For Katya, there existed two types of pajamas. The first was practical: baggy t-shirts, pilfered boxers, socks when it was cold. The second was for show: tops and bottoms with matching prints like cats or snowflakes. The second type was created for pajama parties, as far as she was concerned, and it's what she was dressed in as she knocked on the door at the top of the attic steps, a pillow under one arm and stack of DVDs in one hand.

"Cale, it's me!" she called excitedly through the door. It had been long enough since their last movie night, and there were some classics due for rewatching. As Katya waited, bare foot tapping impatiently against the floor, she began shuffling through the stack of DVDs. She knew which one she wanted to watch first, but she'd gotten to pick last time. Although maybe her roommate didn't remember that....

"Hey, I have an idea - you can pick the first movie if you make the popcorn." If he didn't take the deal, the choice was hers. If he did, she got popcorn. Win win, right?

Caelum had just popped out the shower and for once had his wings retracted. It didn't feel right to him at all, but it was movie/pajama party night with Katya. It was a lot easier to sit in a beanbag chair or on the floor when his wings weren't being squashed. Wriggling a little, from not feeling right, he tossed on a white tank top with a steampunk cat on it and a pair of pajama pants that were far to big for him. 

Now he was just setting up the movie viewing area with two beanbag chairs, when the knock came to his door. Caelum spread on his big goofy smile and headed to the door, it always felt weird walking when his wings weren't out. It threw him off balance. 

"Kit Kat!" He exclaimed as he opened the door to his dear, sweet friend. Noting that she was definitely ready for movie night, he chuckled some and stood aside to allow her entrance. "Sounds like a good idea to me. Cause I'm in the mood for a silly romance. I'm thinking maybe....Down with Love?" The man bounced on one foot a little, but more to keep his balance than just him being silly. "Then, if we haven't passed out, you can pick." 

Caelum was always ready for any kind of snack emergency and even had a microwave in his room. So the popcorn would be easy to make. "I'll get the exploded horny endosperm ready, and you get the movie in and get comfortable?" Giggling at his own childish science joke, he made his way to the microwave.

Being a student at Vermont's major university meant Katya frequently met peers who lived in dorms on its campus. She had done the same thing as a student at Hammel - it was how she'd gotten to know several of her best friends, in fact, Caelum included - and it had been a nice enough time. But this right here, being able to share space with the people she chose, this was where it's at.

"'Down with Love'?" Kat repeated, before bounding into the room on bare feet. "Sounds good to me! I can't remember the last time I saw that one." Sure, it wasn't her first choice, but she wasn't too disappointed. In her opinion, none of the films in her stack were bombs, so either way they'd be able to enjoy themselves. Besides, Ewan McGregor was one of those rare men she had no probably staring at dreamily for extended periods of time.

Katya caught Caelum's joke as she was setting her DVDs down next to the television, and she plopped backwards into a beanbag chair in a fit of giggles. Sure, she wasn't a horticulture major, but who didn't appreciate truly silly-sounding scientific terms?

"Horny endosperm sounds delicious!" she cackled, then composed herself enough to insert the DVD into the player and grab the remote. "Does it come with churned cow milk or nah?"
