Vicky had been called by a certain somebody after hearing some commotion downstairs and a slammed door. This call she had replied to smoothly and calming, voice dripping with teasing sympathy. Poor Rue. He had no idea. The sly girl agreed to go over his house to keep him from being alone. After all, Rue was delightful company…. mmm, definitely.

She gathered a few things and dressed a little more suitably for leaving the house, grabbing a couple things and taking her sweet time as she prepared herself for the little visitation. As she left the house, she said loudly, “I’m going, Finn. I have to entertain~” Despite any reaction or response, which she waited a couple moments for, she left and began the walk to Rue’s apartment building.

After a short while, she arrived at the blocks and let herself into the right building, climbing the stairs to Rue’s place and knocking on the door gently as she got there. She sang through the door as well, just to be friendly, “Rue~ It’s your friendly neighbourhood cat~ I want to tear up your curtains~” Teehee.

Rue was upset, but trying to act like he wasn’t. No… He couldn’t let himself be upset, because being upset always led to bad things, and there was no way he was going to let himself go down that road just because he hadn’t been invited to a sleepover. With Finn. And Jackson. And someone else, by the sound of things when he’d gone over there with food and had left empty-handed with a door slammed in his face. Okay, maybe he had reason to feel left out and alone, which was why he’d taken matters into his own hands and called Vicky to see if she was busy. He probably had sounded more pathetic than he realized, because she had actually agreed to come over.

He was sitting on the floor of his living room and doing some quiet meditations to clear his upset mind by the time he heard the door knock. Relieved, he opened his eyes and stood to go let her inside. “Hey, Xixi…” he murmured a greeting, a quiet smile on his face. “Thanks for coming over…. Sorry for the… Uh…” The sounding pathetic? “Come on in.” He stepped aside to let her inside and closed the door behind her. Sinbad and Andromeda magically appeared and began rubbing against the girl’s legs; she was one of the few people both of them absolutely adored, and Rue thought it was pretty obvious why.

“Ah… Can I get you anything?” he asked, his voice still quiet. He felt embarrassed, but thankful. “You know you’re welcome to make yourself at home.” He went and poured a glass of wine for himself, and held up the bottle towards Vicky, a silent offer to her as well. It was a wine kind of night, he felt. At least he wasn’t wearing pajamas like he usually did around the apartment.

Vicky was a minx, simply put. It helped that she actually had a degree in how to make people trust in her authority and talk about their problems (i.e. Counselling) (she had loved it but considering her career path now, it was fairly useless). She liked having that ability. Of course, in truly serious situations, she was proper with it, but y'know... life would be boring without a little spice.

It helped that she wouldn't have to worm out what the problem was from Rue. Unless there was something else going on that she didn't know about, she was fairly certain she knew what she was dealing with. So she was confident, knocking on the door of the aura reader. She sent him a cheeky smile once their eyes met. "Not at all." Rue was a friend after all. Even if he was being a crybaby about this. "Thank you very much~" She trilled again, stepping in and greeting the kitties happily once they joined her, "Hello, sweeties~" For them, she grew out her ears and whiskers and tail, looking like a bit of a hybrid. She would have gone full monty into kitty mode if Rue didn't need her.

She waved him off, "This is like my second home, I know, I know." She still sent the quiet adult a grin. When she saw the wine, she was more than tempted. She nodded, and went to sit on the couch. Assuming at least one of the cats followed her, she began scritching one behind the ears - Sinbad, if she had a choice. "So, my brother's made you all pouty. What's that about? Was the bad man mean to you?" She was teasing, you could tell from the tone of her voice, but she would be nicer further into the conversation... mmm, probably.

Rue knew that Vicky was sly and playful, a lot unlike him to be honest, but he enjoyed her and her presence nonetheless. They majored in the same thing, interestingly enough, although Rue wanted to help people with their problems and try to make himself a better person in the process. Sometimes, though… Sometimes he just needed a distraction to make him forget about his issues.

He knew that she knew what the issue was, even if he hadn’t said it outright. It was probably pretty obvious, especially since she had likely heard the exchange between Rue and her brother. “I hope I wasn’t interrupting any other plans…” he murmured as she stepped inside, eyes slightly downcast. “I just wasn’t sure who else to call.” Because Finn was busy. Obviously. This was about Finn, and Jackson. Having fun without him. Sigh…. He smiled faintly as Vicky interacted with the kitties. “They adore you so much,” he chuckled. “You should come over and play with them more often.” And play with me more often too. Despite his pouty mood, Rue still checked her out as she crouched down and changed more feline, which he found quite appealing (especially that tail… so cute).

When she nodded at his offer of wine, Rue poured her a drink too and went to sit beside her, and handed it to her when he got there. “You know they’re not even this friendly with me,” he chuckled, watching Sinbad curl up in Vicky’s lap. But then Vicky bluntly brought up what Rue was pouting about, and he frowned, swirling his glass before taking a sip. “Well… It sounds like they’re having a party without me,” he complained with his lower lip jutted out slightly. He snorted from her teasing. “He wasn’t all that sensitive,” he admitted, sipping his drink. “But… I guess that’s Finny for you.” He looked up at her and smiled a little. “But, at least I have good company now.” Rue leaned in and pecked her cheek. “How was your day?”

Vicky wanted to help other people - definitely. People like Finn... having experienced first hand what it was like to see a sibling behaving differently, to endure the things that came out of his mouth sometimes... that was a struggle in itself. She probably couldn't even start to imagine how much it played with Finn's mind. So she did want to help, but her occasional (or frequent) lack of sensitivity wasn't always useful.

"Oh, you completely ruined my evening, you fox. I had to cancel with a box of doughnuts and a pack of hard cider." She was fine. She hadn't had much planned anyway - she was just glad to own noise cancelling headphones. "And even if I did have solid plans, I probably would have preferred to come over here anyway." She said smoothly. "Some of the people I know are the weakest excuses for human beings." And yet she pretended to like them, despite talking shit behind their back. Hey, they were still fun! Just very boring as actual people. Rue was actually decent. Vicky chuckled as Rue spoke about his pets, "You just want an excuse to play with my kitty-cat, don't you?" She trilled teasingly. Her tail flicked happily as she interacted with Rue and his 'family'.

The shifter chuckled softly, "I'm part feline, what do you expect?" A human who can provide food and scritches as well as being a kitty to play with? Sounded like heaven to her cat self. The perfect little servant, in their eyes, probably. She'd let them believe that. She sipped from the glass, before abruptly interrupting, "Correction - they're having a sleepover without you." How fun. Vicky could do with a good teenage-style sleepover. She hummed in agreement, "I guess it is. But he has his reasons." She eyed Rue for a moment, considering, "Reasons I'm not sure I should share with you. To do with the people there. It's not just him and Jackson." Vicky wondered if Rue would catch her drift, but she was being very vague. She smirked, "My day was fine, from raking in some dough and it was going to involve making sure Finn didn't destroy the house, but he can manage."

Vicky pecked his cheek back, "How about you, big guy? Do anything fun?" She subtly tilted one of her kitty ears in his direction, asking for a scratch. "Got anything... planned?" Her tone wasn't very subtle in what she was suggesting.

Rue sent Vicky a look of mock sympathy. “You could have brought them with you,” he replied, pouting. “I just finished my last scone earlier today, I could use some more sugary pastries.” He patted his somewhat ample stomach, making it protrude out more than usual on purpose to make a point. Rue chuckled, then raised an eyebrow at Vicky in surprise. “Wow… I’m flattered,” he replied, not faking his tone of voice this time. “I hope you don’t talk about me like that when I’m not around.” Already she was making him slowly forget his being upset, with her curt and bold attitude. He blushed at her obvious play on words and looked away. “I didn’t say that,” he accused quietly. Even if it was the truth. “I like you for more than that.” Also the truth.

“Well, yes, but I’m their owner… They’re supposed to love me the most,” he pouted. At least Andromeda was rubbing against his leg. Rue blinked when Vicky interrupted him, and blushed a little at what she said. “Right… A sleepover,” he sighed. “Can’t remember the last time I was at one of those.” So why hadn’t Finn invited him?? It was very unlike his friend to do so. “He does?” Rue asked, looking up at Vicky hopefully. “So you know why, then? Can you tell m-“ But then she was speaking again, and the younger man drooped slightly. “Oh.” So who else could be there? Someone that Rue wasn’t supposed to see…? He was very confused, unless it turned out to be a surprise somehow. He doubted it. He also didn’t realize that the two boys were friends with Phoenix, otherwise he might be able to guess more quickly. “Heh… I’m sure he’ll be fine,” he managed to get out, still wracking his brains to figure out why he couldn’t be let in.

“Me? Oh, not really… Just did some meditating, had an appointment to go to, did a little volunteering at the soup kitchen.” Rue wasn’t exactly the most exciting of people, but most of his friends knew that by now. “Hmm?” He smiled a little slyly. “Anything besides you, of course?” He took another sip of wine, finishing his glass before he set it down. Rue reached over and scratched behind Vicky’s ear. “Otherwise, not much, so I’m hoping you’ll stay a while.” He caught her cheek in his hand, tilting her face up to look at his. “… You’re gorgeous,” he informed her non-challantly. Without another word, he pressed their lips together.

“You should have said, pabo~” Vicky teased. She would have liked to have those donuts… ah, she should have brought them along anyway. Even if Rue had rejected them, she would have had them all to herself! Ah, darn it, never mind. If she really wanted, she could always run back and grab them (so long as Finn hadn’t stolen them). She made a face at his concern, “Me? No, I usually tell the truth, unless I’m talking to fake bitches. What I say to you is what I would say to most people.” The cat woman shrugged. And now she was chuckling smoothly, “You don’t need to say it explicitly for me to know you want this to become explicit, but hey, thank you for seeing me than more than a sex toy!” She was still just joking about. To show her gratitude, she gave the younger man a little peck and a nuzzle. He was a sweetie. A horny sweetie, but a sweetie all the same.

Ahh, Rue was adorably protective over the love of his kitties, how sweet. “Well… I’m a cat. They probably love you most, human wise.” She nodded as the conversation continued, taking occasional sips of wine, “We have sleepovers all the time,” She purred casually. Sexy sleepovers. But he could understand Rue’s angst towards the situation… kind of. He was being a wimp about it. Sensitive, poor little fellah. She could see he was still distracted, and pulled a face about it, “I tell you and you’ll get more upset. It’s a tough love situation, buddy. You should just be glad he remembered and took your feelings into consideration so much.” He forgot to do that with Vicky quite a bit. She would be jealous if she didn’t ship the pair so much.

Vicky made a teasing sound of approval, “Oooh, Mr. Good Guy here. All charitable and shit. I’d never manage.” Too harsh. She’d get kicked out of soup kitchens, they would probably only like her to be there to make mind blowing soup, before kicking her out before she could offend anyone. She grinned and sighed happily as he began scratching, putting her glass down too as she relaxed. Mmmmnnnn…. “Of course~” She chimed softly, very content, “I’ll stay as long as I want.” Which meant she would probably be staying until the next morning, or until Finn called to tell her the house was on fire. The shifter looked up at her… friend as he moved her, and smirked, “I know right?” She said, chuckling a little, before closing in on the kiss happily, pawing a hand gently at his chest and grasping his shirt as they kissed. After a while, she pulled away, smiling again, “I was wondering how long you could keep it in your pants.” She teased, wrapping her arms around his neck and looking into his eyes, “Sex is just the best distraction, hm?” No, she wasn’t subtle about her intentions. She leant and nipped on his lobe a bit, ears twitching and slowly receding with the rest of her cattiness. In the past, she had teased Rue by turning into a kitty around now, but she didn’t want to this time.

Some people might think Vicky was pretty full of herself (and okay, admittedly, she sort of was), but Rue didn’t mind it. It was amusing, and he enjoyed her company anyway. Hell, he was used to adjusting to Finn’s changing whims unpredictably, so he could handle just about anything. “Well, that’s good,” he replied with a small smile. He became flustered at the next bit, though. “… Caught red-handed, I guess….” he mumbled with embarrassment, rubbing the back of his neck. “You know you’re always welcome to say no and we could just watch a movie or something…” Not that that’s what he wanted, but Rue also didn’t want her to think that’s entirely why he enjoyed her company. It was just a bonus! He smiled again at the nuzzle, eyes full of adoration and affection.

“I guess that makes sense…” he admitted grudgingly to her logic. Sinbad and Andromeda were the only ‘family’ he had in the area, so he cherished their attention. Rue blushed at her mention of ‘sleepovers’. “That’s not what I meant…” he mumbled. “Even if they are really… Fun.” Definitely enjoyable. He supposed one of their sleepovers could replace whatever sleepover Finn was having over at their house; that was why he’d invited Vicky over, after all. “Can you at least tell me who it is?” he asked with minor desperation. “It’s going to drive me crazy if I don’t know…” At least that way he might understand why Finn refused to let him in.

He rolled his eyes slightly at her teasing. “It’s just something for me to do…” he mumbled modestly. And gave him an excuse not to get a real job yet. Besides, Rue enjoyed volunteering, he didn’t do it because he felt like he had to. He smiled at her responses to his scritching, scooting a little closer as he did. “Alright,” he murmured. “Cutie…” Rue hummed contentedly into the kiss, incredibly glad that the older woman had agreed to coming over. “What would I do without you?” he murmured as they parted, gazing solemnly into her eyes despite her continued teasing. “You always know what to do….” His large hands caressed her waist and gently pulled her onto his lap, grunting softly at the nip. Rue was relieved to see that she didn’t show any signs of completely cat-ifying at the moment. He was starting to feel incredibly warm, and took a moment to tug off his sweater and set it beside him on the couch, cheeks flushed pink. “It’s really warm in here,” he offered as an explanation before pulling Vicky into another kiss. His hands began wandering.
