Nothing like sitting at The Churchkey Bar on a Saturday night. It was a nice place, in Kristina's opinion without feeling overwhelmingly expensive or classy. Wearing one of her go to bar outfits, she sat there with a Fireball and a glass of water. She promised not to drink before her friend Valerie got there but desperately needed a perk up. If Val arrived when Kristina looked as depressed as she did, her friend would surely shove a million drinks in her face. Picking up the glass, she swirled the drink around. Even after attending a party every so often, Kristina still didn't understand the hype of getting shitfaced. The only reason she had a nightlife was due to befriending Valerie.

Kristina definitely wasn't a heavy drinker, nor one to get drunk. She took herself too seriously to turn into a giggly schoolgirl while intoxicated. Running a finger over the rip of her water glass, Kristina stared at the clock with a small sigh. She didn't know why she felt so low and uninspired lately. Her muse for art was slipping and all the girl wanted to do was sit in her apartment and sleep. Maybe cry a little.

On that note, she held her hand up. "Another Fireball please."

Outfit Reference

Hanging up on Noah after a mushy goodbye on the phone, a threat to call later and then a whispered "I love you", Valerie left her apartment to meet up with her friend from Vermont U. Dressed in a simple little black dress and black peep toe pumps, Valerie was more than ready to have a little fun with Kristina.

Not aware of the other girl's dilemma, the dark-haired collegiate was in high spirits when she entered the bar. 

Discarding her jacket at the entrance, she went straight to where she found the other brunette. "Kris!" She announced herself, squeezing the other's girl's shoulder and slipping into the chair beside her. "Have you been waiting long?" Valerie asked before ordering her usual and finding her friend already with a drink.

Raising an eyebrow, Valerie leaned forward and teased her friend. "You started without me, didn't you?"

Kristina took her shot with a wince. There was that weird girl who spooked her earlier when she was actually in the mood to take photos. Not to mention her sister and her were in the middle of a petty argument at the moment. Apparently, Kristina was unapproachable and the girl had no idea where her sister got that idea from. All of that, plus stress from other classes... equaled the need to go out with Valerie.

Hearing her shortened name, Kristina instantly knew it was Val. She was, afterall, the only person she allowed to give her a nickname. With a smile, she waved to Valerie. "Hey Val!" she responded, with forced cheerfulness. "Nah, I came early anyway."

Looking towards her now empty shot glass, Kristina sheepishly grinned. "Had to babe. Been a real shitty week. You may even see me drunk." she teased, then shook her head. "I'm sorry, normally I don't headstart.. but I can wait for ya to catch up."

She sighed, looking gratefully towards her close friend. "Thanks again for coming out with me tonight. I need the escape."

"Okay." Valerie nodded and patted Kristina's knee before turning to her friend properly, immediately on alert when she mentioned her shitty week. "Oh my. How exciting." She forced a grin before concern washed over her face. "No need for the thanks, honey." The smile she gave this time wasn't forced as she squeezed her friend's knee lightly.

"Do you want to tell me about it or do we get drunk first?" Valerie asked, half joking.

She and Kristina hadn't been friends for long but Valerie had already considered her to be one of her closer college mates, even though they didn't go to the same college. So when she admitted to having had a bad week, Valerie had to ask.

Snorting, Kristina shook her head back and forth. Exciting was one way to describe it. "Nothing really all that exciting. This weird girl deemed that I was stalking someone and I'm kind of arguing with my sister." She shrugged, trying to play it off as nonchalant. Really, she had no idea how to handle all of this and the only thing Kristina concluded was she needed to possibly let her inhibitions go and get shit faced.

She linked her fingers with Val's for a quick squeeze and sighed. The girl rarely spoke of her emotions so that felt like a huge rant session.

Kristina waved down the bartender, smirking at Valerie. "My vote is to get drunk and think later." she said, with authority, sounding exactly like her friend.

Valerie's brows furrowed in the middle as she gave Kristina a look of disbelief. The other brunette had never given off any kind of stalker vibe as far as Valerie was concerned so the weird girl's accusations seemed pretty damn wild to Greenview collegiate.

The sisterly arguing brought Valerie back home. She missed her younger sisters and wondering how they were doing. They did get into arguments but nothing remotely major. They were a pretty tight knit family so the fighting was usually resolved in a day.

Which was why she couldn't relate to Kristina's gripe but she kept up her interest in it. "I'm sure it'll smooth over the next time you guys talk." She reassured the other girl, unlinking their fingers so that she could rub Kristina's back.

"Now that's what I'm talking about. Barkeep, another round of all this please and keep them coming."

"I hope so." Kristina agreed with another small sigh. Now that she was thinking about it, her mood was going downhill, fast. She decided to brush the fight with Sofie to the far corners of her brain, and focused on now.

She graciously looked at her friend, and then towards the round of drinks heading their way. "I am the luckiest girl alive." she concluded with a grin.

Taking ahold of one of the glasses, she raised it up, waiting to toast her friend. "To friendship and possibly getting drunk." The usually serious Kristina hesitated slightly on the possibly.

"Damn straight." Valerie chuckled and raised her glass to Kristina's. "Amen to that." She downed her drink in one go and hissed at the burn in her throat. "Possibly? How 'bout inevitability?" She smirked and downed one more drink before jumping off her stool, tugging at the other brunette.

"Come on girly, we're gonna dance your blues away." Crooking her finger, gesturing for Kristina to follow her, Valerie already started dancing to the song already playing.

Kristina's lip twitched into a smirk after Val's did. She trusted her friend, and who knows? Maybe it would be fun to let herself go instead of always being the DD and watching her friend have a great time. Kristina almost hated herself for thinking that way, but it was time to let loose a little.

When their round of drinks came, Kristina grabbed one and quickly shot it back before being dragged with her friend. Her eyes widened as they approached the dance floor. Oh nonono... "Val..." she protested, pulling away a little. "You know I don't dance." She watched her friend dance, opening her mouth to argue again but gave a defeated sigh. "If you say so." On that note, she started dancing with her friend, a bit awkwardly.

With her hand wrapped around Kristina's, Valerie threw her hair this way and that, letting the music dictate her motions. She didn't even listen to or really care about Kristina's objections. The main reason why they were out was to forget anything bad that was happening in their lives.

Although to be perfectly honest, nothing was wrong with Valerie's life. Of course, she wasn't about to rub it in Kristina's face. Not when she knew the other brunette was having a hard time. But a dance was a dance and dancing after drinking could solve problems momentarily. And that was what Kristina needed right then.

"Shake your hips girly." Valerie laughed, placing her hands on Kristina's hips and moving them left and right. They were getting some attention from a few guys around, but Valerie paid no mind to them.

Kristina allowed herself to be led by her friend, watching her intently. A flash of a smile appeared on her face. Val was so carefree. To tell the truth, Kristina was kind of jealous of her friend's nature. She watched a little longer then necessary, and shook her head. Maybe she could teach her to stop being so uptight.

Still a bit rigid, Kristina eventually let herself loosen up after a couple minutes. The few drinks were making their way through her system, loosening up the girl. She laughed, throwing her arms in the hair and moving around. She felt good. Real good. Kristina moved her hips back and forth, allowing the music to dictate her attempt at dance moves. "Look at us garnering attention." she said, with a smirk.

Unaware that Kristina was studying her, Valerie went into her usual party mode, shaking off anything bad that had happened throughout the week and just enjoying the music's beat and being with a friend. She knew Kristina wasn't the type to party hard but Valerie was not Valerie if she didn't try to get her friend a little loose.

At the sight of her friend loosening up, a huge smile lit up her perpetually tanned face. She grabbed the other brunette's hand and threw it up in the air and continued to dance to the music. It was only when Kristina mentioned that they were gathering attention that Valerie turned around to find the fact to be true.

Rolling her eyes, she let them watch. "Find any interesting ones, point them out to me. I'll wingman you." She chuckled and pulled Kristina closer.

Usually, Kristina viewed the dance floor as a tight, claustrophobic disaster zone. But hey, tonight was about pushing her limits and boundaries. Why not delve head first into everything? Val had her back. She would be okay. Kristina followed her friend's movements closely, as she was new to the whole actually dancing at the bar thing.

She giggled, waving her hands around sporadically. "I didn't realize how fun this was!" Kristina half yelled over the music, giggling again. Okay, she was a little intoxicated. This behavior was out of the norm for the usually reserved, quiet girl.

Kristina laughed, close to Val and still dancing (if you could call it dancing) her previous worries away. Her eyes darted across the faces, shaking her head. "Nah girlie, I think I'll pass." she laughed. Guys... well, Kristina never found a decent guy. She'd been in a couple of relationships with girls who were similar personality wise. Guys were just too different. "You gotta find me a Noah for myself." She ran a finger down her friend's arm, giggling again.

"Exactly! You've been missing out girliepants!" Valerie laughed, poking Kristina in her sides. But she needed to get on the other brunette's level so she waved to the waiter who nodded. Happily, Valerie shook her hair loose and continued to dance with Kristina.

Laughing at Kristina's pass, Valerie nodded as her eyes roamed the room. Yeah, none of these boys was good enough for her friend.

Distracted by the finger down her arm, Valerie smirked and captured the finger. "Or do you want a Valerie?" She asked playfully, bopping Kristina's nose with her own finger.

Her thoughts strayed to her boyfriend and her smirk softened. No, there wasn't anybody else who quite compared to her blonde ray of sassy sunshine.

The waiter came around with a tumbler and Valerie thanked him and grabbed two, downing both in one shot and slamming them down on the tray again. "Thank you, kind sir!"

Bouncing up and down, Kristina wasn't even registering anything. Not her actions, not really processing Val's words... nothing. Sober Kristina would be screaming right now in Intoxicated Kristina's ear. "I have!" she yelled over the pounding bar music.

Her smirk turned into a giggle. "Yes. I want my own Valerie." she declared. Noah could share, right? He shouldn't mind. Val was a real gem of a friend.

Whistling, Kristina held her fingers up to the retreating waiter. "And keep 'em coming!" She raised her voice, giggling. "To youth... and whatever." Kristina shrugged, blinking slowly.
