Ok, whatever. Sometimes a guy just had to swallow his pride and get the fucking help he needed to get through his classes, right? Even when that pride tasted like shit and made him want to vomit.

Oriel slinked into the computer lab as if that would make it any less obvious that he was there, looking back and forth to ensure there wasn't anybody he knew...or at least anybody who mattered. After a moment of standing there, and getting strange looks from the lab attendant, Oriel finally asked the person where he could find the dude who was supposed to "tutor" him in this electronic media shit.

He still didn't believe it was worth it.

But was at least willing to try it. With some gentle nudging from Phoenix.

Oriel strutted up to the white clad skinny boy, a new-borne scowl adorned on his face. "Oy, pasty face. You..." He hesitated. "You that geek, Eric?" He definitely didn't like that he shared a name with one of his closest friends.

Eric heaved a slight sigh as he sat in the computer lab, waiting for his 'tutee' Is that the proper term? I'll look into that later. he thinks to himself. He was here, largely on protest, but here all the same to help out that Vanguard guy with... well, he wasn't entirely sure. All he knew as fact was the school shrink, or Doc and Eric liked to think of him, wanted him to start making at least SOME effort to get a circle of friends going, and accepting tutor position seemed like a start point.

Thus it was, clad in his usual baggy sweater and fitting pants, sunglasses on due to the damnable window blinds being up, he spotted Oriel walk in, looking like he had recently been slapped in the face by his mother wielding a fish in one hand, and a bad report card in the other. He watched the man, apparently trying not to be seen as he scoped the room, and heaved a sigh, Great. he thinks, He's self conscious about being here. This is going to be a chore.
When Oriel finally worked up the nerve to approach, looking like the lord of the manor found a rat, Ten gritted his teeth and resisted activating the 'kick in the balls and run' routine, rather responding in his just-above-a-whisper voice "I am named Eric, and I do fit two thirds of the Webster definition of geek, so I suppose I'm in the category of the one you're looking for. Coincidentally, I'm waiting for a jock named Oriel, and while you don't seem the sort to fly, you do seem sports capable. All I need now is a name and why these two twains did meet to start."

"There's an actual definition for that?" At least it was only the Webster definition. Oriel could only be thwarted by the likes of an Oxford dictionary. Actually, just the thought of it gave Oriel a headache. "Tell me, what's the definition for 'jock', 'cause I'm pretty sure I don't fit the bill." Though Tenebon was right, Oriel could probably play sports if he wanted. He just didn't like sports. He was perfectly happy with his dancing, a practice he hadn't been able to participate in for the past couple months. At least not officially.

Though he had no idea what the hell Tenebron was talking about with that last part. Two twains? Was that supposed to be some sort of 'high class' speak? Some literature reference? "But yeah," he said finally. "I'm Oriel."

He didn't offer a hand nor did he sit down. Oriel merely glanced over this guy - he might've seen him around campus before - and then looked away. With a bonafide scowl, of course.

Eric rubs a thumb along his jaw for a moment, seriously considering telling this guy to jump in a lake for the look alone, then shrugs, "Call that extra homework. For now though, figure this, I really don't want to be here, but I was told you asked for help. You want help, maybe loose the 'I smell shit, but don't see shit' look and tell me what the problem is. If you don't want help, kindly amble off, I had some pet projects that this is cutting into."

And Oriel didn't take to well with the "I have better things to do than take care of you" attitude coming from this albino. It was like he was in elementary school all over again, making him feel worthless for need help at all. Oriel's scowl only deepened. Could his eyes shoot spears they would have smote this pale pedagogue for his pomposity!

"That's fine by me," he growled through his teeth. "I'll stop imposing upon your precious time then." Oriel spun and stormed out of the room, startling the lab attendant with a noisy slam of the door. He didn't need to take that kind of shit.

Of course, child that he was, and the fact that he really did need/want the help, Oriels storm out only went as far as the hallway around the corner, where he slid against the wall down to the floor, taking deep breaths in order to calm his agitated nerves.

Eric groans, Docs gonna kill me. He then stands and melts into shadow, figuring it would be the best way to run down the berk before he gets to far, and sets out, sliding across the floor and under the door. He's marginally surprised to find Oriel still in the hall, and shifts up a wall to watch him in the immaterial state for a moment, Abandonment issues, I think. he considers, Got set off when I got defensive... he's an ass but...With that, the pale one steps out of his two dimensional state, "Look..." He says quietly, rubbing the back of his head, "I got no reason to like you, you got no reason to like me, don't mean we need ta be assholes to each other. You want help, I'm hip to giving it, but just like you don't want to feel like an imposition, I don't want to feel like filth. You show some manners, I'll give some manners, deal?"

Was he crying? No! Of course not! The Evil Overlord does not cry! Especially not over something so small and stupid! Nope, there was no 'especially'. The Evil Overlord does not cry!

Oriel rose his head and glared at the wall. He really couldn't afford to just sit around here like a dejected loser, he was supposed to be trying(not that he wasn't before but apparently that wasn't good enough. "Try harder!" they say). He was about to heft himself up and go back in, enduring the comments of the ignorant hick until his tongue bled, when suddenly said hick was right there.

Oriel toppled back onto his bottom, scooting away with a hushed "Fuuck!" as he looked up at the skinny white man. "Don't do that!" he asserted to the other boy, completely ignoring everything he'd said. "I could've killed you!" he warned, a 'totally intimidating' growl rolling out of his throat as he look up with a fierce glare.

Eric suppresses a smile at the panicked reaction from the guy. He wasn't quite sure why, probably some repressed sadistic streak, but he always enjoyed seeing the light of fear in eyes not his own, "If that's how you handle fear," He says, straightening up over the downed lad, "then I'm quite sure I'm safe as can be." he flexes one of his gloved hands, then gets a wince on his face, as though trying to force something. His hand slowly, hesitantly, moves out to offer Oriel some help up, "But that's... irrelevant." He says, keeping his hand in contact range of the guy through sheer will, "Do we... or don't we... have a deal?"

Fear? Who was scared? There was a big difference between startled and scared! Besides, he just snuck up on Oriel by materializing out of a fucking wall!! Who wouldn't be startled a moment!?

Oriel looked at the hand. It seemed tense. Like if Oriel dared to grab it this guy who looked like he weighed no more than a toothpick was going to somehow pitch him through a window. He waved away the hand. "Don't fucking care, I wanna get this over with just as much as you."

Though he should probably apologize for going apeshit on the guy...or at least scrounge together some form of an apology. Oriel glared at the sprout known as Eric and snorted. "Just to be clear, Alabaster" he started with a quick heft to his feet, then rolled his eyes as he silently cussed himself out for the slip of the slur. "...I come with a disclaimer, alright? Ninety percent of the shit I say is exactly that, shit. You...you can ignore it so long as you get the important parts."

Eric drops his hand and relaxes visibly with the fading threat of physical contact. Good, a start, though he seems to still want to play alpha male games... odd considering his reported sexuality...
"I can dig it, though if you don't mind, Alabasters a bit too... common for my tastes. Would you mind going for opalite? I like stones made by mans ingenuity over those made by a mad toss of the cosmic dice." He gestures to the computer lab, "All that aside though, you came to me for a reason, what do you need tutoring on, Mr. Curry?"

See how well he reacts to his own medicine. Eric thinks, If he catches it... looks close enough to Latino he might not know he's Indian.

Oriel raised an eyebrow at this guy's....was that supposed to be a comeback? A sideways smile perked up on his lips. "The fuck is opalite?" Oriel wasn't a geologist, he barely knew what alabaster was to use the reference.

The boy stuffed his hands into his pockets, still unsure of what to make of this albino hick. Oriel wasn't one to trust so easily, and this guy was no exception. But he was right, Oriel did need help and if he wanted to get it, then he was going to have to figure out how to play nice.

As Eric suspected, the reference went completely over his head. Being an orphan and knowing nothing of his parents, Oriel hadn't the slightest clue towards his own heritage. Oriel thought Eric was talking about Tim Curry. And so he posed dramatically against the wall, sending him a flirtatious wink before skipping off back towards the computer lab.
