The Details
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Any Piercings? None
Any Tattoos? None

General Appearance:
Dustin is five feet and five inches tall and a pretty average built boy for his age, he is slim and in decent athletic shape from years of playing soccer and running. His hair is dark brown and wavy, he likes to keep it somewhat short, but enough lenght to style it and make sure he looks good. His light skin usually has a slight tan from spending so much time outside and his eyes are dark brown.
His clothes are usually pretty casual, he sticks to colors like black, white and blue usually, wearing mostly t-shirts, hoodies and jeans. While his clothes aren’t the most expensive and stylish, he makes sure he looks good, as this is more important to him than he would like to admit.
Personality:
Dustin can come across as a either a bit cold or as shy at first to people who doesn’t know him. But if they give him a chance, he is actually pretty friendly and can easily make friends. His sense of humor can be a bit sarcastic and dry at times, he enjoys jokingly insulting banter between friends a lot.
He can be a very stubborn person, for better and for worse. If he wants something, he will work hard to get it, he is very determined to achieve his goals. Though, if something is uncomfortable and he doesn’t want to deal with it, he is good at avoiding it, ignoring it or putting it off for later, he isn’t good at dealing with issues. While he isn’t confrontational and would rather avoid conflict, he isn’t one to back down if he feels there is a need to fight or argue, he just picks his fights.
He cares a lot about how people see him and what they think of him, to the point where he is willing to lie about his background for people to see him the way he wants to be seen. He doesn’t want anyone to know how difficult life has been, growing up with a single mom without much money and then ending up in foster care, he wants people to see him as better than that. His biggest flaw is probably pride.
There can be an awkward and dorky side to him, but he tries to hide it, he wants to appear more confident and cool. If someone really gets to know him well and he feels he can trust them, he will open up more and relax and just be himself instead of the facade he puts up for the rest of the world.

History
Dustin was born in San Diego, California. His mother was barely 18 and alone in the world, she wasn’t close to her own family who lived across the country and she didn’t know who the father was, so she tried her best to provide for her kid, the problem was that she lived on a friend’s couch and didn’t have a job.
Growing up, he watched his mom try her best to get a job without much luck. Moving from place to place, sometimes to the apartment of a new boyfriend of hers. Things were unstable, moving around a lot and never spending more than a couple months in one place before they had to move on.
The only thing he always had which kept him happy was soccer after school with his friends from school, he was pretty good at it and it helped him forget his situation at home. It gave him a more positive outlook on life when he played, he felt like things might get better one day, his biggest dream soon became to become a professional soccer player one day.
His mother was struggling with a lot of things, to the point where she in the end decided to give him up, hoping he would get a better life without her. A very angry and confused Dustin ended up in foster care when he was 12, he never got a real explanation as to why his mom gave him up and while the new family was nice and even had a pretty nice house, he felt abandoned and hurt by his mom. He knew that things had never been great and that she had been dealing with more than he knew, but he just didn't understand how his mother could abandon him like that.
The next couple years were probably the best he had despite the abandonment and missing his mom, he could have the things he needed and wanted, he had a secure roof over his head and he enjoyed playing soccer on a team as a striker. The foster family was a very kind and loving family who did their best to make him feel welcome. He was happy for a while, but things changed when his powers revealed themselves in a blood test when he had recently turned 14, he was sad to move once again, he tried to convince his foster parents to let him stay but it was no longer up to them and he was sent away to the Hammel Institute.

Roleplay Example
Dustin let out a sigh, he was sitting in his room in his foster family’s house. The room was so big compared to what he ha been used to in the past, he never felt like he could get used to the idea that this was his room and now he never would, because soon it wouldn’t be his anymore.
Finding out that he was... Different had been a shock, he had never experienced anything with his power until after the blood sample revealed he had it, after that he had really tried, he had searched online to figure out how to activate it and soon he was phasing through things, though he didn’t practice much as it felt uncomfortable and it kind of hurt when he did it.
Moving away again, would he ever find a real home? The school would keep him until he was an adult he figured, but how could a school be a home? The others probably had somewhere to go back to for holidays, he didn’t think he would go back to his foster family for that. He really was alone in the world.
Rubbing his eyes and stretching out on the bed, he let out another deep sigh, life was unfair and it would always be unfair. He knew that if anything was going to go right for him, he would need to work for it and stop relying on anyone else, life was not fair, so he decided it was time to start making it his own fairness, a new start at the Hammel Institute where he would make his own luck and work hard to give himself a future.
