Jewels for the Lair (Rayne)

Geist had been back at Pilot Ridge long enough to find a nice little apartment, and to get a decent job. Now all he needed was stuff to fill his place with. A mattress on the floor and a TV on a box of clothes, does not a home make. So he dragged his scrawny self downtown and started searching. He had gone into a few of the higher end stores, but realized quickly there was no way he could afford anything in them; so he skipped the rest of the stores and headed straight for New2You. Walking past the lovingly smelling bakeries and restaurants was hard, but they guy had a very set plan in mind. First thing was to buy a bed for himself and maybe one for Voodoo too. Though he knew his cat would be just as happy with a cardboard box, he would still try. 

Then the list went on to include a couch or chair, some form of table, and hopefully a dishwasher. He entered the store with all this in mind, but was instantly drawn to the old clothes. It was like a tractor beam, they had pulled him in. His fingers ran across the racks slowly as he looked at each piece that caught his attention. Then he pulled himself away slowly and moved to the back with the furniture.

"Curse you trashy clothing tramps, getting me all distracted." He chuckled to himself as he circled around a rather comfy looking chair.

Outfit

Rayne enjoyed shopping for clothes. Probably more than she should. Actually no, Rayne shoved that thought out of her mind. There was no possible way to enjoy something more than you should. Except... For when it was. Anyway. No. She enjoyed the whole process of shopping for clothes. So she'd taken a few necessary steps to try and not blow her entire bank account on a single pair of jeans.

One of those steps involved shopping at the consignment shop to try and find the best deals. Usually it worked fairly well, if the multiple bags she went home with were anything to go by.

Today was one of the days that she decided to do another one of her clothing runs. Which is why Rayne currently found herself wandering the racks of clothes displayed in the store, shifting this and that to try and figure out if any were suitable to make an appearance in her wardrobe. So far she'd already located a pair of reasonably priced cute jeans and two tanks tops with graphics she didn't yet have. As she rounded the corner to go to another row she paused as she heard a voice. A familiar voice.

"Hey! Clothes aren't tramps! They are delicious!" Rayne grin as she walked to the back of the store where a familiar long haired boy was circling a chair. A rather awesome looking chair. The Russian girl grinned some before flopping down in the chair, casually tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Ooo yeah. You getting this for your bat cave, Geist? If not you should. It is like a cloud... For your butt."

The lanky guy was just running his fingers over the back of the chair, when a voice called out. It startled him and for a moment his skin was clear to the muscle. "Jesus, Rayne! You scared the crap outta me.." He sort of whispered as he calmed down enough for his skin to go back to normal. Geist loved Rayne and all her odd glory, but she had this funny way of sneaking up on him from out of no where. But, this was better than Adonis, her dog, knocking him to the floor. Which happened often. Now he shook his long hair as he looked at his friend and smiled. "Yes, I was thinking about getting that chair. And that's very good to know." He chuckled softly. "Maybe if the chair had been marketed as a cloud for your butt, it wouldn't be here though." 

With that he tried to squeeze his skinny behind in the chair beside his friend and coworker. "Move sexy, I wanna check it out too."

Rayne could't help but laugh as she watched her coworker's skin become its almost usual clear color and back again. That sort of thing seemed to happen often enough that Rayne was beginning to think that Geist was actually born clear and had learned how to make his skin like the rest of the population. This prompted the girl to both an attempt to always get Geist to become scared enough he faded and to have Geist's name in her phone to be "Ghost Shrimp". "Hey now! We don't know if maybe they did market it as a cloud for your butt. Maybe the guy who owned this little gem didn't like clouds. Or he wanted to own a gothic bench instead." She grinned at him as she offered up alternatives.

There was a pause before Rayne laughed easily as Geist tried to squeeze into the chair with her, and without too much prompting, Rayne slid up and stood. Once standing she bowed dramatically to Geist. "Your highness. Sit on your throne of cloud."

He had to laugh at his co-worker and friend. She always had something witty to say about everything. The way she said things too, just...made him smile. "Well a gothic bench would be pretty cool actually." Geist let out another chuckle as he finally managed to get settled in the chair. First he squished himself one way, then another. Wiggling around it like a crazy person.

"God this chair is comfortable Rayne!" He sighed and stood up after a moment. The chair was a thing of beauty though. "Man, now I don't know if I want it for the lair, or for the shop." He grumbled some and rubbed his chin. "Guess I could just buy it for that modge podge of a home you got with your other friends." His eyes glanced over to check her reaction. Honestly, if she really liked it, he would have bought it for her.
