TRIGGER WARNING: DEPRESSION, BULLYING, AND SELF HARM
The BasicsName: Eliza Grace Stevens
Nicknames: Liza
Age: 27
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Drama Teacher
Powers: Sonic Voice
Eliza basically has a sound system for a voice box. She can enhance the volume of her voice to that of concert speakers and she can change the pitch of her voice from low to high. She is not limited to just raising the volume of her speaking but can produce sounds (such as piercing sirens to rumbling booms). She has overall mastered control over her own voice, except if she is startled. Liza is the last person you want going through a haunted house; everyone around her would come out deaf.
Liza's eardrums are also exceptionally strong. This doesn't give her enhanced hearing abilities or anything, just protects her from her own power and going deaf.
While Liza has basically mastered her voice at this point in her life, talking still takes extra concentration. That is why she doesn't tend to talk more than necessary due to the extra focus it takes to keep her volume in check. If she uses high volumes for too long it can make it harder to get back to a regular volume, as her ears get use to the high volume and have a hard time telling the difference. Also using too high of tones and/or volumes often leaves her horse for a few days as she can "blow out" her voice box this way.

Any Tattoos? lots and lots

General Appearance: Eliza is an extremely stunning individual. If there was one thing the gods blessed her with, it was a face that anyone could fall for. She has strong gray eyes with a green tint that seem to be piercing into one's soul. Her features are sharp yet extremely beautiful. However, she isn't just beautiful in the conventional girly sense; she has a boyish look to her as well, enhanced by her edgy short haircut. She is basically the perfect mix of feminine and masculine. She has plenty of tattoos and a few piercings on her left ear. She is of a decent height for a girl, standing at about 5' 9" and her frame is thin but fit. She works out regularly and what she lacks in fat, she makes up for in muscle.
Her style isn't much. She doesn't go for the typical female wardrobe. She wouldn't be caught dead in a dress but she also enjoys to feel pretty. Eliza likes pants (nothing above her knees), tank tops, t-shirts, jackets, hoodies, hats, lots of bracelets, combat boots (never heels), and will always have at least two rings on.
Personality: Liza is a sweet and gentle person. While she does not align herself with a religion, she has strong Buddhist tendencies. She won't stand for violence and has no patience for anyone who doesn't believe in peace. She has a huge heart for people, animals, plants, and even things most people wouldn't consider to be 'alive'. She is friendly and outgoing, though this was not always the case. She wants to leave a positive impact wherever she goes and has a hard time accepting when someone doesn't like her. She constantly moves towards self improvement, sometimes to an obsessive level. She is a natural born leader and can come off as a bit of a know it all, though she knows she really doesn't know anything at all. She has a great sense of humor and believes that laughter is the best medicine.
Liza is easily frustrated and is quick to blame herself for any problem that may arise in her life. She doesn't like other people to know when she is struggling and is great at putting on a happy face, even in the worst of times. She is extremely loyal and trustworthy and will support the people she cares about no matter what. While it is very difficult to end up on her bad side, one sure fire way is to mess with her friends.
She also considers herself to be gender fluid. She accepts her female sex however she doesn't see herself as a "girl" but as a human. It greatly upsets her when people assume things about her because she has boobs and therefore she must think and act a certain way. She can't stand being considered cute and purposefully will act more masculine than necessary sometimes just to make a point.
Romance wise, she takes on the more traditional male role of being the pursuer. She likes feeling like a hero and wants to be the one to come in and sweep her princess off her feet.Your VicesLikes:

Secret: She has scars on her left arm and upper thighs from self harm. She kept them hidden from nearly everyone, got tattoos to cover what she could, and always wears bracelets to hide what's left.Family TiesFather: Anthony Greg Stevens
Mother: Stacey Grace Stevens
Siblings: Sydnee Elizabeth Stevens
Any Other Important People: NoneHistoryEliza was the first born child to Anthony and Stacey Stevens. The family lived in a small town about an hour from Sydnee, Australia. Her parents were devout Catholics and Liza was raised in an extremely religious environment and she even went to Catholic schools. She was a generally happy child but as she approached her tweens, she started to realize that she didn't quite fit in. While most of her female friends were starting to wear more and more "pretty" things, Liza just wanted to keep wearing jeans and t-shirts. When all the girls started giggling about cute boys, Liza found that she couldn't find the same "giggles" in herself. She thought something must be wrong with her and just tried her best to go along.
By her last year of primary school, she felt like she was just going through the motions. She did her best to fit in with all the other girls and do as her parents said; she just wanted to make everyone happy. However, when she started secondary school at the age of 13, things changed. It was after the first dance of the year and she had gone with a very nice boy, Brian, from her history class. The night had been fine and towards the end of the dance, the two were standing against the wall talking. Suddenly, Brian kissed her. At first Liza was so surprised she didn't know what to think. Her friends all saw and the next day it was all they would talk about. Everyone wanted to know how it was (as Liza was one of the first out the group to kiss a boy) but she couldn't figure out what to say. A few days later, she was watching TV with her parents when a talk show came on featuring two women who were married. Her parents quickly changed the channel, commenting on how horrendous it was that people like that were being shown on TV. However, the few seconds she saw stirred something in Liza. Her curiosity grew and that night she got on her parents computer when they were asleep. After about an hour of searching and reading, Liza was in tears. No one had ever told her that not everyone who was born as a girl, felt like a girl. She had never known that it was even possible for a girl to not be attracted to boys. She still didn't know exactly what all this meant for her, but she knew that she finally understood why she never fit in, why she didn't want to wear dresses, why she didn't get the "giggles" about boys, and why kissing Brian hadn't felt like anything. That was the first night that Liza finally felt like she could honestly become happy, however it was also the last night she would feel happy for a long, long time.
The next day she went to school with a skip in her step. She went straight to her best friend Mary. She had to tell someone the wonderful news! However, Mary wasn't nearly as excited as Liza had hoped she would be. In fact, her reaction was the opposite of what the young girl had been looking for. Her friend yelled at her, called her horrible names, and told her to never speak to her again. The rest of the day was a blur. When she got home she went straight to her room and cried. When she came down for dinner, her parents seemed extremely upset. She asked them what was wrong; they told her that Mary's parents had called. The night became a wash of crying, yelling, begging, praying, and blaming.
Liza didn't attend school for a week, and when she returned, school became hell. Every day she dreaded the bus, the locker room, the classrooms, the hallways, the bathrooms; no where was safe. She never would have thought that discovering who she was would lead to so much hatred. During year eight, Liza began to self harm. It started with hitting herself and then progressed to cutting. She kept it well hidden and everyone was to concerned with her "sexual wellbeing" to be bothered by her emotional health. It didn't seem that things could get any worse, but life had yet another curve ball for the poor girl.
It was the last day of year eight, when Eliza was 13, that her abilities emerged. She was headed towards her bus at the end of the day, just ready to get home and away from everything for a summer however, a few of her favorite bullies had planned one last surprise. Someone had found out that Liza was deathly afraid of clowns. Three of them had gone out and found clown masks and were hiding behind one of the buses Liza had to pass to get to her bus. As she was about to round the corner they all jumped out, giggling and name calling. Liza screamed and fell back. To her, the scream didn't sound like anything out of the ordinary, however the three girls in front of her stopped their laughing and name calling, covered their ears and started doubling over in pain. Next thing Liza knew the windows in the busses around her had shattered into a million pieces and everyone was crying out and covering their ears.
Liza's parents were sent to pick her up. Every time the girl tried to talk she found the words came out so much louder than she wanted, or in completely the wrong tone; it was like she was a broken stereo. Her parents thought their daughter was possessed although, they didn't react to this nearly as harshly as they had to her sexuality and gender identity. About three days later, a man showed up at their door to inform them that Eliza was special and there was a school in America designed especially for children like her. It took about an hour of talking to get her parents on board but two days later, Liza was packed up and headed to Hammel.
The next four years at Hammel were fairly quite, literally; Liza barely spoke to anyone. She kept to herself and did her best to stay under the radar. Depression and self harm were continuous problems for her, but by the time she was graduating from high school, cutting incidents had grown to be few and far between. She learned how to control her voice and only had to stick around Pilot Ridge for an extra six months to finish power training.
When she finally had her voice under control, Eliza decided she wanted to give theatre a try. She was perfect at projecting and since she had had such practice with pretending to be someone, acting came like second nature. She did a few local shows and a year later auditioned for the acting program at Elon University in North Carolina. She was accepted and at the age of 19 left Pilot Ridge to start college.
College went by wonderfully. She had friends who supported who she truly was and during this time she fully came to understand who she was as a person; her personality, her gender, and her sexuality. She also got counseling during this time and was able to over come her depression and self harm; she hasn't cut since her freshman year. They were the best four years of her life.
After graduation, Liza left for New York City. She dreamed of making it big on Broadway but after two years of struggling in the big apple, she realized that city life was not for her. After a lot of thought, Eliza decided she wanted to be a teacher. She moved back to Pilot Ridge and enrolled at the University of Vermont to get her teachers license.
She finished her training in just under two years, while working two part time jobs on the side. Eliza is now ready to start the next chapter of her life at the Hammel Institute as a drama teacher.Roleplay ExampleSee Lilly Love? What About You?Name: Brenna
