The BasicsName: Sasha Felicity Adams
Nicknames: Any nicknames
Age: 14
Orientation: Unsure
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Tactile Anesthesia -
Sasha can put other people to sleep by touching them. Specifically, she puts other people around her size to sleep if her lips touch their skin. Kissing on the lips is out, which she’s okay with for the moment; she’s fairly sure she’ll want to kiss someone romantically one day, but perhaps by then she’ll have control over her power. But she also can no longer give chaste cheek or forehead kisses to friends, and this makes her a bit sad.
Using her ability tends to make her lips numb, and if she forgets about it and, say, licks her fingers or uses her fingers to apply lip balm then she’ll put herself to sleep. Her power results in a lack of truly restful sleep; unless she accidentally uses her power on herself then it takes her a good half hour to an hour at least to fall asleep, and she wakes up at least four or five times per night after. Then she tosses and turns.

General Appearance: Sasha stands five feet and two and a half inches. That half an inch is very important to her, and she will remind anyone who forgets about it. She has a round face with a little snub nose which tends to give her an innocent appearance. This is compounded by her style of dress, which is generally very modest, mostly because that’s what her parents bought for her, and as she’s only fourteen she doesn’t exactly have a lot of money to go out and buy anything else. So she wears a lot of jeans and t-shirts, and long dresses with tights.
Her one nod to rebellion now that she is away from her parents is that on her very first day at Hammel she spent all the allowance money she had saved on a haircut. No more long, luscious locks for her! Now she sports a pixie cut, and this makes her feel as if she has a little more control in her life than she actually does.
Personality: Sasha is a quiet girl who doesn’t like to call a lot of attention to herself. It isn’t that she doesn’t want attention; she craves positive attention and validation from her father especially. But if she’s seen to be trying too hard that could backfire. She wants very badly for her father to think of her as Good, and so she does everything she thinks might please him. She enjoys her extracurriculars well enough, but she chose them based on what she thought would make him proud. She works hard at school because she wants him to be pleased with her efforts.
If she has a problem with someone she doesn’t confront them. She learned early on that defiance was best when done in secret. For instance, keeping in touch with a wayward brother against your father’s wishes. She wants both to maintain her relationship with Jesse and also to make her father proud, and the only way to do both is to do one of those things in secret.
She’s much better with written communication over verbal, and thus prefers to use text messages and email to socialize. It isn’t that she doesn’t want to spend face to face time with friends, or that she doesn’t enjoy herself when she does. It’s simply that it’s easier for her to maintain friendships if there’s a large writing component to keeping in touch in between hanging out.
She’s also a very organized young woman, which is perhaps no surprise when one considers that she’s an excellent student. Her class notes are color-coded, so that she can easily find them when she needs to study. She keeps a planner to keep track of her activities and appointments so that she’ll never miss one (unless she’s ill or can’t get a ride.) If she decides she’s going to do something she’s very committed and works hard at achieving success at it.Your VicesLikes:

Any Other Important People:Pets countHistorySasha is the youngest child and only daughter of Michael and Sarah Adams. Although her father was a respectable man with a respectable (and high-paying) job he also had a temper and drove his children hard. He physically abused his wife and his sons, although he at least left Sasha herself alone for the most part. Sasha grew up watching her parents fight, and her father yell and push around her older brothers. He never raised a hand towards her, but he didn’t show her any real affection, either.
There was no affection from Keith, either; he used up everything he had merely surviving. As their father continued to heap abuse on him he distanced himself from the family more and more.
But Jesse had time for her. He always had time for her, even when he didn’t have time for anyone else. He protected her and made her feel safe. But he was taken away because of his powers, and then she only had her mother.
They clung to one another, helped one another keep from falling apart. She told her mother more than she told anyone else, but that still wasn’t everything. It couldn’t be everything, because she was never entirely sure her father wouldn’t wrest secrets from her mother by force.
Her mother was proud of her, and encouraged her in her activities. Her mother was the one who made sure that the fees were paid, and that she was able to get there and back. When her mother couldn’t take her, she would arrange for the mother’s of one of the other girls to come pick Sasha up.
With Jesse gone, Keith took the brunt of the abuse from their father. He began staying out, avoiding coming home when he didn’t have to. He began drinking, hanging out with what her parents called “the wrong crowd” and what she knew were the only people who accepted him for what he was, or what he wanted to be.
When Keith finally left home there was a fragile peace. She knew her parents still fought; she could hear them while she was in bed at night, clutching her pillow to her face and pretending to sleep. But her father’s anger never turned onto her.
This didn’t make her feel better; instead she felt invisible.
She wondered what she could do to make her father love her. Despite the way he treated the rest of her family she couldn’t shake her need for him to smile at her. But he never did.
She had a few friends from school and from dance, although they did very little together outside of their activities. Sasha wasn’t sure if she minded or not. At least this way they wouldn’t know her failure.
Manifesting was a bittersweet affair. All the way on the other side of the country her father couldn’t stop her from seeing Jess, but he wouldn’t see how hard she was trying, either.
And she could see her chances of earning his affection slipping away as the clouds slipped past the plane she rode from Los Angeles to Pilot Ridge.Roleplay ExampleJosh has over three thousand posts, so I don't need to do this still, right? What About You?Name: Dryope
