Thread Roulette: Diners, Drive Ins and Dives

Ferris and Idalia are doing a segment on local eateries, and they've come to review Honest Abe's.

Idalia was a meteorologist, she had no idea how she got roped into this. She was itching to be back at her desk, she had a proposal due in a few days and she was hoping for the funding to get her and her colleagues at the NWS a chance to really dive into and figure out the ways that meta human powers affect the weather. It was really going to be a reanalysis of case studies. She'd gotten files from Hammel on request about meta human power flashes, specifically those that were weather related. Now of course Idalia would not know the names of the younglings but the stories will give them insight into how to better move on with how they approach the burden of being so close to a meta human school. She was just relieved that no one had created a hurricane over land so far. Either way, it was her job and when her boss requested this of her she couldn't very well say no. She was the chief meteorologist and even though she was more than grateful for the position, it did require a bit more of the public figure kind of feel.

Dressed in a more relaxed form of the suit she'd warn in front of the green screen, she waiting inside Honest Abe's waiting for the person she was supposed to be doing this thing with. It would be a quick thing in the grand scheme of things but she knew that the owner was very excited about their review. It was going on television and Idalia already knew she liked the food here, it was a deal to promote local businesses. Idalia uncrossed and crossed her legs again as she waited. The owner had given her some water but Ida had refrained from ordering anything until... she checked her phone and the email to make sure she was here at the right time. Ferris, she was waiting on Ferris. She sighed and smoothed her hands over her gray pencil skirt. She adjusted the way that her red blouse fell over her breasts and made sure that they weren't letting her girls out to much. She then contented herself by watching the KTLX radar over Oklahoma City. The midwest had been hit nonstop it seemed, nearly everyday there were significant reports of severe weather covering that area of the US recently.

She'd never seen anything like it, it was day after day and she was sure that the El Niño had something to do with it, but she hadn't studied that well enough to know for sure. She moved the radar around on her map, picking new stations to follow the storms. She was surprised when her phone buzzed. A text from her dear friend and colleague said: Hey Ida, left mover Dallas Fort Worth. "A left mover!" Ida exclaimed with excitement, must to the surprise of the people around her. She immediately went for the Dallas/Fort Worth radar and was so focused on the picture that she didn't notice when Ferris arrived at her table.
