Feel the Beat (George.)

As soon as the weather got slightly better, Cameron was outside playing guitar. He was missing the Cali weather already, and was ready to be outside again as much as possible. He would do everything outside if the weather was nice – studying, playing guitar, stunts obviously. He was planning on doing some more cliff diving videos as soon as he was all done playing catch up with his Hammel things. Yup, life was going to be good once more, even if he had to make it so.

Cam cleared his throat as he tuned and fiddled with the guitar strings. He didn’t have the best singing voice, but he was alone for the time being, and actually enjoyed singing so, whatever. Do your best and fuck the rest, right? Right.

Strumming and picking at strings, Cam started playing a slow version of ‘Sexy and I Know It’ that he had heard on YouTube once, and started singing along. He loved that the snow was melting and Spring was on the way. His guitar case was behind him so he could focus on the notes, and he closed his eyes to really feel out the rhythm.

George would probably never miss the English weather - it was always monkeys outside. Meaning it was fucking freezing, especially in Winter. Summers weren't so bad anymore, but they were getting to the point where they were too hot... she could never win.

American weather was bloody brilliant though. Easier to deal with anyway. The cold here was sometimes the tepid of England, if you know what I mean. George could deal with the cold better than half of the people here, it was brill. She could walk around in a t-shirt when everyone else was wearing cardigans. Less effort for the win!

But the weather today was good, and George was glad. She strolled outside (outside? holy shit) with her hands in her pockets, a smile on her face and a fedora resting peacefully atop her head. This was one of the rare moments when she wasn't flamingly hyper and ready to rocket into space. And - ooh, guitar!

Georgina heard the strings being plucked at and her ears pricked up in interest, like an intrigued puppy. She scanned the courtyard and found the player, a boy. Alone. Well.

That was about to change!

She bounded over semi-subtlety, feet crunching on some of the half-melted snow, and listened intently once she was close enough to the boy playing. When he began singing, she recognized the lyrics almost instantly and had to restrain from singing along. It was difficult as hell. So difficult in fact, that she did begin to hum. She hoped it wasn't distracting - it wasn't out of tune or anything. It was just... humming.

Cam could hear someone humming along with him and it made him smile. Music was meant to be enjoyed by all. When Cam finally did open his eyes, he spotted a pretty girl wearing a fedora, standing a ways away from him. He himself was still wearing a sweater – Cali was a lot warmer than this joint. He stopped playing and grinned, lifting his hand in a little wave.

“Were you eavesdropping on me?” He laughed a little bit and started back on the guitar. The melody picked up again but he wasn’t singing this time. Even a show off like Cam could be a little self conscious. “I didn’t know I could have real life stalkers!” Now he was just teasing to get a rise out of the girl.

“Have you heard this cover before?” He asked, inviting her to come sit down or come closer at least. “What’s your name beautiful?” Cam was a forever flirt and it didn’t matter who it was – he could find beauty in anyone, because there was always something redeemable and lovable about everyone.

Noooo, he stopped playing! But... he was smiling and being friendly and stuff, so that wasn't necessarily an awful circumstance. At the question, she rocked on her heels, a childish grin gracing her lips as she glanced around 'innocently', "Maaaybe." She joked.

And she was totally a stalker - that was why the internet existed. Well, she was a celebrity stalker, not a person stalker. Celebrities were people but sometimes, it sure didn't feel or seem like it. "24/7, man."

George shook her head, approaching the stranger/soon to be friend if all went well. "Never heard it." Which was a shame, it sounded really good, even for a song like that which you expect to be faster than the rate it had been going at. She liked his version well, not matter if he was the primary source or not.

The British girl smiled a little awkwardly and looked at the ground. "Uh... George. I'm George." She couldn't hold back a minor blush from.the compliment, not matter how intentional or truthful or whatever it was. "Yourself?"

Cam nodded nonchalantly, as though this happened all the time. It seemed that anyone doing anything out of the normal here at Hammel was bound to get noticed by someone else. Singing, dancing, playing music – it seemed to invite people in. It was just another reason why Cam loved doing what he did. He loved the attention of it all.

“Look it up some time,” Cam suggested, his fingers poised for another song as soon as he finished this one up. “It’s by Noah, probably one of the top covers on YouTubes me thinks.” He smiled at her and gave her a wink, wondering what kind of person she would be like to talk to.

“George,” Cam repeated, momentarily stopping the playing as he decided on another song. “I like the accent, very alluring,” he commented, gesturing with his guitar at her. “Do you play at’all?” He asked, before going into another song with gusto. This song was really upbeat and he didn’t know the words, but it had a fun rhythm. He was pretty sure it was by Colbie Cobalt, or something like that.

Simply put, Georgina Speer liked making friends with people. Because everyone was so unique and diverse - you'd find as few who were similar, but no two people were exactly the same. Not even in those creepy gestalt pairs. So if you were gonna sit around and shove a hobby of her's im her face, she was going to say something.

Oh, she was going to many things.

George was so letting herself down here! Wasn't she supposed to be addicted to the internet, and YouTube, and all things musical? HOW HAD SHE NOT COME ACROSS THIS? "Sounds like a plan." She agreed... almost outwardly calm. Well... ok. And there was a wink. Was he trying to make her spasm? She wasn't used to this. But yeah, if she had the brain capacity to hold more than a singular thought as once, she would hopefully remember to look up the cover thing. Because it sounded gooooood.

"Thanks, I got it for my birthday." Wait, fuck, you were supposed to say that about names, not accents... ugh, fucking tits, man. It kind of fit... but not well enough for George's humour or liking. "I do." She revealed, beaming, she was very proud and glad of that fact.

Now, George knew this song! Well, she knew a whole bunch of different songs. So, like any sane person, she sang along, a blush spraying onto hee cheeks when she realized that... this boy wasn't singing as well. Who was this, anyway? Her pitched voice came to a halt, "Who... what's your name?"

WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON. George needed to be around more flirting people, so she could understand hope to cope. And breath like a human being and not some unicorn with problems.

Ans yes, specifically a unicorn.

Cam too also enjoyed making friends and having a large group of people he could hang out with. There was something special about all the diversity in knowing so many people. He was outgoing and friendly enough to have many friends, which also meant he attracted a lot of trouble. He was the kind of person who easily fell in love, and really had no preference as to what person he could find attractive.

Cam nodded – people said things like ‘sounds like a plan’ when they were just trying to be nice. Oh well, not everyone could be obsessed with YouTube the way he was. Mostly he did stunts on his own channel, but he also had a lot of songs on there, because it was easier to sing by yourself in private, and then publically broadcast it permanently, then sing and play in a public place. Playing he had no problem with, but singing! Oh if only he was as good as Noah!

“What? You got an accent for your birthday?” Cam laughed lightly, wondering if his California-esque accent was showing at all. It probably was, since he had been there for almost a year before coming back to Hammel. “I musta missed somethin’ there,” he said, laying the blame on himself for not understanding the joke.

Cam played the song with gusto, and he couldn’t help but beam as she sang along. She had a pretty good voice, and obviously wasn’t shy. When Cam was happy, he let his power shine, and right now little sunbeams were dancing along to the music, playing with the dead grass which was trying to make itself new.

Sensing her embarrassment, Cam stopped playing and stuck his hand out, reaching across the guitar towards her. “Cam, at your service.” He offered an inviting smile. “You have an awesome voice! Got any requests for songs?” This time he would sing with her.

If George could hear his thoughts right now... she was obsessed with YouTube! And the internet in general! She could quote memes on the spot, list about 100 YouTubers off of the top of her head, know exactly which channel you needed to go to for whatever you needed, knew multiple unhelpful, but hilarious, websites that did shit all but were entertaining as fuck! She had her own channel, but she hadn't really posted anything. Oddly enough, she wasn't the type. She'd considered doing what people like AmazingPhil do, talking to a camera about embarrassing experiences, but she didn't... get embarrassed. She knows when she's done something embarrassing, but she generally didn't feel anything. Well, nothing noticeable... but yeah, YouTube. It was her second home.

She shook her head, "Nah, don't worry. I fucked up the punchline is all." She smiled and sighed a little - oh look! An instance where she should be embarrassed! It was tremendous. "What I meant was that I was born in London. British girl, right here." She saluted him stupidly. She would try to determine his place of existence from his accent, but he could never distinguish between them. In the nicest way possible, they all sounded the same to her.

...okay, so maybe she was lying earlier. She did feel embarrassment sometimes, she's HUMAN, people! Stupid, stupid, stupid... ugh, never mind. His name was Cam. Cam, like a camera. Cam Ca-Cam Cam Cam Cammy Cam Cam Coo Crem Cerm Carm Cram Cam-de-Cam-Co. Cam. She giggled (giggled? Seriously?) at his words - he was so nice! "Thaaaaank you! And... um..." Oh, Jesus Christ! She usually had an arsenal of songs in her head, where were they now?!

"I have no idea what you know. Also I seem to have lost my mind." That was always a great way to keep a conversation going... yup. "What do you know?" If he started spewing off artists or songs or whatever that she liked, she'd probably start making funny noises. It wasn't as if she did that anyway on a regular basis or anything.... meeeheh.
