It hadn't become a regular place for her to go, but Mina found that when she went to that pond, people generally left her alone, and even if it was warmer and there were more people willing to hang around outside than in Winter. She didn't know why she didn't think of it sooner, to just make it her usual lurking spot. Then again, she didn't have an issue with her usual place - the library. The librarian was too skittish to be a bother for long, and the point of that place was to be quiet. And if all else failed, she had her room.
Maybe it was the change of scenery. She wasn't sure. She didn't exactly care. It was just what she wanted to do. So she did it.
However, when Mina arrived at that pond, there were people around. And she couldn't be bothered to deal with people. There were other ways of getting rid of them (i.e. threatening - some people walked in the opposite direction just at a look from her), but she had a feeling these dolts would be a group of those who would say things like 'You think you're so hard, you're just a wussy girl/a wimp/a coward!' The only part of that statement which was true was the female part. And she wasn't afraid to disprove them. But she didn't have the energy. And she didn't want to go anywhere else.
Next best option... seemed to be getting out of sight. She looked around, and then up. A tree, the tree that sat right next to the body of water.
That would do.
With not too many difficulties, the dark-haired girl hoisted herself up into the branches and came to rest on a decently sized one. No-one would bother her up here. And she'd be able to see if anyone was thinking of bothering her, because she could see all the people milling around uselessly underneath her. It was almost perfect.
If only the world had a mute button.
