Madison had yet to spend the money her grandma gave her for Christmas and decide maybe she could do a bit of shopping for some art supplies, take some pictures, and explore her new city a little. After all she was going to be living here for at least the next few years she might as well get to know what the city had to offer. She wanted to get an early start on her exploring leaving her enough time in case she got lost so she took the 11:30 bus downtown. Madison was shopping for a few hours before her stomach started to growl. I needed to find a place to get something to eat before I keep shopping, Madison had thought to herself.
So here she was with her camera dangling from around her neck and shopping bags full of art supplies, library books, and a few cute hats and accessories she found in New2You on her arm waiting in the line at Velvet-Tone Coffeehouse. She didn't really need the caffeine because Madison was already always full of energy but she thought since she was hungry and craving sweets why not also get something to drink it with. She knew from past experience when her mom let her drink some of her coffee that she probably should of gone with decaf so she wasn't bouncing all over the place but when she saw what the girl a couple people in front of her was getting she couldn't help but change her mind. When she got up to the counter she smiled. “Hi can I have some sugar cookies and Espresso Con Panna with extra whip cream please. It sounds super yummy”. She took out the money and paid the girl making sure to leave a tip and grabbed her stuff trying to make sure not to drop anything. She desperately looked around for an empty seat but only saw people sitting with friends or families all unfamiliar faces to her. Madison was use to not knowing people seeing how she moved around a lot but usually she a least had her parents to keep her company. Right now she was just by herself which made her feel lonely.
She walked toward the back until she spotted an empty table in the back. Madison sat down putting down on one of the three seats around her. She looked around at the people in the shop smiling and laughing feeling lonely. Taking her camera from around her neck she started looking at the pictures she had taken on it. A lot of them were her parents and her in different places and some others were just places they had gone. She stopped on a picture of her father and her at Mount rushmore looking like they were picking the president's nose. It was one of her favorite pictures of her father and her. She stared at it in her own little world wishing he was here with her.
