just writing instead of acting.
