The Basics
Name: Cade Harris Maddox
Nicknames: None
Age: 19 (February 29th, 1996)
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Hammel Student (Junior-Grade Level; Power Training Level Medium-High)
Powers: Physical Imaginative Character Apparition Generation - Cade can create life-like (but intangible) representations of characters that he has seen in TV shows or movies (real-life acted characters will look real; and cartoons will take on semi-real/realistic appearances; Cade's creative portion of his mind imagining how they'd look in real-life). He cannot generate characters from books because he needs sight appearance. The less clearly he knows their appearance, the more difficult to create them. They can talk and communicate and be seen by others, but all talking and thinking they do is from Cade's own subconscious imagination. If Cade doesn't hear what is said to a character, the character doesn't hear it. Their personalities are what his subconscious thinks they are, not necessarily what they actually are. He also doesn't have direct control over their actions, again that is decided by his subconscious. Cade only controls the equivalent of an on-off switch for them.
He can generate up to 5 characters at once, but only with a lot of concentration and an unstressful situation. Because his mind must keep ambient track of his characters, if he loses eye contact with one, it'll disappear. The characters can go up to about 10 feet away when all 5 are out; and it increases by about 1-2 feet per each one less. If he were to get stressed or lose concentration, one or more would blink out almost immediately. When generating more than 2 characters, stress usually causes them to blink out or disrupt in weird ways. He can have one character with little concentration, able to have conversations and lose eye contact with it without it falling apart; and two characters he can almost do the same; but losing eye contact will still blink it out. Once he reaches 4 characters; he can no longer participate with them, instead essentially acting out a scene. (Blinking or closing his eyes briefly won't cause a loss of eye contact; it is mostly caused if they are out of his perceptive view for more than a few seconds)
With enough practice and training his uppermost limit for concentrated characters will be 6; he'd be able to have 2 stay together even if he loses eye contact; and he could sometimes communicate with 4 characters if given a perfectly calm scenario (but for the most part he still would become a spectator at 4).
In a scenario where he doesn't have any and he get stressed, a character will almost always come out to "defend or help" him, otherwise, he has trained enough with the power at this point to control the on-off switch fairly well. Most of his training left is mental management of more of them.
The side effects can be strong. Prolonged or intense use can cause headaches (and migraines). As he creates people, and can create one so naturally, he sometimes loses contact with reality (a very mild psychosis) and thinks he is speaking to a real person and not one of his characters (or vice versa). The longer characters are active, the more his energy is drained, as well.

Any Piercings? None
Any Tattoos? None
Any Scars? Nothing of note.
General Appearance: At 6' 0" / 185 lbs., Cade is a clearly a tall, strong young man. Very muscular from countless workouts, while not a body-builder (or linebacker), Cade's body is clearly the one of a man who constantly strives to get the best his body has to offer.
Strong jaw, but soft eyes, Cade is still a tad baby-faced, though if he goes unshaven for a bit, he clearly denotes the fact that he'll no longer be a teenager in only 6 months. Most of the time he likes to stay clean shaven. The strength of his personality and determination of his actions clearly show in his facial expressions, sometimes making him look angry when he isn't.
Cade is far from rebellious when it comes to clothes, all though due to his powers, he prefers being minimal. During summer months, T-shirt, shorts, and sandals are common, with only the necessary amount more when it gets any colder. The only other items in his wardrobe are clothes and shoes for dancing/performing.
Personality: Cade often feels he was robbed of his childhood. It's not true but that's how he feels. Friends are hard for him to handle, as are social situations. He responds to interacting with people by choosing a character from his mental catalog and becoming them. If someone tries to get to know the real him, they would find someone who is kind, but misunderstood. Someone who wants only to be the hero of their own story, but is in the story alone. Someone who is truly gifted and knows what they want to do with their life...yet fearful of showing it to anyone. Someone respectful and protective, but trapped behind a wall of sarcasm and cynicism. Someone who is deeply romantic and falls far into love and affection, but can never communicate his feelings.
But then his crazy power comes in. He can create any character he knows well enough, and does so frequently. They have full sound and action, but are intangible (however the characters can be tangible to each other). He opts to be friends with his characters over real people because deep down, he can control these characters (not consciously; but he knows they wouldn't hurt him).
Cade is insecurity incarnate. To him, society is a cipher, and he doesn't have the code. Learning from books at the school is meaningless, he only does any work in (or out of) class to keep from getting in trouble. Otherwise, he would rather spend his time learning better dancing, singing or acting. His favorite Broadway musical is Phantom Of The Opera, and he finds that he identifies with the titular Phantom (perhaps a bit too much). He'd rather spend hours on the stage (or watching others from a distance) than out among (or mingling with) other students. Cade suffers from mild OCD, and always keeps his environments clean. His bedroom is cleaned daily, everything has order and a place of its own. His clothing is organized and sorted at all times.
Friends are rare for him. Cade can be entertaining to the right kinds of people; or a target to just about anyone else for fear, hatred, jealousy (rarely), and other reasons. Getting talking to people isn't hard for him, but making connections is. With his self-isolating nature, he barely knows anyone at the school by name (and not many more know him, beyond a reputation for being weird). He has never really opened up to anyone, expressed his dreams or desires. His characters are his only true friends right now, and even then, he truly is only friends with himself at that point.
A deep desire exists within him to find his Christine (Phantom Of The Opera female protagonist), a woman whom he could love and care about, and who could love him back. His fear of failure or rejection leads him to avoiding any chance at it, rather choosing to admire girls he finds to be attractive from a distance. He borders on being a stalker, but never crosses the line. Though he could use his powers to create a girl, she isn't real and doesn't have real qualities, and he finds himself unable to do so for a romantic purpose.
Cade abhors violence, believing in only defense. He would never strike or counter-strike another. He would defend himself from injury and that is all. He doesn't think himself a coward, because he often isn't afraid of the physical danger. He just doesn't want to participate in aggression. However, he can and does create characters of action heroes, sometimes creating fight scenes. But to him, that is acting, not real violence.
Your Vices
Likes:
The Piano - Classical or modern, doesn't really matter
Dancing - Getting lost in the motions helps make the world a blur
Singing - The true connection to the soul
Acting - Being someone else is more fun than being yourself
Broadway - Singing, Dancing, and Acting all rolled into one
The Phantom Of The Opera - The truest perfection of Broadway (in Cade's opinion)
TV/Movies - The best escape from the real world; and a source of learning acting
Psychology - Character defects aside, it helps to understand others and makes the acting better
Dislikes:
Music (Certain Genres) - No country, no rap, no pop, no oldies. Just power metal, rock, Broadway and symphony. (There are always exceptions)
Loud People - There is no need for you to shout
Uncultured People - If you can't at least appreciate the existence of this...
Dirty/Messy Environments - It bothers his OCD...
School - What is it worth anyway
Violence - Never the answer. Defense...sure, but no counter-strikes
Strengths:
Singing/Acting - Having a good voice helps with both the singing and acting
Dancing/Physical Fitness - Between dancing and general exercising and weight-lifting; Cade is in great physical shape
Character Analysis - Both of people he interacts with in life and those in media
Piano - 13 years of practice; not a prodigy but practiced
Cleanliness/OCD - Everything should be structured
Patience - Can wait as long as needed
Entertainment - When he tries, can be what people need him to be (or at least what he thinks they need) and can bring a smile
Weaknesses:
Book Learning - Home wasn't exactly the best environment...
Social Interactions - If it wasn't already obvious...
Being Direct - Let me put it another way...
Computers - How does one print?
Fears:
Returning Home - Cade will do whatever it takes to stay away from home. He'll skip college and get a job or something in Pilot Ridge before he'd go back.
Not Being Good Enough - Cade would rather never show anyone a routine then potentially fail at it. This applies to everything he does.
Forever Alone - If Cade doesn't find his Christine some day, he'd be a very depressed man.
Secret:
He ran away from home for a day, and his mother hadn't even noticed. He never did it again, but he never forgot the lack of concern.

History
The result of a one-night stand between a rising college football star and a small-town high school girl, Cade Maddox was born on the day that doesn't exist 3 out of every 4 years. February 29th, 1996. A 19-year old mother, Tara Maddox never knew which of her many "sleeping partners" in 1995 was the father of Cade, and didn't want to do a paternity test. He was alive and there, and that's all that mattered to her. With her bad reputation in a rather religious town in Pennsylvania (teen pregnancy; no marriage, no known father; disowned by parents when they learned), Tara opted to isolate herself and her child. She worked at fast food (and later a decent restaurant whose owner didn't judge her) to support them.
Not wanting to expose Cade to the prejudice of the town, she kept him out of school until the mandatory age of 8. Tara couldn't stand the thought of him (and her) being out there, so she immediately filed the necessary paperwork to home-school him. For the next five years, Cade learned at home. Tara shuffled between work and teaching, and while Cade completed all of the Pennsylvania requirements, his mom wasn't that good of a teacher and he wasn't learning well.
Most of the time, he watched a lot of TV or listened to music that his mom had (some of which was actually hers; some of which was her parents when they took it). A kind neighbor, Mr. Keenan, would also let Cade listen to his Broadway CDs when he noticed the boy was so interested in them.
The only interaction with the world outside of brief ones with the neighbors, he had with a piano instructor that his mom let him have after months of begging. It was the only thing he learned quickly. He didn't have toys, so he spent a lot of time pretending to be people on TV.
And then he turned 13. That May, his powers activated for the first time, and the Phantom (of the Opera) came into his room and sang "Music Of The Night" with him. His mother, frightened by the man in the house called the police and though Cade didn't understand it at the time, the Phantom was inside him. The Phantom was gone by the time the police arrived, now replaced by two cops from Law and Order that confused the heck out of the police. When they disappeared after threatened by the police, Cade was identified by Hammel official within only a couple of days and was at the school within a week.
When he was little, he thought that life was like on TV. He thought it was perfect, that it would all work out. The culture shock of coming to the school after 13 years of near isolation with only his mother, a music player, and a TV, Cade was lost, and that's what anyone who met him then would likely have said.
Deep down, however, Cade wanted to be loved, to be a hero, but didn't know how to do that. So after the initial week of terror of being alone at a new school, he over night became a new person and had a new character with him to face the day. Every day, every week, every month, every year for the next 3 years, he was someone new as an actor. Of course, his anti-social behavior (more nurture than nature) prevented many people from seeing the characters he portrayed or the ones with him, but it did give him a reputation as a secretive, anti-social, bizarre freak of nature with a weird power. He also got in a lot of trouble, mostly breaking curfews, being insolent to teachers, and things that resulted from his poor social learning (some his fault; some not) or from having the characters (turns out an action hero fight in a classroom, while entertaining, put the school on lockdown from gunshot sounds).
After those 3 years, he had learned and matured. He stopped trying to be someone new everyday, and he stopped getting in trouble. From then on out, Cade had determined the things he knew in life: He wanted to be a singer, dancer, actor, some day it would come true, and he never wanted to see the mother that kept him from life ever again. He went on to do what he needed to achieve those goals and nothing more.
He's now 19 and at the beginning of his junior year of high school education. He doesn't have a plan, but that won't stop him from dancing with his characters (both inside and out).
