Wherever There are Friends, There is a Party!

((This takes place on a Saturday.))

It had taken Stefan a bit longer to actually get this party together than he had planned. Not that he really had any good excuse, he was used to whipping parties together on short notice. But he'd been working lately during most of his sober-ish off time trying to get his motorcycle working again. It'd also been hard to find a night when people could come to a party. With vacations and everything, the summer was sometimes a hard time to get everyone together. 

Still he'd promise his friend a party. He only hoped Greg didn't feel upset that it had taken a while.

Now that the furniture was cat hair free, the liquor cabinet and fridge were well stocked, and his suit was fresh from the dry cleaners it was time to get his party started. He'd even gone the extra mile and had a catering company drop by with some finger foods and such. Classy. Even Sebastian was dressed up for the occasion.  Though Greg had been back in town for a while now, Stefan had still gotten a 'Welcome Back Greg!' banner to hang up on the wall. 

He was pouring his third drink of the evening when he heard the doorbell signaling that the first guest had arrived. Pausing in the hallway mirror to straighten his tie, he walked over to open the door.

Stefan had invited pretty much everyone he had talked to in the last week or so, whether he'd been sober enough to actually remember doing so or not. So he wasn't exactly sure just how many people were going to show up. 

"Come on in," he said, opening the door. "There's food set out in the kitchen and plenty to drink."

Greg hadn't been in any rush. This was mostly due to just having come back from a vacation himself, he was still feeling quite at ease even though he had been home for some time. So when Stefan offered to throw a welcome back party, Greg had no doubts that this would occur. When was a totally different story.

It felt odd, to go over to a friend's house and not have a small token of gratitude in tow. Still, if Greg had brought something, he would no doubt get into trouble. Something along the lines of 'This is your party', or 'I have all the alcohol I could ever need right here' would come out of Stefan's mouth. So, his dressed up self would have to do.

Greg smiled warmly as Stefan opened the door. "As is to be expected," he said, giving the other man a hug before stepping back, a hand remaining on Stefan's shoulder. "Thank you for hosting." Greg walked in and was glad he was the first to arrive. He wanted to greet everyone as much as Stefan did.

"It smells delicious in here," Greg complimented, stepping further into the house. A meow called his attention and he smirked at Sebastian. As the night wore on he was sure someone would free the poor creature of his human clothes.

Sean and Josh had known Gregory Strickland since college. Sean had known the blond man for years before he had met Josh, and the architect had been one of his closest friends for their entire adult lives. Absent something both illegal and morally indefensible, both men would go to any occasion to welcome Greg back to Pilot Ridge, particularly since they had been the reason that he had come in the first place.

Sean, in particular, was glad to see his friend back in town. He had missed the other man during his absence, and he hoped that they could spend some time alone (and time alone with Josh) once Greg was settled again.

However, tonight was a party!

Even if it was a party at Stefan’s house, which ensured that the journalist would get drunk and that the telepath might have to keep an eye on him to prevent disaster. He hoped that Mike would be present to share that burden.

Sean and Josh arrived as a pair, and with two presents. One was a wrapped box for Greg. The other was a platter of cookies that he and Josh had baked together; he preferred to bring food than to bring alcohol, given the venue and the host.

They knocked and waited to be ushered inside.
