The BasicsName: Lucy Claire
Nicknames: some call her Lu
Age: 12, will be 13 on March 15th
Orientation: TBD later
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Shapeshifting - Delphinidae (dolphins, orcas, pilot whales etc.). She can't shapeshift into the form of an animal that can breath in the weater. (No waterbreathing). However she can -if her current water form permits it - stay under water and dive deeper that humans naturally can. Her default form is a dolphin. It's the only waterform that comes naturally to her. Changing into another one will take her a lot of training and energy. Side effects are: dry skin, a preference for high humidity, after changing back into human form: diziness and difficulties to walk, a preference for marine animals for food.

General Appearance: Lucy is of average height for her age, maybe a bit on the small side. People tend to guess her age too low due to her slender build and her underdeveloped feminine curves. She usually wears used t-shirts and jeans and sneakers, which she buys in 2nd-hand stores. She has shoulder length brown hair complimenting her blue eyes well. She either wears her hair open or hold together with a rubber band. The only jewellery she wears are ear rings and a small silver necklace that once belonged to her mother. She is, while looking quite cute, unremarkable. In a group of people she most likely won’t stand out. She often keeps a neutral face, hiding her thoughts deep inside her as she doesn’t want to reveal how easy it is to hurt her. Among friends or in a relaxed environment she often smiles and her eyes often sparkle with waggishness.
Personality: Lucy’s personality has two sides. Some people would say that Lucy is shy, but those who know her better won’t agree. She just is afraid to let people getting close to her and she prefers to keep strangers at distance, as she is afraid of losing them again. She is – more out of habit than of choice - a lone wolf as she doesn’t want to depend on others. She prefers to stay in the background and to not get noticed. She is polite and friendly to everyone, but stays no committal most of the times. Often people interpret that as a disinterest on her side, dismissing her as a social outcast. Which makes it hard for her to make new friends. Inside she carves for friends and even to have a family –as unlikely that seems. Among friends and familiar people she blossoms. There she talks more, is happy to engage in conversations about various topics, makes jokes and is sweet and friendly. Inside she is a sweet and light-hearted girl, one that enjoys the company of people. Lucy is very loyal towards the people who are close to her. Lucy is an optimistic person and she always recovers fast from a blow-backs. The downside is that she has a tendency to keep her anger inside her. It does take much for her naturally good mood to darken, but that never lasts for long.Your VicesLikes: flowers, marine-blue, sun, time for herself, summer, having easygoing moments, swimming
Dislikes: liar, racists, fault-finder, people showing off with their money, idiots, chinese food, winter and snow

Fears: to get abandonned again, darkness,

Any Other Important People: "aunt Bertha" (deceased)HistoryNo one knows who Lucy’s parents are, not even her exact birthday is known. A nurse found her someday in front of a province hospital. The authorities did their best to find out who her parents were, but weren’t successful. After a few weeks they gave her into the care of Bertha, a retired midwife. One of Lucy’s earliest memories is finding her “aunt” bertha lying motionless in the living room. The elderly woman had a stroke from which she never fully recovered. A few weeks before her 4th birthday the authorities decided the place her in a different foster home at the opposite side of the state. One morning a social worker came too pick her up. Lucy didn’t want to leave and the last thing she remembers about “aunt” Bertha is her waving after the care. Lucy learnt years later that the woman had died about nine month later after a 2nd stroke.
Lucy never felt at home in her next foster family. Her foster parents only cared about the money they got from the government for her and the three other foster kids. For most of the time Lucy was on her own. She stayed there until a young and more committed social worker got assigned to her. After inspecting the family she managed to get Lucy transferred in a new foster home. She promised to look for another foster family, one that would really take care about her. Nothing happened for months and finally Lucy started to give up the hope to ever find a true home. Her social worker kept encouraging her, but finally she accepted that she would stay in the foster home until she was old enough to life on her own. Making friends in the foster home was difficult, they never knew how long someone would stay, some kids only stayed for a few days, other stayed for a few month and a few were permanent residents. Life wasn’t bad at the foster home, she had a bed to sleep in, the food was edible, but money was tight and the staff never really had time for her.
Nothing happened until a few months before her 13th birthday when her class went to seaside. Claire loved swimming and diving, she always looked forward to next change to go swimming into the sea. As always she had brought her bathing suit with her. Most of her class thought that the water was too cold for swimming, but not for Lucy. During the lunch break she changed into her bathing suit and dived into the sea. Soon she had brought some distance between her and the beach, daydreaming about better times and dolphins swimming with her. And suddenly she was a dolphin herself, gliding through the water elegantly. It didn’t last long and after a few moments she was back into her human form. Lucy wasn’t sure if that really had happened, maybe her classmates had been correct and the water really was too cold for swimming. Lucy turned around and headed back to the shore. It had been a nice daydream, but nothing more.
When Lucy returned from school the next day, her social worker was already waiting for her at her foster home, informing that they had hopefully found a foster family for her and explaing to her all about meta-humans and Hammel. Lucy didn’t’ know what she should think about all this, but she hopped that she’ll finally find a home….Roleplay ExampleSee the posts of my earlier character here! What About You?Name: Fiona
