The easy S T U F F . . .Name: Ides Patrick Alevi
Nickname: None
Age: Nineteen-years-old
Member Group: Student at University of Vermont
Power(s): Super intelligence/recall-- Ides' mind is much like a computer. While some people have “mind palaces”, he has a “mind computer”, in which he clearly visualizes windows of information on command. Though when he was first learning to control this power, he found himself completely flooded and barely able to cope with the onslaught of information, he has since learned to keep it in check to a point that past information doesn't surface unless summoned. However, current information and stimuli he still has trouble sifting properly, making him extremely distractible if not in certain controlled environments, such as his very carefully organized apartment.
He has very near perfect recall, some would say photographic memory. The amount of information he has stored in his mind triggers regular headaches. When he is processing a lot of information or very deep in thought, he may as well be unconscious to the world around him, often entering a trance-like state in this situations. He has a terrible sense of time, whether in or out of these trances, and because of the level of activity in his mind, also has difficulty remembering to be places on time. It isn't that he forgets what time he needs to leave, but that he simply doesn't think of what he needs to be doing. Therefore, he is heavily reliant on his watch, which he sets regularly for appointments and the like. He also finds abstract thoughts, and ideas not based in logical thinking, hard to grasp and accept.
Also, like many metas with mental powers, he suffers from migraines, which vary in severity depending on how much he has been directly using his power.

Since quite young, Ides has walked the line on being completely clueless. He's often been called an airhead, and for those who merely note how he acts and carries himself, it isn't a description far off the mark. He often has a sort of dazed or vacant expression, which has subjected him to drug testing more than once, and he is known to spout off something seemingly random and unrelated to the situation at hand. However, he just as often throws out a quip that is perfectly cohesive, if somewhat sarcastic, which has led those who often spend time around him to believe that he isn't as clueless as he seems comfortable letting people believe.
Despite this exterior, and perhaps a reason for it, Ides is always thinking, observing, and creating stories in his mind. He views people as his rightful “test subjects”, though not in the traditional laboratory way. He loves seeing others' reactions to things, and so often says or does things that are considered outside the norm, purely to see what people will do. He enjoys playing devil's advocate, and will argue a point to distraction whether he believes it or not, if the mood strikes.
Despite all his testing reactions and apparent cluelessness, Ides can on occasion act “normally” with perfect ease and often for no apparent reason. When such moods strike him, he can be quite the charmer and has a bit of a competitive streak. How he acts towards someone at any given time depends on his current mood, as well as the specific person. Much like a cat, he will sometimes decide he simply does not like certain people, often for no immediately visible reason. However, he has been known to be a good judge of character, especially after having developed his power.
Though perhaps surprising, Ides has led a relatively normal life. He grew up on the east coast, went to a typical public school, hung out with a small group of friends, and spent a lot of his time running around outside. His parents gave him a lot of freedom, perhaps more than most, because both of them worked fairly intensive jobs-- his father as a doctor, and his mother as a psychologist. As an only child, Ides saw little reason to be at home much, especially if his parents weren't there. However, when he was home he amused himself with reading his parents' books on medicine and psychology. What he didn't understand, he Googled, and then used to impress his friends later.
His power didn't manifest itself until he was about thirteen and a half, and when it did it was more than a little jarring. Memories and information he had picked up over the last few days came crashing into his mind, unfiltered and definitely unchecked. His friends, who he had been hanging out with at the time, had to all but carry him into their parents' house, who in turn drove him to the hospital. Though he himself was only half conscious during this time, his parents were informed that he tested positive for being meta. A day later, during which Ides recovered from the initial shock of manifestation, a recruiter from Hammel arrived. Though still having trouble focusing, Ides found the fact he was a meta more than a little exciting. The existence of metas had been something that fascinated him for quite some time, and he'd thought more than once it would be interesting to be one, though he hadn't expected it to be so jarring and difficult a thing to deal with.
At Hammel, he was a quick and avid student, eager to learn about not only his own power, but also get to know other students and their powers. Though he graduated at eighteen, he still meets regularly with a trainer, in hopes of getting himself to be less distractible. He is currently taking classes in Investigative Journalling at the University of Vermont.
He also recently landed a job writing for a local newspaper, which he loves since one of his favorite hobbies is writing, and he hopes to one day be able to support himself completely with writing.Behind the M A S K . . .Name: Raven
