Lani wrapped his arms around her and simply shook his head. They were not going to get into this now, right now Adrianna needed help. He hummed softly in her ear and smoothed her hair. His best friend was so wounded and there was nothing he could do about it. He just wanted to take her back to where she was when they first met, take her back and wash her clean of all of this pain. He had started this, he might not have caused her to fall so far but he had initiated the downward slope. He was holding her so tightly that he wouldn’t have noticed if she picked up her feet and was just hanging there, although it would be good she didn’t because that would probably tip them off balance.
“Come on, let’s get out of the cold.” He said and released her from his vice grip but kept an arm around her holding her close still. He would walk as slow as she wanted or as fast as she wanted, though his legs ached and would much have rather walked at tortoise speed. He was taking her back to his place and he wasn’t going to hear any arguments about it. He didn’t want to leave her along right now and honestly his apartment was loads more comfortable than her dorm room, not matter how expertly she had decorated it. “I’m gonna make you some hot chocolate, and I think I might have some ice cream or oreos or something?” This was what a good best friend did when their best friend was heartbroken right? Lani wasn’t sure, when he’d shut himself in his room after he and Odion broke up he hadn’t eaten a whole lot. He just slept and moped and cried.
When they got back to his apartment he swiped away a clear space on the couch and sat her down and pressed a cup of hot chocolate into her hands. “Do you wanna talk about it?” Lani asked softly as he sat down next to her, the worry etched into his eyes. He was going to murder Venn. Not just trying to scare him, this time Lani was going to kill him.
