Xavier/Jaxon age 14
They have been at Hammel for nearly three years at that point, and Xavier, as well as Jaxon, had set up their own group of friends. People were relatively kind about their power in the beginning, but mainly that was because nobody in class explicitly stated what they could do. They had arrived at Hammel around 11 years old, which was like the lowest grade they taught. Everybody still felt like a freak; they didn't feel special, only unusual and afraid.
But as the years passed by more people had gotten used to their powers being part of them. People knew who was the telepath, the hydrokinetic, the terrakinetic, even the caterpillar shifters were alright with everything. For Xavier and Jaxon, however, they were still incredibly isolated from the world in which they lived in. There were two of them in one body, so nobody knew who was in control until they opened their mouth. Jaxon was developing his own sense of style while Xavier already had his practically set in stone, and so it was becoming somewhat of a hassle.
Then there were idiots who liked to make jokes. When you had an incredibly rare power, people opted to poke fun, especially when they could make mental illness jokes. Multiple Personalities was always thrown their way; they were called crazy by some people, especially those who were much older and had a 'reputation' to uphold. They were easy targets, and while Xavier crumbled under that weight, Jaxon was far from accepting of the taunting.
Which is why they found themselves sitting in Dr. Neville's office that Wednesday morning.
Xavier and Jaxon had been walking around campus after school had gotten out the day before, and up came a terrakinetic and all of his annoying friends and decided it was good for his morale to make fun of the fourteen-year-olds as they were trying to get to a vending machine. Clearly, during that time that it was going on, Xavier started to shut down. The thing about him was that he wanted to be accepted, to be the cool guy. It's gotten them into some arguments at night, and Xavier had blatantly wished that Jaxon had never existed because of it. "It's your fault," Xav would say, and then the next day he would apologize.
However, Jaxon started off to be a happy go lucky kind of kid - always smiling and laughing until he realized how cruel the world was. So when Xavier shut down, Jaxon had always gotten defensive. The terrakinetic pushed him once, but Jaxon was the one caught throwing punches.
So there they sat, Xavier in the background saying how crappy it was that they were sitting in Neville's office while Jaxon had their arms crossed over their chest, staring down at his shoes.
"It's not my fault," Jaxon started, for no reason in particular.
