The Talk Down - Robbie tags RC/Estelle (Closed)

Once he was sure Evan and Levi were perfectly comfortable just sitting by themselves [their incessant pushing notwithstanding], Robbie scanned the hall and finally spotted a familiar face and grinned. "Okay, guys. Just have fun. Don't leave. Dance! Try it, Evan. You'll LIKE it." Robbie gave the boys two thumbs up before jogging over to Estelle and her date.

"Hiyuh," Robbie grinned at Estelle before his eyes coasted over to RC in a menacing fashion. Of course, the effect didn't work but he kept it up long enough before turning back to Estelle with a big grin. "Enjoying your night so far? You look pretty by the way. Doesn't she look pretty RC?"

“So did you come here last year, RC?” Estelle asked as they stood in line for pictures, fiddling with the skirt of her pink dress. She enjoyed dressing up for dances; every once and a while, she liked to feel pretty. “I did, but I went with a bunch of girls. But Ruth didn’t wanna go this year.” Estelle tried to keep the disappointment from her voice by smiling brightly, “So I’m really glad you asked me to come, I would have gone by myself and that would have been awkward.” She brushed her bangs to one side and bounced lightly in her little white slippers.

“So I was--” She was cut off by the sudden appearance of Robbie and his slightly menacing smile. Oh dear. Suddenly, the thought occurred to Estelle that she hadn’t actually told Robbie about RC. And how this could be easily misconstrued. “Hey Robbie.” Estelle grinned broadly, “Thanks, you look—Robbie!” Estelle whapped his arm lightly, “Don’t ask awkward questions, you big lump.”

She turned to RC with an apologetic grin, “This tactless goon is my best guy friend, Robbie. Robbie, this is RC. I’m not sure if you guys have met before, but whatever! Introductions anyways.” She gave Robbie a you-better-behave look hidden behind her smile. Though to be honest, she didn’t really expect Robbie to pay attention to it.

RC blinked stupidly and pointed to himself, chuckling a little bit. “M-me? Come to a dance stag? Are you nuts?!” He teased, shaking his head. “No way. I actually can’t dance.” He said sheepishly, looking down at his feet. “But I wanted you to have a good time.” RC added with a smile. Seeing Estelle having fun was almost making it worth the social embarrassment of being at the dance. “You deserve i….t?” He said, his compliment interrupted by a boy he only vaguely knew.

He didn’t look to pleased with him. RC straightened his shoulders, fidgeting under the unspoken threat. “I just got done telling her she--“ He was cut off with Estelle’s admonishment and introductions. It seemed that, as usual, RC was going to be kicked to the back burner on a conversation he knew nothing about. “Hey Robbie.” RC said tentatively, extending his hand for a handshake. He half expected the blonde boy not to take it. He really didn’t seem keen on RC being anywhere near Estelle.

Robbie hadn't expected Estelle to hit him in the arm, even if it barely registered as pain in his head. And her calling him a lump and a tactless goon would have made him laugh out loud but he was here with a point to make. It didn't help when the boy offered his hand to shake. He debated furiously with himself before grumbling and grabbing the offered hand and shook it gruffly.

"Hi, RC." Robbie said with a scowl. "I'm a weather manipulator, RC. What can you do, RC?" And without pausing to hear RC's reply, Robbie clamped a hand on RC's shoulder and looked him straight in the eye. "That's my sister you're going to dance with. You break any part of her body inside or out, I will do the same to you. You...catch my drift?" For awhile, Robbie just stared at RC before dropping his hand and giving him a huge smile. "Just so we're clear." He shrugged.

[Estelle Flores]

Estelle laughed at RC incredulity. “It’s okay, I can’t really dance either. I mean, sure, I can flail about expertly, but I hear tell that’s not actually considered dancing in most circles.” She grinned broadly, “But thanks for coming with me—” Aaand then Robbie started talking.

Estelle sighed loudly, smacking a hand against her forehead and letting it slide down her face, mindful of her light makeup. “Robbie. Robbie.” She waited for the weather manipulator to finish his tirade. “Robbie, focus. RC and I decided to go together, but we didn’t decide to go together. Okay?” She huffed an affectionately exasperated sigh before returning to RC. “I’m really sorry about him, RC. He doesn’t have that brain to mouth filter the rest of the world has.” She shook her head at the weather manipulator warningly. “And hopefully this means he’ll be nice now. Right, Robbie?”
