AU: Bring Me Ice-Cream(Phoenix, open?)

What happens when the entire school gets afflicted with weirdness all at once? Well, in this case, boys were girls and girls were boys. However long it lasted, it was, thankfully only a temporary condition. A few days after, nearly everyone had been restored to their proper gender and many many men were thankful to have their balls back. Except for maybe a select few. I know of only one personally though. And he....she was waxing 'poetry' of the fact with as many creative obscenities as she could muster. And that was more than a few and mercilessly flung at all and any who offended her, especially while she was raging with hormones she wasn't supposed to have.

"I want. This thing. Out of me!!" she said with a snarl as she rested her malformed body on the couch with her bare feet propped up on the coffee table.

So what was this thing? The thing that near every woman dreamed (or despaired) over having one day. Six months ago, when said school-wide affliction took place, Oriel had obviously jumped at the rare chance to fornicate as a person that he had no guarantee that he would ever be again. His partner, Tak, was also very on-board this kind of sexual experimentation. Unfortunately, nobody predicted that anything would be conceived from that brief one-time(okay it was several times) union. With the assumption that everything would be fixed within a few days, there wasn't even a thought about what might happen if they neglected to use protection. So when everyone else was restored to their proper for...Oriel did not, for the Powers That Be did not want to erase the existence that was already being grown in his belly...or rather, her belly.

Which left us with a very angry, and very pregnant, Oriel Vanguard. She glowered.

Phoenix had been quite relieved when he'd been restored to his normal body. Being a girl had been interesting and all, and he'd enjoyed a bit of trying around himself, but he hadn't had the misfortune that Oriel had. Luck, karma, whatever it was, Phen had found his normal parts restored while his lover remained the way he was. He thought at first, maybe it was just taking a little longer for some reason. But when nothing changed, he grew concerned. It wasn't a whole lot longer when they found out what exactly had happened. And Phoenix... Well, he'd been shocked, to say the very least.

So now, he was taking care of his complaining (but beautiful and, in his opinion, radiating with maternal hormones) girlfriend, pregnant with a child that wasn't his. It didn't matter - Phen had given his permission for Oriel to have his fun while it lasted, and Tak was helping a lot. Yeah, he was a little sad about the fact, but he was going to treat the kid like it was his own when it was born. In the meantime, he was being a fluttery, nervous father-to-be, doing all he could to make his darling as comfortable and happy as possible.

"I know sweetie, I know," he cooed, hovering over the girl's prone form, face creased with worry. "It's only a couple more months and this will all be over. Well, I mean, not all but..." He trailed off. He wasn't helping. "Can I get you anything? Give you a back massage? Anything?" Phoenix settled down next to Oriel and settled his hand on her protruding belly, rubbing small, soft circles over the area. He'd never felt so much affection and love in his life, anticipating what was coming. "You look beautiful," he added in a murmur, pressing a kiss against Oriel's cheek.

Phoenix was shocked. Obviously because this was entirely his problem! Oriel not turning back into a boy and instead having a gradually swollen belly was somehow so completely inconvenient to Phoenix that the boy could so self-servingly say that he was shocked! Just like a guy, Oriel was finding, making the preggo-chick’s problems all about him.

Fuck, Oriel needed a cigarette…but noooooo~!

Guess she’d have to go for the next best thing. Making Phoenix act as her very own personal slave. And once in which she could abuse without restraint for anything and everything she ever wanted, make him wait on her hand and fucking foot! “Thank you very much, sweetie, for reminding me that this shit ain’t gonna end even when it ends.” She turned her lips downwards into a moody scowl.

“Yeah, a new fucking back, cuz this bundle-of-sunshine is actively trying to break mine.” If Oriel knew how bad the soreness actually was, then he probably would’ve helped Tak a little more back when she was pregnant. Oh, well….at least she could abuse her darling boyfriend for convenient stress relief. “Hmph,” she grunted as Phoenix kissed her cheek. “You expecting me to argue or something?” As uncomfortable as she was, Oriel was still vain enough to think she was fucking hot. Maybe she should sign up for the Miss Mommy Pageant, probably take home a fortune, put it in the kid’s college fund or something. Oriel slouched further onto the couch and placed her hand over Phoenix’s on top of her protruding gut. “I’m sick of this,” she said sourly.

Phoenix would never say it aloud, but... He wondered what Tak thought about a man actually experiencing what she had, for the first time in... Well, pretty much ever. Phen was relieved it wasn't him, and he wouldn't have wished it on Oriel either, but... He thought he saw Tak smiling smugly on occasion despite her support and willingness to help. And Phen had to admit, seeing Oriel gripe and groan and complain with their little bundle of joy inside him made Phen feel useful, like he could help relieve his lover's pain and discomfort if he knew what to do.

Unfortunately, giving new backs was not one of those things he was able to do. "The crummy part of it will be over once little peanut is born," he corrected himself, hoping to make up for his not-helpful words. "And I'll do whatever I can t'help make that transition as easy as possible." Already he was constantly keeping up with doctor's appointments, medicines, what to do when the baby came... It was a lot of work, but he was happy to do it. "It'll be alright, I promise."

Phen snuggled himself closer to Oriel, curling down to rest his cheek against the taut skin of his lover's belly. "Are you hungry?" he asked, closing his eyes as he pressed several slow, adoring kisses on the swollen area, still rubbing softly. "Maybe that will make you feel better. Or... I could get some pain relievers for your back?" Phoenix looked up with obedient eyes. "Whatever you want, love."

Oriel didn’t know how women did this for nine months at a time. It had only been about 6, almost 7, months and already he was sick of the “novelty of the experience” as he so put it when it started. There was nothing novel about it, only annoying and painful. Her feet were swollen, her back aching, her breasts were big before but now they were inflated like balloons, she was afraid they were going to explode, and the extra weight protruding from her belly was severely compromising her balance and overall movement.

Fuuck…she felt like an elephant. A fucking elephant with an insatiable craving for ice-cream.

“Peanut?” Really? “What, you planning on making butter outta the tart?” Although it was true that Phoenix had been as big a help as he could. Oriel didn’t know if she’d have been able to handle it all without him. Oriel probably would’ve gone crazy(as if he already wasn’t) by the time the “peanut” was born. Though speaking of peanut butter…

“Yeah…” Seemed like the hunger never went away sometimes. Oriel grumbled and gave Phoenix a gently get as he doted on her swelled tummy. “I….I wanna go for ice cream. And peanut butter.” Her scowl had transformed into something a little more pouty. She was also sick of being confined to campus. Oriel pushed Phoenix away and started to get up.

If Phoenix could, he gladly would have taken some of the pain and discomfort from his boy/girlfriend. He hated seeing Oriel have to use so much effort to do things that should be simple, like bending over, standing up, anything. Hell, he didn't particularly wish that he could experience the same, but he almost wanted to be able to feel it for just a little while, so he could relate more with Oriel, like Tak could.

But this was where they were and what they had to deal with, so Phoenic was just going to do the best he could and hope it would be enough.

"What? No!" he replied, cuddling Oriel's belly with a protective scowl. "What would you rather I call it? Little Squishy?" Actually... That had a ring to it. "Little Squishyyyy~" he cooed, rub rub rubbing that adorable inflated skin. "I looove you~" It could hear him at this stage, right? That's what he remembered being told...

"I can get you whatever you w-" Phoenix was unable to finish as Oriel pushed him off of her stomach, and he hovered around her as she pushed herself up, making sure her back was supported and she wasn't straining anything. "Honey, it's okay, you didn't have to get up, I don't mind getting things for you," he stammered. "Or do you want t'go for a short walk or something? It'd probably be good for your circulation...." But not too far, like into town, which Phen hoped Oriel wasn't planning on doing. "Maybe we can make it to the pond."

The closest that Phoenix had ever come to this sort of pain was whenever Oriel purposely stuffed Phoenix silly with food, so much that the boy was essentially immobile. Back then, Oriel had loved seeing Phoenix like that. He had twisted fantasies of seeing Phoenix as he was with d-cup breasts and a distended belly. It was a beautiful form, in Oriel’s opinion. Just…on everyone else. Oriel did not like it if only for the fact that he couldn’t move. “I dunno. You plan on sitting on the tyke too?” she grumbled sourly.

He/She hated being so out of control of her own body. And her breasts felt like someone was constantly squeezing them, how the hell did women put up with this??

Still, watching Phoenix try to interact with the baby-to-be stirred something within that pregnant mass of hormones. Oriel was glad that Phoenix was there. If she had to go through this sort of thing with anyone, Phoenix was the one she wanted to do it with. “You’re such a dork.”

But that didn’t mean that Oriel was just going to sit around and be waited on all day. She needed to get out and get some exercise too, or at least get out and get rid of this god-for-hellish cabin fever she was experiencing. “I need to get out of here,” she growled. “If I have to spend another minute staring at these white walls, I’m gonna go crazy….” She rolled her eyes at Phoenix’s concern. “Oh, calm your tits. I’ll be fine. I’m not a fucking invalid, I can actually walk, and I’m going to the store.” Because ice-cream was calling her. She could make it, no problem. Oriel tromped to the door, hiking up her pants and pulling her shirt down over her swollen belly.

Before this change had happened, Phoenix had come to terms with the fact that he might just be completely gay, and that was alright. He'd had some fun with girls in the past, but Oriel was the only person he saw himself ever being interested in anymore, and his desire to be with women faded. Now, though, with his lover being like... This, he didn't know what to think anymore. Because there was no doubt that Oriel was... Really sexy, even like this. Especially like this. Mmmm.... "Yeah, because I'm not completely determined t'protect you, and the baby, with my life," he said with light sarcasm, giving Oriel's cheek a pinch.

He stuck his tongue out when she called him a dork, drumming his hands against his own stomach like he was playing the bongos. "You love me, though," he replied with a smile. "Just imagine what it'd be like if I was serious all the time. It would suck." Phoenix couldn't imagine not being silly.

He continued to hover around Oriel as the pregnant girl stood, prepared to help out in an instant if he was needed. "Okay, honey, we can go outside, there's no harm in that..." Phoenix wondered if there were any pollen allergies or anything he had to worry about with going out, but he couldn't think of any more reason to protest. And he wanted Oriel to be happier. He didn't, however, think it was a good idea for her to try to walk all the way to the store. "O-okay, we can head that way and see how far we can get..." he said waveringly, following after with uncertain steps. However far they made it, Phen would make the rest of the trip to get his Squishy the ice cream that she wanted. He hopped ahead of Oriel and opened the door for her, quickly slipping to walk beside her and take her hand. "I can give you a foot massage later," he offered, because Phoenix was quite certain Oriel's feet were going to hurt regardless of how far they got.

“With your—?” Did he really just say that?

Normally, when someone declared and vowed a will to protect someone important to them with their life, it was a touching, heartfelt moment. Wasn’t it? They’d feel, ‘Oh, so you really do care about me!’ or something along those lines. But when Oriel heard them…it must’ve been the hormones being out of whack, but Oriel liked to believe that she would think the same in any circumstance, even if he wasn’t unstable with pregnancy hormones.

Oriel pushed her lover back, giving him a “light” smack on the chest. “Don’t you—! Don’t you ever say you’ll die for us, if we’re in trouble you better damn well figure out a way for all of us to survive, you selfish…jerk!” She smacked Phoenix’s chest again, then dipped her head into it, feeling tears start to well up out of nowhere. Fuck, now he really did feel like a fucking girl.

“Of course I love you,” she grumbled. “I wouldn’t put up with it otherwise.” Though it was his silliness that Oriel found adorable and charming. Especially when he was fretting over a small animal or something.

Oriel was not a small animal or something.

Oriel had no intention of just going outside. He/She was on a mission for ice cream. And maybe butterfingers. And peanut butter. And…..radishes? Why would radishes go with ice cream? Either way, it’s what Oriel wanted and she was going to get them if it was the last thing she did. “Fine, you take care of my sweaty, smelly feet when we’re done, s’long as I get my ice cream.” Oriel tromped down the hall and started hiking her way down the stairs. Unfortunately, it was not to be, as by the time Oriel finished descending the stairs, she was already tuckered out. “H-hold on,” she breathed, holding onto the wall with one hand and Phoenix with the other. “I-I need a break.” When did this become so hard?

Phoenix blinked and squeaked as Oriel unexpectedly hit his chest out of the blue, surprised by the reaction. He'd expected his lover to just snort at him and roll her eyes, or something of the like - not this emotional outburst that Phen didn't know what to do with. "Okay, okay," he said breathlessly, trying not to smile with amusement. "I won't die, I promise. I gotta be around t'take care of the little Squish, don't I?" He winced as he was hit again, before wrapping his arms snugly around Oriel's shoulders, pulling her close and holding her. "Shhh... It's okay, sweetie, I'm not goin' anywhere." Secretly, he thought, though, that he would gladly give his life to save those of the ones he loved. Phoenix just hoped it never came to that.

"Put up with me? Oh, I'm hurt," Phoenix sniffled. After all the doting and comforting and work that Phen did for Oriel! Still, he wouldn't stop doing it, not ever. A happy boyfriend was what the pixie wanted, and he felt like it was his personal job to make sure that happened.

And if Oriel wanted a bunch of weird combinations of food, well, that was what she would get. Phoenix trailed behind Oriel as they slowly descended the stairs, smiling softly at the girl's snarky words. "I'll make sure you get it," he promised. He wasn't all that surprised that, by the time they reached the bottom of the stairs, Oriel seemed quite tired. Phen paused to offer his support for Oriel to lean on, wrapping an arm around Oriel's lower back in support. "Take all the time you need, honey," he cooed, leaning in and giving her a peck on the temple. "Are.... Are you sure you wouldn't rather I just went and got what you want myself? I won't be gone for more than a half-hour." He knew Oriel would never make it all the way to the store at this rate. Phoenix wasn't even sure the pond was feasible.

Stupid stupid stupid Phoenix! How could he be so selfish to just think that Oriel would be okay with Phoenix just going off and dying like a stupid martyr! Did he think that Oriel wasn’t going to miss him? Be crushed over the fact that he was gone forever from their lives? If Phoenix died, then Oriel might as well be dead anyway! Oriel and the kid needed Phoenix to stay alive no matter fucking what! “You..you’re damn right you’re not! Dying is not an option you moron!!” Even after Phoenix’s promise, Oriel still felt like wailing into her boyfriend’s chest, wanting to take in the comfort of his loving arms, if only just to assure herself that Phoenix was there and would be there for them no matter what.

How these mood swings worked, Oriel would never understand, but they were there nonetheless. One minute, Oriel would be laughing or joking or yelling, and the next she would be crying as if the end of the world was coming. Then, without any warning or hint of what the trigger was, she was right back to normal, poking at Phoenix lovingly for being such a doofus. “Keep that up, and I’ll hurt you in other ways, capisce?” she threatened, shaking her fist lightly at him.

And that was the other thing about the pregnancy, Oriel had been getting cravings for the fucking weirdest kinds of foods. Now, Oriel had always been a goddamn hoover, sucking in any kind of food regardless and in copious amount too. But even being half of her former size now, with this giant tumor growing in her belly, Oriel’s appetite had become twice of what it once was, so much that male Oriel would be shocked and wondering if there was some sort of dimensional portal in that belly instead of a half grown baby. So events like this were actually quite frequent, where Oriel demanded food and was insistent on getting it herself. Though clearly Oriel had not learned from her past mistakes. “Don’t you…call me…honey,” she heaved. “I ain’t a fucking invalid. I can…do this.” No she couldn’t. Oriel hobbled to the common room, getting a few stares other students. She approached the couch, glaring at those dweebs who were occupying it. Oriel gave them one innocent looking smile before opening her mouth. “Move!” she spat with enough venom to rival that of Erik’s.

Phoenix's amusement was turning more into guilt and worry now, seeing just how upset Oriel was getting over what he'd so easily said. "Shhh," he murmured again, rubbing up and down the pregnant girl's spine. "Nothin's gonna happen. You just gotta be good and not go and get yourself into trouble," he teased. Maybe this, at least, would keep Oriel from going off and trying to do things she shouldn't while having a little one on the way.

There was no controlling the mood swings though, and they sure gave Phoenix a hard time, but he did the best he could to manage them. He smiled weakly and pulled away a bit, trailing a strand of Oriel's long hair behind her ear. "You wouldn't hurt me," he said softly with a kiss on the nose. "I love you. And you want me t'be healthy and ready when little bumpkin is born, don't you?" Ah, all the nicknames he could think of... He couldn't wait to see if it would be a boy or a girl.

Phen tried to hide his snickering at Oriel's continuing attempt to get her own food. He would gladly let her if she could, but... He knew how tired she got from simple actions anymore, no matter how much Phoenix tried to help (when she let him). "But you are my honey," he protested, nuzzle-nuzzling his adorably pot-bellied lover's neck. He latched his plump lips against her soft, smooth skin and suckled, placing several similar kisses along her throat and jawline before releasing her to... Go terrorize some nearby students. Phoenix trailed after her, saying nothing but giving apologetic smiles to the wide-eyed teens who quickly vacated the couch to give the pregnant girl some room. "Well... That was effective, at least," he admitted, plumping up some pillows for his Squish to sit down on. "You just stay there, I'll be back before you know it." Before Oriel could protest, Phen darted off towards town, hoping the girl wouldn't do anything dumb while he was away. Maybe he should've asked George or someone to look after her...

The rubs against her back were soothing. It didn’t erase the distress entirely, seriously why would Oriel or their child be happy that their daddy let himself die for their sakes? Oriel would just feel guilty for having survived. And feel grief for him not being there. “So what? You’re blaming your death on me? You really are a selfish jerk!” She smacked him again, though it was starting to get a little more playful and less woeful.

“What makes you so sure? I bet even pregnant I could kick your ass!” Oriel may have lost all of his man muscle, but she was still feistier and more stubborn than anyone other person they knew, except maybe Kodi, who was busy going through “his” own ordeals. “‘Bumpkin’,” she scoffed. “What is this, a baby or a food group?”

Back when Oriel was a man, he could clear a room with a snort, growl, and or a glare. These days, she felt a lot less intimidating so had to up her game just to get these peons to listen to her. Though there were still people who claimed that there was nothing scarier than a pregnant woman. Oriel didn’t see it. She plopped down on top of the pillows her ‘honey’ set out for her, putting up her feet across the length of the couch. “Yeah, yeah, and I’ll…be right here. Being a fucking potato,” she grumbled. She had nothing better to do but wait. Oriel leaned over with a grunt and grabbed the clicker, then turned it to the Cartoon Network.

Kodi was going through his own trouble alright. Or rather, her own troubles. For reasons still unknown to hi- her, Gryphon had changed back to his normal gender before the dentokinetic had. On a whim, they'd decided to test out what it was like to hook up light a straight couple would, just to see how it felt. And... God, it'd been fucking amazing. So amazing that Kodi begged to do it several times, until she started wondering why it was taking so long for her to turn back when nearly everyone else already had.

And then she'd gotten the morning sickness, and realized what had happened. Kodi had nearly passed out with the realization; it was like karma was taking the biggest shit on her that could possibly happen.

That had been about six months ago, give or take. And now, the blonde had swollen like a balloon, much the same as Oriel had, which both amused and pissed Kodi off. It would have been hilarious, had she not been experiencing this shit herself.

She was around the corner when Phoenix and Oriel came downstairs, a ice cream Drumstick in hand as she cradled her heavy stomach and watched the two with narrowed eyes. Once the skinny, scrawny pixie had left, she stepped out towards the other girl, a small smirk in place as she took a big lick from the cone.

"You look terrible," she announced, flopping down by Oriel's feet. "Aren't you supposed t'have that 'pregnancy glow', or whatever they call it?" She snickered and chomped off a piece of chocolate. "Your kid'll come out ugly if you stress too much." Yeah, like Kodi wasn't freaking out every moment of every day.

The only thing that made this whole god-awful experience even minutely tolerable was the fact that there was someone else who shared in his pain. Like exactly shared in it. Like, was going through the exact same thing for nearly the exact same reasons. Thought Oriel had to laugh and giggle over the fact that Kodi had actually found the whole gender-chinese-fire-drill interesting enough to give the whole intimate experience whirl….and that had landed him right in the same place that Oriel was right now. Pregnant and hormonal. Oh, and also still female!

Oriel sneered up at Kodi, completely unamused but not willing to back down. “Guess that means you’re giving birth to fucking alien, ‘cause no amount of happy can save your kid from getting that thing of yours you call a face.” Ugh…that was weak. Oriel should be ashamed. Fucking hormones. Fucking pregnancy. Phoenix better come back quickly with that ice cream so she could shove it up Kodi’s rear end. Oriel shifted anyway, to give the other girl/boy enough room to sit, and rested her feet on the shemale’s lap. She flipped the clicker in her hand and turned up the volume. “Any preference?” There was probably nothing better to watch anyway.
