Plot with Eric! (And Pika)

So! Eric! I'd love for Eric to have friends, enemies, awkward potential romances and all ideas are welcomed, but I also have some tentative ideas down below, if anybody thinks their characters will fit.    There'll also be a want ad up in the other forum!

As a little back-story, Eric is divorced with a cute daughter (age 8) and he's fighting a nasty custody battle with his wife over her. He's living on his own and has his daughter over a few times a week. (She hates strangers, though, so good luck getting in good with her.)

Although Eric's not shy per se, he's not uh... the BEST at snagging a date. But he is horribly lonely and you know, he can only stare at his projects and be at work for so many hours before he has to go home (to the aforementioned crippling loneliness). 

In an attempt to get out more, he's joined the GMC but he's also going out and attending various seminars and classes and sometimes he heads out to the bar for a drink. So friendships (or more) could happen at any of those places.

With regards to dating, maybe a snoopy busybody NPC co-worker could set him up with 'a friend!' 

I don't know if he has enemies aside from his ex-wife. I'm sure people find him annoying on occasion but he wouldn't really be out there shaking his fist in people's faces. LOL But a simmering office hatemance would be hilarious. Or just someone who takes exception to him that has to work with him in some capacity, and they can exchange forced pleasantries.

Hello, Pika! Another official welcome!

For the GMC, I just want to let you know that, IC, they don't call themselves this, as it's an OOC joke name/observation. That said, he's a member, which means that you and I need to plot.

I play only one character: Sean Neville. He's 58, the psychiatrist at Hammel, and a telepath who has lived in Pilot Ridge for nearly 26 years. He's very friendly and gentle, he likes to listen to people, and he loves children. He and Eric need to be friends.

Additionally, Dryope (whom you met in the C-box), plays his partner, Joshua Bernstein. Josh is 55 years old, and turning 56 in less than two weeks. He is non-powered like Eric, a civil rights attorney, and an unsuccessful two-time candidate for the town council, so he probably has met Eric a few times in the course of work/politics, in addition to friendship. He's also absurdly extroverted, and so Eric's shyness is not a detriment, since making eye contact with him in the grocery store is an invitation to conversation.

I have been authorized to propose group threads.

Additionally, I want to point you in the direction of additional plotting. Dryope has several other characters, including Chuck Miller who is vaguely in Eric's age range and also has a difficult ex-wife situation. Ellie, who you also met in the C-box, has Rhea Hartman, who is a couple of years younger than Eric. She is completely BAMF, a member of the police force and a volunteer firefighter.

Doro you've also met in the D-Box has Daniel Taylor, who is a 31-year-old non-powered creative writing teacher for Hammel, so I will send you her way.

Izy has Idalia Traveris, who is also 31 is a meteorologist for the local network, and also has weather prediction powers. Izy also plays Joe Honnick who is a the president of the anti-meta group PUSE and is a community activist, and so it's possible that he might have tried to recruit Eric entirely because he's non-powered.

Mads plays a number of characters in Eric's age range, including gay and bisexual men, so you should check her out.

1. Josh Bernstein is in the GMC XD so obviously we must have threads!

2. Sean suggested he go on a date with Chuck because my current thing with Chuck is sending him on terribad dates. Chuck is straight >.> so we would have to come up with a convoluted reason for them to go on a bad date. THAT SAID Chuck is currently on a date with Doro's character, Daniel Taylor, because Daniel's FATHER made an online personal for him and referred to him in it as "Dani" and Chuck was dumb and didn't double check he was looking at the gender he's interested in :c But maybe if we come up with a reason for Chuck and Eric to go on a date Chuck can give Eric Daniel's number

And Sean and Eric should be fraaands! I'm thinking that because of the custody battle, Flora might start acting out and so Eric could take her to Sean to see what he can do for her. Then Eric might start confiding in Sean and they can become friends!

As for Dry! Would it be terrible for the same thing to happen to Chuck again? (Sure, pick on the straight guy huh?) LOL Maybe Eric's NPC co-worker tries to set him up with Eric because she thinks Chuck is actually gay and in denial, and it wouldn't hurt to mash them together! And then yeah, Chuck can give Eric Daniel's number. lmao

Hello! I am Mads, as introduced so nicely by Sean. <3

And yes, I have a small collection, including two of the GMC members.

First is Damien. He is Canadian (because the token Canadian member needs a token Canadian character!) from Vancouver Island, is thirty.... uh. Thirty SOMETHING. XD Anyway. He is Joshua Bernstein's law clerk and is very sweet, loves kids, and is mostly shy with new people, but lovely in general. And has invisibility. And is currently dating Josef Muller, another member of the GMC.

Second is Robert Terrell aka Elsa. He is a cryokinetic surgeon who is married to his high school boyfriend and while he can be cranky he is also a great friend once he knows you.

Totally plausible! He's gay, Dry, he just doesn't know it yet!

There should just be a great big GMC meeting so all the people can meet the other people and Josef can bring Damien along! Haha! Eric will be the 'new guy' that gets passed around like a bad penny.

I have a very sweet university student that used to do a ton of babysitting when he attended Hammel, so there could exist some word of mouth recommendations. <3 Alex McKenzie is his name. He is tattooed, pierced, and probably the most polite and responsible guy you might ever meet.

I have been mulling this over. The terms of Sean's employment contract are such that he is barred from seeing patients outside of Hammel. However! That wouldn't prevent Eric from potentially seeking him out at first, because his name came up somewhere? Sean can point him in the direction of a practicing child psychologist in Pilot Ridge, but since they would have met, they can become friends that way?

Oh, yeah, Eric would go to him regardless. If Sean's been practicing for a while, he'd be regarded as quite an authority, wouldn't he? And plus they'd run in roughly the same circles with the GMC (or they will eventually) so they would still be able to form a friendship regardless of whether or not Sean can help Flora.
