SUE: Not Where We Belong (Rain and AJ)

The research laboratory isn't a typical student hang out, but getting there was easier than getting out will be.

Roaming around the laboratories was a bit scary for Rain. Especially since this was the first time she had been here. It was a bit creepy, and she couldn’t imagine why anyone would want to work in a place that was this creepy. These rooms were what horror stories were made out of. Being in here made her feel like someone was going to come out of the shadows and try to make her into a monster, and do alien experiments on her. Wait, someone had already kind of did that… Just with her knowing about it, and doing it with her consent.


Rain was asked to come down here so the research department ask her some questions about the side effects of her powers. Rain didn’t want to do it, but felt like she would be completely rude to say no, so she said yes. She thought if she said no that it would leave them to not be able to figure out something important about metas, or about her powers. Maybe they would be able to figure out something that could help someone else… But another part of her wondered why they bothered. It wasn’t like they could make her powers go away permanently, or even the side effects of her powers. Then again even if they could, she wouldn’t want to give up her powers. And she felt that if someone found a way to take away side effects of people’s powers would give those people too much power. Because they didn’t have anything stopping them from having their power get to their head and ego… It would be giving them too much power… And that was scary to Rain.

However, that thought certainly wasn’t as scary as the lights going out… Everything flickered on and off for a couple seconds, and then the power went out completely… Or at least the lights did. Rain let out a small whimper, now she was really scared… She fumbled in her bad, finding her phone and putting the flash light on. Now everything looked different, and she was sure she was going to get lost…

AJ recalled Oriel telling her how creepy the research labratories were and she hadn't really believed him as he'd told her stories. His response had been 'Fine, well then I dare ya to go there by yourself.' She did. Because why not? Oriel was probaby just trying to freak her out.

But when she actually got there, the research labs seemed like something straight out of a science fiction or horror movie where people were experimented on and everything seemed like a giant maze that she couldn't make her way out of. Okay, so they were slightly creepy. Oriel had a point. She was about to leave, trying to remember her way out, when the lights flickered and then everything completely plunged into darkness. "Not funny, Oriel!" she said aloud, thinking he'd somehow made it happen to mess with her.

Rain looked around we she heard someone speak, she looked around a little bit scared… Though she knew the name, he was in the drama club with her. So, who was the girl speaking? Could it be a ghost? Could Oriel talk to ghost? Was that his power? Wait, if it was a ghost how could she hear it? Yeah, she wouldn’t be able to hear a ghost… No one could hear ghosts, unless they had a power too, maybe..

She walked around a little, looking around her, even behind her with her phone. “Hello?” She said very softly, barely a whisper, “someone there?” again whispered it, she was too afraid to even speak louder. Then she saw someone and it made her jump, and she let out a little shriek. She put her hand over her mouth, looking over the girl in front of her, “are you a ghost?” she asked, (Speaking normally now)
