[Carleigh Davidson]

"What's her power?" Carleigh asked out of curiosity. She'd heard the girl's name before in fleeting conversations, but nothing stood out. "It's such a badass snowfort and I am honoured to be able to use it." She said with a wide grin.

Carleigh laughed at Sammy calling herself a reverse pyro. Now that she said that, it did seem true. Whenever Carleigh wanted to go bask in the sun, Sammy always hid out in the shade with at least two water bottles. "Lucky bum." she said with a pout. Even with the small transfer, Carleigh felt warm and comfortable outside in the snow.

Sammy's snowball hit Carleigh on the knee. She squealed, jumping around as if she had just been shot with a bullet. In her books, it was basically the same thing.

"Psychometry. She can see an object's history. Isn't that the coolest?" Sammy gushed before beaming at Carleigh's words. Her fellow blonde never failed to surprise her with the right words.

Sammy couldn't help but laugh at Carleigh's grouse. It was true though, her ability was the exact opposite of someone else with the same ability. She embraced the heat which made her body temperature always high enough to withstand the cold but because she was always warm, whenever she was in warm weather, she suffered. Darned side effects.

Gasping at Carleigh's reaction, Sammy peeked out of the tree to see if her friend was okay. "Car, are you okay?" She asked.

Carleigh had never heard of the power before, but it did sound interesting. Unique and something useful. She nodded in agreement with a beaming smile. "Definitely cool. I'll have to meet her one day!" Carleigh loved having a huge circle of friends and then a smaller one with her best friends. The more, the merrier, in her books!

"Oh yeah, I'm fine, just being a little bit dramatic." Carleigh said sheepishly, her cheeks flushing with a bit of colour from embarrassment. "Didn't mean to cause a scene." On that note, she bent down to scoop up more snow in her hands. Right now, Sammy was kicking her ass and she needed some sort of redemption in their snow war.

"I'll arrange a meet! I've been meaning to ask her out with us for ages." She nodded with a wide grin. Their similar outlook on friends was what brought them together in the first place so it wouldn't hurt to spread the love, would it? Even if she conveniently forgot that Penelope preferred being alone.

At the reassurance that her friend was indeed fine, Sammy gave out an evil laugh and threw a snowball high in the air in Carleigh's direction only to have it fall inches away from the hypnotist. "Gosh darnit." She snapped her fingers in consternation before packing the snowballs a little tighter into each other.

"You can never catch me, hahaha!"

"Sounds good to me!" Carleigh exclaimed. Nothing better than a large friendship group! Plus, the Penelope girl sounded like a sweetheart. She laughed at her friend's evil laugh, stumbling through the snow to try and get a better target of her friend. "I'm going to annihilate you!" Maybe not so much. Carleigh missed her target again, swearing under her breath.

Watching the snowball land nearby, Carleigh shook her head. "Sammy, you're lucky you're a cutie 'cause otherwise you wouldn't have gotten away with this." she said as joke, blindly launching a snowball into Sammy's general vicinity.

"Nooo!" Sammy exaggerated her exclamation before giggling behind the tree she had taken refuge from. The sudden appearance of the snowball beside her made her squeak.

Carleigh's reaction made her snort and giggle. "Don't start with me, Car. We all know you're the cute one in our group." She retaliated before gasping when the snowball hit her leg. "Augh. You caught me." She fell to the ground, making exaggerated noises, flailing in the snow, just waiting for her friend to check up on her.

The tree would have been a good place to hide. Carleigh ducked behind the snowfort with a giggle. Her hands formed a couple more lumpy snowballs that weren't held together all that well. She tossed one, and before it even hit the ground, the snowball fell apart. The other when she left abandoned on the ground when Carleigh heard her gasp.

"No way. We're all equally cute." Carleigh darted around, impersonating some sort of James Bond move, except not as smooth. She giggled, fist pumping. "Yes! Go me! Does that mean we're tied now?" Forgetting about the cold and everything, she frowned slightly as she trudged over to Sammy. "Saaaaaaammmmyyyy." Carleigh sang, off key. "You gonna admit defeat?" she asked, grinning.

Sammy snorted and laughed at Carleigh's remark. She wasn't about to deny that mostly because the remark also included Calliope, and Calliope was most definitely cute.

Beautiful.

Sigh...

Blinking as she heard Carleigh's voice come near, Sammy peeked until she saw Carleigh's feet and grinned widely.

"Syke!" She squealed and threw a flurry of snow up in her best friend's face with a laugh. "Never admitting defeat!"

"Speaking of cute... we need to go clothes shopping!" Carleigh squealed, off in her own little imaginative world. The girl loved the mall and shopping. She needed more cute clothes... actually, no. She didn't but she wanted more. Plus it was fun taking her two best friends shopping.

She stopped, breathing hard with a grin. Carleigh shuffled closer, evilly laughing. A-ha! She would win!

Or not.

Carleigh felt the cold snow hit her face, screaming in response. She tried wiping the icy mess off of her face, the snow sticking to her eyelashes and loose hair strands. "Sammy! You are going to pay!" Carleigh bent down, furiously picking up snow and tossing it in her general direction. "Cheater!"

The idea of shopping for cute clothes both intrigued and scared Sammy. On the one hand, she loved cute clothes but on the other, what if they caught fire? She didn't dwell too long on it before responding with an enthusiastic "Mmhmm!" because spending time with her two best friends pretty much outweighed her fears.

The flying snow caught Sammy everywhere and she laughed, tackling the other girl into the snow and tickling her on her mid-section. "Call mercy!" She teased with a laugh.

She may be graduating soon but that did not mean she was ready to let go of her childhood.

"Yay!" Carleigh squealed, grinning. Like the stereotypical teenage girl, Carleigh loved spending time hiding out in the nearby mall. It let her feel a bit more normal with her friends, as campus was a reminder of her power and being far away from home.

"Ahh!" She screamed, falling into the snow. Luckily, it was compacted yet fluffy enough to break her fall so she felt no pain. Carleigh rolled around in the snow, trying to escape from Sammy. It was hopeless. She giggled, trying to push her best friend's hands away from her stomach. Through her layers, she was still quite ticklish. "Never!" Carleigh exclaimed breathlessly. Okay, maybe she would have to.

Heaving, Carleigh sighed while still giggling. "Fiine, mercy." she said, grasping onto Sammy hands. "You've won." she pouted.

Carleigh's exclamation made Sammy tickle her even more until she finally conceded. Her laughter didn't recede as she smushed her best friend's cheeks together. "Yes I have." Sammy nodded and rolled off the girl on to her back, breathing heavily and laughing still.

For a while, Sammy just enjoyed the silence, thinking back on the earlier conversation she had had with the girl by her side. She wasn't bummed about the conversation any more, thanks to Carleigh, but she did know she would have to eventually talk to Calliope about what had happened. She missed Calliope.

"Thank you, Car." She finally said, taking Carleigh's hand and squeezing it lightly. "I needed this."

Breathing heavily, Carleigh clutched her stomach with a grin. It was nice to be able to breath again without giggling and Sammy tickling her stomach. She laughed again, rolling over onto her side, facing her friend with a wide smile. "I'll be victorious next time." she vowed, shaking her fist in the air.

Watching Sammy's face, Carleigh fell silent. She looked like she was focused and thinking about something else, and silence helped with that. The only sounds came from their breathing, falling into a rhythm.

"Hey, no worries." Carleigh finally said with a sweet smile, squeezing Sammy's hand in response.

Carleigh's display of determination made Sammy giggle and give the other blonde a thumbs-up. "Maybe I'll not cheat. Maybe." She squinted before collapsing into another fit of giggles.

As her laughter died down, so did her smile. She was still happy; how could she not be? But any evidence would need a telepath to decipher.

The hand squeeze made the smile return, however and Sammy reached out to kiss the other blonde on the cheek. "You are the greatest friend any girl could ever ask for. And now I want hot cocoa. Race you to the canteen!" She yelled out as she scrambled to get up, pulling Carleigh with her before shooting off across the quad with her giggles.
