The BasicsName: Grayson Baxter Garnett
Nicknames: Gray and Gracie, though only his family calls him by the latter.
Age: 19 (turning 20 February 29th)
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Convenience Store Clerk
Powers: Lie Detection, rather than a standard bzzt they’re lying kind of ability Gray’s ability is a little more complex and limited. For Gray, the truth will pop into his head much like a subtitle on a movie, but it only works on exactly what the person has said.
For example, if someone is planning to go home but they also planned to sneak out later and go back out, but they only told Gray that they were going to go home it would not work. However if they say that they are going to go home and go to bed. It will work.
Another limitation to this is that the person has to know that what they are saying is untrue at the time they are saying it. So if they have false information but think it is correct, it will not work. Or if what they are planning to do changes after they have already said it, it will not work.
His ability is limited to only what he can /clearly/ hear and concentrate on so it doesn’t work if it’s muffled or he is unfocused. It also doesn’t work when the voice is being heard over a telephone or a radio, he must hear it in person.
Due to his ability Gray suffers from chronic migraines and ear aches. His hearing can also become muffled after using his ability for more than five consecutive minutes, but only experiences a slight nausea otherwise.
Play By: Kim TaehyungThe DetailsHair Color: Naturally dark brown but he keeps it dyed light brown. On occasion he does experiment with some fashion colors (ie. Orange, purple, blue etc) but it is very rare and he is bad at keeping up with them and he often lets them fade out quickly.
Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? He has a few and he’s done almost all of them himself. He’s three piercings in his lobe on his left ear and on his right he has one in the lobe and one at the top of his ear in the cartilage. He also has his left nipple pierced, he had both but one of the bars fell out and he’s been too lazy to redo it.
Any Tattoos? None, surprisingly.
Any Scars? A few here and there from fights but the only really noteworthy one is on the upper part of his right arm from where he fell out of his treehouse and broke his arm.
General Appearance:
Grayson is 5’11” with probably another inch worth of growth left in him. He inherited most of his features from his mom, such as her oval face and soft jawline. But the broadness at the bridge of his nose and the way his ears pulled a little away from the side of his head was something he owed entirely to his father.
He walks lazily with a slight slump to his shoulder, but he keeps his chin high and a bored look in his eyes. It’s obvious without him even opening his mouth that he’s one rude, cocky jerk. He's known for his rather odd expressions and sometimes makes them without even realizing it.
Grayson doesn’t own many clothes the majority of his wardrobe is shirts that vary between graphic tees and button ups with bold prints. He’s pretty lazy with the assemblage of his outfits and cycles through the same dark jeans, knee shorts, and flat bill hats.
Personality:
There was nothing nice about Gray, at least that’s what he wants you to think. And he does a pretty good job of convincing everyone else around him of that too. He’s never known how to express his emotions the right way if he gets sad it makes him angry if he’s feeling jealous, or left out, or pathetic he lashes out with clever insults and a sharp tongue. He’s not afraid to dig deep, if he’s aiming to hurt he most certainly will.
During everyday life, and when he's in a stable mood he can be pleasant to be around and can even manage to be rather charming.
Gray is certainly not a personality made for everyone but he sure as hell won’t let you forget he exists. He loves to be the center of attention, the life of the party, the go to guy. He likes going places where they know him and his name and want to be around him, he likes feeling important and he’s pretty good at finding ways to get people to follow along with him.
He’s snarky and rude but he’s always got a retort ready, he likes it when people engage him in his little insult wars and he likes it even more if they beat him, it’s probably the best way to make a friend of him (which is much better than an enemy). He loves to gather information, and he just sits on it mostly pleased enough that he’s the man with everything you need to know. But he has stooped to let slip some things that were probably better left unsaid.
At home Gray was a different matter, he didn’t listen to his mother about everything she told him but he never argued with her and he is devoted brother though he often teases Dottie about not being fun or cute anymore now that she is a ‘whiny preteen’.
He loves kids and sometimes lets himself dream that he could work with children but he feels that he’s burned that bridge pretty solidly.
Grayson’s a bit of a secret nerd he knows a lot of facts about baseball but his true skills come out when it comes to Pokemon and even certain Marvel titles. He doesn’t really like people knowing that side of him though. Just like he refuses to let down his guard for anyone around him, he’d rather keep everyone convinced he’s an open book from cover to cover.Your VicesLikes:

Any Other Important People: Not close with any other family members.HistoryGrayson was born in Kentucky of 1996 on February 29th, a leap day baby. His parents were every bit as loving and doting with him as they were with their oldest son, Jason. They moved around a lot due to his dad’s position in the Air Force, but they stayed the longest in Michigan where they had moved to in 2000.
As soon as he entered school Grayson proved to be a handful, he didn’t like being away from home or from his family and cried through the first week of every school year. His parents didn’t have to worry about him being bullied for crying because he was the one picking most of the fights. They got calls at least once a week and Gray was even removed from one of his schools in the first grade for pushing a child off the top of the slide. Thankfully she only received bruises, scrapes, and a few hurt feelings.
His attitude didn’t improve as he got older, especially with his father’s death in February of 2003. He had been close with both his parents, despite his disobedient behaviors he did show more respect for them than he did anyone else and did what they asked for the most part. But, he and his dad had been extraordinarily close, Peter felt that he and his son were very similar. Because he too, as a child and even well into his teenage years had problems dealing with his emotions, and expressed them as anger. Julie often chuckled everytime he told the story of how he’d met a beautiful young nursing student and fallen so in love that all the bad parts of him seemed to disappear. It always got a grossed out groan from the younger audience, but they didn’t mind much, as they were still so very much in love.
They had received the news of his father's death a few days before his seventh birthday, he didn’t understand much about what it meant for his father to be overseas fighting but he did know it was never good when two uniformed officers showed up on your doorstep. For several days afterward the neighbors brought them gifts, an elderly woman hugged him and his brother and then his mother.
Not much of it really sank in until after the funeral, when his sister, only two and so very confused, begged answers about why daddy had to go from their mother. Jason broke first, fist hitting the dinner table that they all sat at before he fled to his room and then his sister began to cry. He watched his mother try not to crumble as she tended to the youngest of her children and silently he slipped out of the kitchen and into the treehouse his father had finished building for them just before his deployment.
He didn’t sleep that night, but he didn’t cry either.
Things got progressively worse after that, his mother didn't share the same kinship with him, she didn't understand like his father had. She loved him and he knew that, but she could never quite see things his way like his father had been able to. He got into more and more fights at school, almost always his fault and at as young as thirteen he fell into some of the older, ‘wrong’ crowd at the school, and at that point he was out of the closet and far from innocent. He developed a love of gossip and confrontation, he knew everything about everyone and he loved it, even used it to his advantage when he needed to.
He was about midway into his Freshman year when he was sitting in class, and a faint buzz sounded in his ears, he wiggled his finger in his ear quickly which had seemed to stop the sound. “What were you saying?” he turned back to his friend who had been chatting to him about the party he had gone to last night. “I met this chick,” blurry shapes like words seemed to pop into his head, he pressed the palms to his eyes as a wave of pain shot through his head. “Gray?” his friend asked in concern before he hit the floor.
He’d woken up in the hospital and if the blood tests hadn’t confirmed it him swearing that words kept popping into his head certainly did. It took only four days for the recruiters to arrive.
Grayson didn’t like Hammel at first, it was hard for him to build up his reputation again and to get in on the party scene, but he managed to figure it out eventually and was back to his wild ways before two months passed. He didn’t do much at school as far as clubs went and only barely managed to pass most of his classes. The only reason he actually made in effort during training was because he wanted to graduate and get on with his life.
He stuck around Pilot Ridge after school, especially with his brother going to school at the University of Vermont. They moved in together and he got a job at a local 24 hours convenience store.Roleplay ExampleSee Devyn : DWhat About You?Name: Jack
