Time Warp: I'm Not Fat! (Oriel)

"Oof... You're being restless today, aren't you?" Tak mumbled, pressing a hand against her stomach as she lay on her bed, doing absolutely nothing. Her energy lately had been pretty low, for obvious reasons. Five and a half months in, and she was doing alright, but damn if she wished she could feel like doing more than she had the energy for. She didn't even feel up to tracing a new henna design on her swelling stomach. Tak was small enough, and not far enough along, that it was possible to hide the bump when she wore strategically styled shirts, but even so, it was slowly starting to become obvious; she couldn't hide it forever.

And she was getting tired of hiding the damn thing. A good portion of the school probably knew, or at least guessed, anyway. Tak could only give bloating and food excuses for so long. Today, since she planned on staying in her room, she was wearing a more curve-showing long-sleeved shirt, which pronounced the bump if nothing else.

A sudden knock on her door made Tak's head jerk towards the sound, and after a moment, she sighed. "Just a second," she called out, carefully getting to her feet and walking over to see who it was. She popped the door open and peered out to see... "Oriel?" she greeted, letting the door crack open a little more. "Hey... What's up?" She hadn't told him yet... For certain reasons. Although now, she figured, she probably wouldn't have a choice. Even he couldn't be that blind.

Oriel had been lazing about within one of his daily naps in a random place on campus when he was hit with the sudden urge for companionship. No, it was not because he was hiding in his usual tree and was just feeling uber left out at watching all of the people pass below him in pairs or groups of three, chatting it up like they were all bffs and noooothing could go wrong ever.

Watching them had made himself seriously sick to this stomach and wanting to get out of there, a lot more than usual. The cure for this sick feeling, or at least what he'd been using for it, was typically a visit to one of the many girls he kept around for such things. Just someone he could latch onto for a while and ease that rising anxiety before it became unmanageable. It didn't always lead to sex….but usually did.

His first thought went to Tak, the girl with the unpronounceable name who often drew henna on him. Oriel wasn't quite sure what made her image pop up for him today, they actually hadn't gotten together in a while. She had been seeming preoccupied with something lately, though what it was he wouldn't know, couldn't say. It wasn't like Oriel was privy to the gossip that trailed between the cliques at this school, there were only a handful of people or less that he said more than three words to. All Oriel really knew was that Tak had been looking a hella lot sexier lately. But again, he couldn't really place why.

Oriel knocked on the girl's door and almost immediately jumped her into a omg-where-have-you-been-all-my-life hug. "Nooothing," he said, drawing the word out like a child. He gave her no time more to react before hooking his arm under her butt and picking her up, kicking the door closed behind him, and then depositing her face-up on the bed. Oriel clambered on top and snuggled the tiny woman. "Just got a sudden urge to see my pretty Takagawea."

Tak hadn't been avoiding Oriel, per say, but she had been sort of... Not going out of her way to see him. While she did like him and enjoyed his company, he... Was also rather unpredictable and thus made her wary now that she had another growing being to take care of. She'd been scared at first, too, that it could possibly have been his... But, fortunately, tests had shown otherwise.

"Oof," she laughed, letting Oriel pull her into a hug. "Not too tight," she managed to plead, but fortunately it wasn't enough to make her belly get too squished. "Oh- hey!" she protested, hitting his back weakly as she was hefted into the air and carried over to her bed. She squealed lightly, wondering if he already noticed her heaviness, or the slight outward curve pressing against his torso. If he did, he didn't say anything.

She relaxed against the bed as he laid her down, throwing an arm around the affectionate boy's back as he snuggled down against her. "Oh, is that all?" she asked, raising a brow. She gave his nose a pinch for the nickname. "I'll have to kick you out if you keep the names up, mister." She spoke playfully, but the warning was there. "It's... Been a while. Um, what's new?" Her free hand automatically went to cradle herself, keeping at least a small, protective barrier between herself and her company.

Oriel didn't really notice the extra weight or if he did, he didn't care. So she packed on a few pounds? From where he was standing, it just made her look even more beautiful, especially since with that extra weight came bigger things he could squeeze. Mainly the boobs and the butt. Which he wasted no time in doing as soon as he was comfortably wrapped around the petite girl. "Oh, I missed this," he breathed into her plump chest.

He only grinned like a little boy at her warning. She ought to know by now he meant nothing by his name-calling and it was just indicative of his affection for the Native woman. Oriel lowered his head back into her bosom, shaking his head between the squishy lumps at her question. "Nothing much," he said. There really wasn't anything to report going on in his life. Except maybe… "Uhhh….I might actually pass my classes this year? Maybe?" Which was something to celebrate. Going from failing almost all his classes to actually almost passing at least half of them over the course of a year was a feat for the illiterate boy.

Oriel did happen to notice how she was 'hiding' her bulging stomach and that just made him grin. Like an expert lover, Oriel slid his hands down her sides, tracing over her lovely new curves with his fingers and then gently removing her hand from her tummy. "Aww, don't hide it Tak, it's beautiful, you got no idea how much." Oriel cradled her little bulge between his hands and lifted her shirt to show off that stretched skin, planting a kiss right above her belly-button. He went back up to take her lips and caressed his free hand over the belly and up her shirt. Finally, when he moved to work on her neck, he asked. "So…when did you get fat anyway?"

Tak rolled her eyes at Oriel's touches and caresses, letting him do what he wanted. "You're such a boy," she told him with a sigh, reaching up to twist a stray strand of hair behind his ear. "My eyes are up here, you know. You're going to make me think all you care about is what's down there." Which, if she was honest with herself, she wouldn't be surprised - what else did she expect, given her personality?

She did understand that Oriel didn't mean any harm by his names, but it still irked her. Whatever, she'd let it slide... For now. "Oh?" she asked, running her fingers up and down the boy's spine with a raised brow. "Well, isn't that a miracle," she teased. "Good for you, hun. I hope you do." Sadly, with all that had gone on in her own life, Tak wasn't expecting to graduate this year. She could only make it to about half of her classes, and she had a hard time focusing on schoolwork without getting too stressed. She' decided to cut down her work and just plan on spending next year still at Hammel, just with a light schedule to tie up loose ends.

Tak blinked and twitched a little as Oriel seemed to notice her movements, watching as the boy slid his hands along the bump without any apparent confusion. So... He did know? "Mmm... You're sweet," she told him, still bewildered, but allowed him to gently play with the soft curve. Tak even smiled as he kissed the area. "I have to admit... I've been feeling pretty unattractive lately, with this... Thing..." She met their lips together with a soft smack and gave a hum of content, all prepared to ask him when he'd found out about it when.... "Wait, what?" she demanded, eyes going wide. Wait... Oriel thought....? "I'm not fat, you moron!" All fuzzy feelings dissolving, she pouted at him, ignoring his work on her throat as she wiggled away slightly. "I thought you knew...?" Tak gave an exasperated sigh. "I'm pregnant, idiot."

"Oh no, I care about this too," Oriel assured her as one hand made its way to her bottom and gave it a firm squeeze. He was just joking, of course, Tak was useful for more than just being a body he could latch onto and fuck….she was definitely one of the few people he considered a friend. And even more, it was comforting being able to talk to someone with her kind of ability, which allowed her to treat him for who he was and not what other people's misconceptions were. He liked having someone around he could be himself with. Someone he could relax around.

Mmm….Oriel really did enjoy her body though, especially now. She was hot before, with the thick curves on her hips and thighs, but with the belly it just…stirred up something inside him that just drove him crazy. The distending of her natural hourglass shape probably would've turned off a lot of people, but to Oriel, it just made her look even more natural. And healthy. Not like some scarecrows he'd seen before. "Nah, it's beautiful. Sexy," he said, not really getting that they weren't talking about the same thing.

But then….okay, maybe he shouldn't've used that word. Maybe something a little more delicate? Like plump? Or heavy-set? Plus-sized? Big beautiful woman? Apparently she was still sensitive about it, though. "Oh, c'mon," he said, lifting himself to look at her with a reassuring smile as she pulled away. He rubbed his hand over her pot-belly again. "It ain't nothing to be ashamed of. So you put on a few pounds? Just means there more of you to play with."

But then he stopped when Tak finally told it to him straight. "Wh…..wait, what?" He wasn't sure he heard her right. "P-preg……what?" Oriel just stared at her, frozen as he tried to process the reality of that news.

"Oriel!" Tak protested, squirming with a ticklish giggle. "Sto-o-op!" In all honesty, she liked this sort of attention. She had a lot of pride, and a good portion of that pride came from needy caresses and compliments. While a lot of girls looked down on that sort of interaction, Tak loved it. And... It did help when the person doing it was someone she liked apart from the physical stuff.

But... His flattering and reassurances definitely helped with the various stresses she'd had lately. Not all of the weight comments thrown her way were kind. Well, most of them weren't, really. Tak told herself she didn't care, that it didn't matter, but it still stung.

He was being an idiot though. Seriously, Tak was amazed that he was being so ignorant, she could have laughed if not for the slight offense she felt. "It's not just me you're playing with," she grumbled under her breath. Obviously, there was another little spark of life between the two of them that Oriel was apparently barely beginning to process. She placed her hand over his against her stomach and held it there. "You heard me, sweetie," she said quietly, waiting to feel the baby kick again; she was still being restless, it was only a matter of- "There. Feel that?" She looked up to see Oriel's reaction. "Not just a few extra pounds." A small smile pulled up the corners of her lips. "And... Still a lot more to come."

She dropped her hand then; if he choose to hold his against her still, that was up to him. A sudden, cruel idea sparked in her brain, a sort of... Scare for Oriel, to get back at him for being so ignorant. "Remember that time when the condom broke?" she asked a little airily. No such time had happened, but she wanted to see him squirm.

Oriel wasn't sure he believed her. How the hell could she be pregnant? She was on the pill and she was always pretty careful with protection, that couldn't happen! She must be pulling his leg, trying to come up with an explanation for the weight gain because she was embarrassed. But when Tak covered his large hand with her own tiny one and pressed it firmly into her taught stomach…..and he felt that tiny bit of movement on the other side of that barrier, kicking against his hand…..Oriel flicked his eyes down to her stomach then back up to her eyes, his expression still otherwise completely frozen.

And then that comment about the broken condom…..when she was with him!?

Nope. This was not happening. Oriel was just dreaming and when he woke he would find out it was just one of his regular nightmares that was trying to pull a fast one on him. Reality was just trying to play a trick on him, right?

Besides, Oriel didn't remember any broken condom incident! At least none where it mattered, the boy knew the fucking words "pull-out" like the back of his hand! There's not way it could be….

But what if it did? That would mean…..

For the past minute or so, Oriel had kept that frozen stare of pure shock on his face while he looked Tak in the eye, hoping that she'd take it back or tell him she was joking or something.

When no such thing came, Oriel slowly crawled off her and sat off the edge of the bed, tearing both hands exasperatedly over his face. "Fuuuuuuuuck….." Now what? What was he going to do? He couldn't… "I gotta quit school…..I gotta get a job….fuuuck, why didn't you tell me!?" That last part may have been approaching a yell.

The silence coming from Oriel when he felt the movement against his hand made Tak feel... Almost smug, in a way. It was proof, at least, and he was eating what he'd said about her being fat. She let him try to process this new information, giving him the time he needed to wrap his brain around this obviously shocking reveal.

But then she started to get a little worried. He was being quiet for an awful long time, especially after her false 'revelation', which she was beginning to suspect might get a pretty bad reaction out of the boy once his silence broke. Still, she kept her lips shut; it was only when he broke away and started freaking out that she sighed and sat up, watching him for a moment before sliding over to sit behind him and wrap her arms around his waist. Her chin came to rest on his shoulder, and she pecked the edge of his jaw.

"Shhh, calm down," she told him, squeezing him tight. "I already had tests done. It's not you." Tak sighed. "I just wanted you to realize... I don't know, you should be more sensitive about this sort of stuff." She gave him an exasperated smile. "I can't believe you haven't noticed until now. I feel like a damn balloon." She let her arms slip to hold him more loosely, cradling around his hips.

"I do apologize, though. I wasn't thinking. It was a dumb thing to say." She blinked up at him, jutting out her lower lip in a pout. "Please don't be mad?"

If that was supposed to be a joke, it was far from funny. Downright cruel, Oriel thought. He was already on the verge of going into a panic attack, his bloodstream filled with adrenaline that was making his heart pound and his every fiber start to shake.

After all, what else was he supposed to think when given that kind of information? How the hell was he supposed to react? And how was it his fault, how had he deserved being given a heart attack just for not noticing the difference between weight gain and pregnancy!?

Don't be mad? You can't just ask a person to not be mad! You can't just ask them to not feel anxious or pissed when somebody tries to toy with their emotions like that, Oriel had had plenty of that go down on him in the past he he'd be damned if he'd let another person close to him fuck with him like that.

Oriel breathed. His face was already red with anger and he was trying with all his might to keep it down and not take it out on her….even if she was the offending party. "Damn straight," he seethed through a locked jaw. "That was a fucking stupid and cruel thing to tell me." Not funny at all. He shook his head, pulling away from her as he stood up and started pacing to the window. He opened it and started pulling out a cigarette. "I'm trying not to be…." Hopefully the hit of nicotine would help calm him down. He lit it and pulled in a deep lungful, blowing the smoke out into the courtyard. After a moment, he finally looked at her again. "So who is it? You know…the father?"

Tak hadn't meant it as a joke. Hell, even as she'd said it she knew it wasn't funny. Looking back now, she regretted the rash decision to toy with Oriel's emotions; it was manipulative, harsh, and unnecessary. And, given Oriel's disposition, which she probably knew more about better than most due to her ability, she really should have known better.

She blamed the hormones. Maybe it wasn't the right place to blame, but she was going to anyway.

Still, she needed to do something to make up for her dumb decision. Tak watched him as he went to the window, biting her lip. "I know. I'm truly sorry. I won't do anything like that again." No more stupid little lies. Granted, she hadn't actually ever told Oriel he was the father, just hinted at it. Nevertheless, it had been done, and the consequences were clear.

Tak wrinkled her nose as he pulled out a cigarette, and went to rifle through her drawers, producing a pipe and a small bag of herbs. "I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't smoke that sh... Stuff in my room," she told him, keeping her voice level as she filled the pipe and put the bag away. She offered it to Oriel, keeping a hand over her nose to keep herself from inhaling the chemicals. "Try this. It's natural, at least. It calms my nerves, too." She didn't smoke herself anymore, not until the baby was born at least, but she still thought it was better than the garbage he was putting in his lungs.

"Cameron," she replied simply, holding one arm under her protruding belly as she leaned against the wall and looked outside. "Cam Osiris? He's... Well, he's as good an option as I can get. He's been very supportive and willing, at least." Honestly, she'd be more of a wreck than she was if not for Cam. The blonde may have his habits, but he was loyal.

Oriel had gone through more than enough with manipulative women, he'd probably break to find out that Tak, the woman that he'd actually grown closest to in his year and a half there at Hammel, was exactly like the couple of bitches he'd thought were his friends only to find out they were just using him. And one using him specifically for the sake of retaliation because she couldn't take a little bit of harsh truths thrown at her from someone of a lesser pedigree.

Fuck…just thinking about it made him burn even more. And Tak…she was, she hadn't been that sort of person. He had to tell himself that she just had a lapse of maddness on account of the pregnancy and it was just a dumb mistake.

A really dumb mistake. God fuck, was he going to be paranoid around Tak too now?

The nicotine was helping a little, if only to distract him by giving him something else to focus on. He draped himself over the windowsill and took in another drag when Tak offered him some weird herbal looking shit and a pipe. "The fuck's that anyway?" he asked as he snuffed the cigarette out on the side of the building and put it back in it's original pack. He took up the pipe and bag, opening it up and giving it a careful whiff. "It ain't gonna fuck me up or nothing, right?" Assuming she gave the ok, Oriel started preparing the stuff for his own recreational use.

"Cameron?" Cam….did he know who that was? Riight, he'd seen his roommate hang out with that guy a few times. The guy was a real man-whore from what he saw. "So he's stepping up for his fuck up? That's good." Oriel may have freaked out about it, but that didn't mean he didn't want Tak and the kid to be taken care of.

Tak felt really bad about the stupid thing now. He was being so affectionate, and now it was like a barrier had been put up between them, one that she hoped she'd be able to break back down so they could get close again. Oriel was one of the few people she trusted not to be judgmental about what had happened to her; she'd gone and fucked it up with a stupid attempt at... Whatever reaction she'd been hoping to get.

"Oriel, honey..." she murmured, hesitantly reaching out to place her free hand on his, while she continued to press the other against herself. She could sense that he'd lost some of his trust in her, for good reason. "I don't expect you to forgive me, but I hope my stupid slip-up doesn't... Ruin anything..." Her anxiety rose thinking about the possibility. She glanced back at the offered herbs as he asked about it. "A mix of different things," she said quietly. "Nothing bad, I promise. I wouldn't take it if it was." She offered a small, reassuring smile, letting him prep the stuff on his own.

She nodded in confirmation, letting her hand slip off of Oriel's as she slowly went back to rest on the edge of her bed. "Yeah... He's not a bad guy," she told Oriel as she sat. "He's gone with me to some of my appointments, helped with the DNA testing..." Tak shrugged, crossing her hands together in her lap. "I... I don't know how long it will last though," she admitted quietly. "I'm... To be honest, I'm preparing myself for when he finally..." She trailed off. Cam wasn't her boyfriend. He wasn't going to stick around forever.

Given some time, some reassurance, Oriel would probably get over it enough to be latched onto her again like normal by the end of this interaction. Probably. For now, he was just trying to not take it out on her too much. Which meant taking a step back. For now.

Not forever, he hoped.

Oriel shook his head. "It's fine," he lied, trying to make it true as quickly as possible. "I'll get over it." He did find comfort in her touch, though. He wanted her to keep pursuing despite how he pushed her away. Maybe that would be enough to prove to him that she really did care something for him. It was always so hard to tell, with people lying to you left and right and putting on these faces either said one thing or another. Having grown up with nothing but that from people who were supposed to care for him, it was no wonder Oriel had trust issues. Especially since he so easily got attached too.

If Tak said it was Ok, then Oriel would believe her. Oriel had had pretty bad experiences with drugs in the past, he'd never taken anything worse than tobacco, alcohol, and weed himself, but he'd seen what the hardcore stuff had done to others. It was more than enough to make him wary about what he decided to consume. He lit the herbal mix and took it in. Hmm…wasn't bad. He let himself rest on the bed again, his back against the wall, and staying close to the window where the smoke could escape.

"Sounds like a stand-up kind of guy," Oriel commented with a nod. "I'm glad you don't gotta do this alone." Though it was true, there was no guarantee that he'd stick around just for her and the kid….which the mere thought made him start to boil again. "Want me to threaten him?" he muttered, only half-serious. He couldn't understand how anyone could even consider abandoning their own kid so easily.

Tak's brow was still furrowed worriedly, but she nodded at Oriel's reply, letting the subject drop for now. If it brought up any more issues, she'd deal with them when they came. As though reading his thoughts, she said,"I care about you a lot, Oriel. I hope you know that." She slipped her fingers to intertwine with his for a moment before she released them. ".... I can't say that about a lot of people." While she came across as easy to get attached and easy to befriend, Tak kept her heart close; no need to end up getting hurt over people who didn't care.

"It has lavender, and wild dagga, among other things," she offered, in case he still wondered. There was no way she would put anything she deemed toxic or unwholesome in her body - she cared far too much for herself to do that. She'd grown up being taught this stuff was alright; she believed it wholeheartedly. "And it's all legal," she added with a smile, in case he cared. She appreciated that he was letting the smoke out the window, but moved to sit next to him again, looping her arm with his and leaning against it.

"Heh... Yeah," Tak said quietly. "I think you'd like him, honestly. You two would probably... Get along very nicely." Considering the sexual habits of the two of them, she had no doubt what it might lead to. At the offer to threaten him, Tak shook her head firmly. "No need," she told him. "But I appreciate your concern." She could do this on her own. It wasn't like... She thought she could keep the baby anyway. But, considering how upset Oriel had just been, she wasn't going to bring that up. Her free hand curled around her stomach again, and she stared down at it, suddenly feeling very small. ".... I'm scared, Oriel," she whispered.
