Bishop Bash: Mistletoe Mayhem (Savvy/Nao)

Savvy had never really been known for her tact, or her patience, but she was usually a lot more excited about receiving gifts from people - as evidenced by her suddenly kinda-positive view of the tall Asian guy who was friends with Zach - than she was at this particular moment. Because at this particular moment she had a mission, and that mission was to get her first real kiss. From Nao.

She lessened her pull on his arm as they hit the small table in the area the Bishops called the 'breakfast nook' (that looked out onto the back porch and back yard, beautiful with the snow and twinkling Christmas lights the family had put up). She'd planted the mistletoe just above and off to one corner so it would be obvious when she was under it.

As she was now.

She blushed as she looked at Nao, her heart racing, praying that the boy would catch on any second. "Um... Merry Christmas." Her eyes flicked up to the mistletoe, and then down again, blushing further, waiting for him to make the move.

Nao just went along with it, figuring that Savvy would tell him what was going on or what she was doing when she finally remembered that Nao wasn't just a stuffed animal she could drag along like a toddler. And the unnaturally patient boy idly wondered when dinner was being served.

They stopped, however, right in front of a large window-like area that had a spectacular view of the backyard and the snow. So this was what she wanted to show him. The gesture was enough to make him smile.

Nao turned back to the pretty young girl, looking up slightly at her with a broad smile on his face just as she expressed her merry wishes. "Merry Christmas, Savvy," he returned the sentiment and reached an arm around her shoulders to pull her in…..for a hug. Nao gave her back a few friendly pats before finally pulling back. "Let's go open your present," he said with a twinkle in his eye.

Savvy's heart leapt in excitement as he got closer, pounding frantically at that smile that felt like he was hiding a secret-

And then fell, heavily, as he hugged her.

Okay, he must just be waiting. Right?

...No, he wasn't waiting. He just didn't like her. He probably thought she was repulsive. Oh god, she felt so stupid to think-

"Let's go open your present."

Her hopes shot up again. Was that it, then? His present was going to be mistletoe for her? Or something? ...It seemed a little too big for that, maybe it was something else. Maybe it was a box of kisses? No, no, that didn't really fit.

She had to try again.

She grabbed his arm as he started to move away, "Wait! Um... Are you sure you're not... forgetting anything?" She asked, hopefully.

This was why he liked Savvy, she was so cheerful and excitable about everything she did, even simply giving one of her friends a Christmas gift. And she had dressed so enthusiastically for the party, it must have been really important to her. And she was so perceptive and thoughtful, even getting Nao a Christmas gift that was probably one of the best he'd ever received from a friend.

Nao smiled as he saw her face light up again at the mention of opening he own present. As he thought, she was just caught up and excited about giving so much that she forgot that she was going to receive something too.

Now Nao was excited to go and get her gift too. He was a bit confused, however, when she grabbed his arm and asked if he was forgetting anything.

Was he?

Nao thought for a moment, his face a little vacant as he looked down to the side. Then he remembered. "Right!" he exclaimed with a brightened face. He smiled. "Thank you for inviting me into your home and letting me join your family for Christmas!" He bowed his head a little in the polite manner his parents taught him, then shifted his hand to grasp around Savvy's fingers, giving them a small tug. "C'mon!"
