Breathe in to blend in (Lizzie)

Marnie's junior year was quickly drawing to a close, and that meant one thing: if she wanted to graduate on time, she had to make some progress with her power. Three years at Hammel meant plenty more control than she used to have, but there was still a lot of work to be done. Work she wasn't especially enthusiastic about.

On the bright side, apparently she would be working with another camouflage meta today. Marnie was used to practicing alone, which helped keep witnesses of her screw-ups to a minimum. But it was still nice to know she wasn't the only student with this particular power, when it seemed like everyone else was running around at super speeds turning into large mammals.

Making herself comfortable in the training room, Marnie pulled a selection of wallpaper samples from her backpack and began arranging them on the floor around her. A few were solid colors, but most featured some sort of pattern that Marnie was still trying to master. Today her goal was chevrons, and by god, she had a good feeling about today.

When Lizzie was told that she was to practice with another camouflage student today. She had different and mixed emotions concerning that small change in the schedule. First and foremost, she had an issue when it came to communicating with people. That issue being her fear towards the whole society. She had no idea, however, what type of student was that Marnie Sullivan, so the fear developed into anxiety. She did not want to go. She wanted to practice with the teachers who knew how to help her, not with some stranger.

Second thing was her urge to steal. What if she will take something of hers? Of course that usually did not bother Lizzie; she took what she wanted to take and did not think of the concequences, but now... What will happen if her urges will dominate and she won't be able to control herself.

Breathing in, the pink haired maiden walked quietly towards the training room, eyes on the floor, but ears reacting to every sound. Currently the whole school was so quiet that nothing scared her into abandoning the cause.
When she finally reached the door, Lizzie hesitated. Maybe she should leave? That was one of the greatest options, but then again she made a promise to her teacher that she would participate in this small "examination". On the other hand, though, this was a good idea to finally communicate with someone who had the same powers as she. Maybe she would learn something new.

Swallowing loudly, she finally pushed the door and stepped into the room. Her eyes wandered from the different wallpapers on the floor to the girl who kept setting them there. Closing the door behing her, she approached the other student quietly, steps echoing from the walls. Her voice sounded awkward, even a bit shaky when she finally opened her mouth:"Hello?"

Marnie glanced up at the sound of the door opening, and her face broke into a warm smile. The person walking in looked too young to be a teacher or trainer. Another student, most likely the one she was assigned to work with today. Lizzie, she was pretty sure she 'd been told. She rose to her feet as the other girl approached, eager to be introduced.

"Hi! I'm Marnie, it's nice to meet you." She held out a hand to be shaken. Assuming Lizzie's hesitation to be garden-variety shyness, Marnie wanted to be welcoming. If she recalled correctly, Lizzie was fairly new to Hammel. That seemed as reasonable an explanation for her nerves as any. "I like your hair, is it a camouflage thing or did you just dye it?" Marnie couldn't register the girl's hair color as the pink it truly was, as to her it appeared to be more of a pale blue-grey. The sentiment was real, though - it wasn't a color she often saw others wear their hair as, and the effect was quite pretty.

"I was just setting up for practice," Marnie went on, nodding towards the wallpaper samples she'd arranged. "I don't know how you like to do it, but I like to try a bunch of different patterns whenever I'm training."
