Annoyance? Flirtation? Both? (Macie)

Adi liked lunch time. It meant a break from the tough face he put on to intimidate and motivate his students. It was a time to socialize with adults and unwind - which was particularly easy when certain coworkers ate lunch at the same time as he did. Certain coworkers, like Macie Wyatt. Adi found most women beautiful, and Miss Wyatt was no exception. And Adi liked to make sure she knew it - especially since he seemed to get under the blonde's skin. Adonis got some deal of pleasure in watching the woman squirm. 

So once again, Adonis took his lunch bad full of Lachanorizo (cabbage with rice) , Saganaki (fried cheese), and Kofta (meatballs)with Greek Yogurt- all homemade since Adi refused to eat anything less. He took a seat next to the blonde setting out his Tupperware containers full of Greek cuisine. "Hello, again, Miss Wyatt," Adonis mused. "I hope you had a lovely Christmas Holiday," Adi continued, pulling out the food he had made. "I've brought you some Melomakarona," Adi said, sliding a small bad of honey macaroons to the blonde with a charming smile gracing his face. 

Adi, of course, greatly respected the woman. (Though he respected himself more). She was pretty incredible. A trainer, an interpreter for a deaf student in the school... Adi liked a woman with drive, talent, and success. Adi took his fork, and started to dig into his lunch. "I do wish you would let me make lunch for you," Adi said, looking at the blonde's meal - which didn't compare to his. "You'll never want lunch made by any other man or woman ever again!"

It often occured to Macie that perhaps she should just take her lunch out of the fridge and make a run for it, go eat with Mojo everyday, just to escape the possibility of sitting across from Adnois at the small table, both eating and him doing most of the talking.

She was already sitting at the table, munching on carrots, her eyes glued to her tablet, looking through decorating ideas on Pinterest. Her and her friend Talia were already doing something different with her apartment. Macie liked change often and Talia liked to have fun with that kind of thing, so it was fun for them both. She wasn't sure what it was about men in particular calling her Miss Wyatt instead of Macie. It seemed to her too proper, like she was a school teacher from the south with a twang.

She looked up, trying not to be rude. She had manners of course. "I did, thank you." She'd gone back home to Illinois, braved the windy city for the holidays. She looked down again, scrolling through different curtain designs, when he slid something across the table. She looked down at the macaroons, hating how he knew she loved sweets. Gingerly, she opened the bag and took one out, savoring it as she took a bite, trying not to hint at how tasty it was. He didn't need more of an ego boost.

"I just prefer to keep it simple," she said with a shrug after finishing the macaroon. Carrots, a sandwich, yogurt or granola. It was something a mom would pack her child, but it was just important that Macie ate. She always prepared her lunch the night before and neatly packed it in her lunch box before setting it in the fridge for the morning.

Simple was not something Adi normally settled for. He thought simple was too esay, and that life way more about challenges and trying new things. He had know he liked carrots and yogurt since he was little. Why not try something new? Or a new combination? It could end up awful, sure, but you can also create something magical. Hell, that's why he almost married his ex. For the longest time they were both convinced that the fighting was just another one of life's challenges leading to something greater. It didn't work out, of course. But good did come out of it. The same went for Adi's experimental lunch today - lamb with a creamy spinach sauce and rice. He could already smell how amazing it was going to taste.

"Well I'm at least glad you can make room for my sweets in your otherwise predictable lunch box," Adi teased. It seemed that the woman always had the same, or nearly the same lunch. Packed in the same way, in the same lunch box. Sometimes the vegetables changed from carrots to celery. Or the yogurt was strawberry instead of vanilla. But if you gave Adi four guesses, he could probably guess Macie's lunch every time.

The man stirred the meal he'd heated in the microwave with his fork, allowing the sauce to distribute itself through all the rice before he ate it. "I'm glad I can at least keep you talking to me with the promise of cookies," Adi added, a small smirk appearing on his face. He knew that he got under the woman's skin. Macie was very easily flustered, and seemed to avoid Adi at all costs. Adi, of course, saw this as yet another challenge. A very fun, cute, entertaining challenge at that. He wanted Macie to like him, but he also wouldn't change himself to make that happen (Why couldn't everyone just accept him the way Idalia did?). He was pretty sure the blonde didn't hate him though. So that was a start.

Macie knew that Adonis thought she was boring. Maybe it was her lunch box, the old Hello Kitty tin box, or maybe it was the fact that he could guess what was in it. She wanted to tell him that she wasn't boring. That she changed the colors of her apartment every few months on a whim, that she ate other foods at home, that she'd drastically cut her hair and colored it before moving from Illinois. She didn't understand why she felt she had something to prove.

She shot him a look when she called her lunch box predictable. "It's simple and it's good." She really wanted to stick her tongue out at him. "And I love sweets. I do bake sometimes, you know. I'm not too shabby at it." She gingerly reached for another macaroon. His meal also smelled really good, although it looked slightly different. "I don't talk to you just because you bring me sweets." She talked to him to be polite, because she knew that she had to be social with her coworkers. "Although I am expecting something really good on my birthday."

Boring wasn't quite the word Adonis would us to describe Macie. Predictable didn't always mean boring. Sure, he believed that Macie could be more adventurous, and would love to help facilitate that with a meal. He could tell there was more to the woman than her little lunchbox, simple sandwiches, and carrot sticks. "Oh, you can be assured that I'll spoil you on your birthday," Adonis said with a wriggled of his eyebrows. "So sweet you'll get cavities looking at it," Adi said, only slightly implying he was talking about himself in addition to the cakes he was sure to provide. Adi wasn't trying to be a creep, he wasn't even really trying to make a movie on Macie (not really... ). The man just loved getting a rise out of the blonde.

"You know," Adi said, taking another bite of his lunch before continuing, "I have a proposition for you... a little bet." The man reached over and took one of his macaroons as well. "If I can guess at least half of what you've packed for lunch... 4 of 5 days next week... you'll let me make you dinner," Adi offered slyly. He had noticed her patterns. He knew she'd try and trick him, too. He still thought he could get away with it, and maybe finally get the woman to try something a little bit out of the box.

Macie had never had a cavity, mostly because she'd been diligent about brushing her teeth twice a day since she was a kid. Sometimes she even felt the need to three times a day, but she definitely liked her sweets and she trusted that Adonis would deliver. She was wondering what he would make her and got lost in her mind thinking about is for a moment before he spoke again, of a proposition.

She leaned forward on her elbows eagerly, snapping the end off of a carrot stick with her teeth. The bet part was what made her nervous. "I think I can swing that," she said after a long minute of chewing on her lip. She didn't bring the same exact thing everyday.

"Great," Adonis mused, glad that he had gotten the woman to agree. He hoped that he could, even if he lost, convince Macie to step out of her comfort zone and try some lamb, or a greek salad -something a little bit out of the box. Carrot sticks and peanut butter sandwiches were such a small portion of what the world had to offer. "I look forward to having you as a guest," Adi said confidently, as if he had already won.

He popped another macaroon in his mouth, savoring the sweet momentarily. "How have your students been treating you?" Adi asked, turning the conversation over to something that the two certainly had in common. Both of them were trainers, and no matter what your methods or views were when it came to training, you could always find some sort of common ground when discussing your experiences.
