Cloudy on a sunny day {Robbie}

Avery decided to got the lake for the first time. She got dressed, thanks to her uncle who she just met her intire outfit was gucci (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=25668916) . Excitment feeled her eyes as she started to put her outfit on. Never had she dreamed she would wear Gucci, it was a designer Avery had admired for awhile. Putting on her coat she sighed. Then came the earrings and necklace. Those where not Gucci. Brushing out her hair she nodded to ehrself. She was now presentable. Out of her dorm and to the bus stop. Even though it was cold and the lake was probably frozen over, she knew she could use the fresh air.

Getting of the bus she smiled. The lake was beautiful. The water wasn't all the way frozen, but it was beautiful non the less. Avery decided to walk around the lake and look around. Her eyes wandered back and forth. From the trees that had some snow on them to the geese sitting on the ice. Wondering to herself if the geese could ever possibly get frozen to the lake. However, she shook the thought of her head. Seeing a bench close to the water Avery decided to sit down. Looking up at the sky she was glade to see that it was sunny. Looking at the trees she wondered why she didn't notice the snow was melting off the trees. Avery looked at the water washing in over the ice and washing out. The day was beautiful.

Having tired of Need for Speed on Xbox, Robbie decided to venture off campus. After having had a pretty decent time outside yesterday, he thought it would be nice to get out of the compound as well. So as always, with the most minimum clothing of a grey college hoodie that had belonged to his mother, jeans and sneakers, Robbie went out in the snow. He didn't really stop for anything since almost everyone were in their dorms.

Playing with the falling snow, making it multiply wherever he walked, Robbie was pretty stoked that his control over his powers were at least average. His powers trainer would be so proud. That is if he actually felt any emotion at all. He had the best poker face Robbie had ever seen on someone and that scared him. Just a little. Otherwise, his powers trainer was fun to poke fun at.

The journey to the lake wasn't that far and even in the blizzard he had created for himself, he found himself at the serene park where the lake was. The lake hadn't fully frozen over as Robbie saw patches of water still. He got rid of the blizzard before sliding across the ice on his sneakers. He avoided the water patches and where the ice was thin and out of nowhere he saw a girl on one of the benches.

He slid off the ice and jumped on to land and wondered why she was alone. Did her friends ditch her? The trees around her weren't as snowed into as the others around them and he wondered if it was probably because she was a meta. Could it be? Or was it coincidence? Robbie decided it couldn't be a coincidence. But it didn't hurt to ask. "Why are you alone? Did yours friends ditch you or something?" He asked bluntly, not one to spare any feelings.

Avery smiled as the obviously gorgeous boy approached her. What was it with Hammel and having all these great looking guys? No wondered Avery could never find one before. She looked at the boy as if he spoke a different language, then she realized he was talking to her. "Oh no. I needed to get out of my dorm. New clothes needed to be stretched and all." After realizing he slide over to her on ice her eyes widened "That awfully dangerous. You could fall in. What if the sun had melted that ice with in seconds?" Avery blushed hoping she didn't give herself away. The sun brightened slightly but she soon took a deep breath as it went back to the way it was. Avery didn't even notice that she was controlling the sun besides the blush.

All she knew was that she was enjoying the sun shine. Not really worried about her souroundings. Avery wondered if the boy was too from Hammle. "So are you from Hammel too?" She didn't really want to ask him what his ability was until she found out if he was from Hammel or not. If he wasn't she would be really embarassed, but if he was she wondered what his ability is. Maybe it was water control because he didn't seem scared skating across the ice. Avery held out her hand "I'm Avery by the way." Her smile stayed plastured to her face. She loved to meet people, new and old, friend or fo, well depending.

Not one to shy away from his powers, despite having some problems at home with it, the pretty blonde's question was met with a grin. "Then I'll make new ice." Robbie shrugged and looked up at the sunny sky. "I should be able to..." within seconds, the park was colder and even Robbie was freezing. Of course, it was kinda because he was only wearing a hoodie and nothing else inside but the weather was cold enough to freeze up the patches of water around the lake.

He then proceeded to let the sun shine as brightly as it possibly could without melting any ice. Her next question was met with a huge grin. "What do you think?" He plopped down beside her on the bench and turned to her when she introduced herself. "I'm Robbie. Are you from Hammel too?" He asked and without waiting for her answer, "What're your powers?" Yes, he was that big of an idiot to ask a complete stranger what their powers were. For all he knew, she was a meta-hating human.

But that didn't stop him of course.

Avery looked up at the sky then to Robbie. "Weather control. Do you control water?" She figured when he said he could make more ice that maybe her was a water manipulater like her Uncle Liam. "It is a pretty nice day out. The sun keeps me warm. It just feels so amazing." Avery scooted over and patted the spot next to her. "You can sit next to me and enjoy the sun too if you want." She put her hand back on her lap and looked out at the lake.

"I don't. I just control the weather. I make it colder, it freezes the water and it'll be ice. Pretty neat." He nodded and let the snow fall at it's intended speed. "I can vouch for that." He grinned when Avery mentioned the sun. "But I think I love the snow more. I always look forward to winter. It's my favourite season of all."

Robbie scooted closer to Avery. "So you just came here to enjoy the sun? Don't you like...get bored?" He asked. "Have you had your lunch yet? There's this stall just outside this park that sells fried mushrooms and stuff. It's pretty good."

avery perked up when he said he controlled the weather. "You mean your like me?!" Avery was excited. She had been hoping to meet a weather manipulater like herself. The whole time she felt alone. Even though Avery wouldn't admit it, she felt like a freak until now. For the first time since she arrived at Hammel she felt normal. "It really nice to meet someone who has the same ability as me." Avery's smile got bigger as he scooted closer to her.

She laughed "No I don't get bored. I enjoy the peace and quiet. Sometimes my emotions get to out of control and I find if I just relax and enjoy some sun that it helps." Avery looked at him when he asked her if she had lunch. Was he asking her out? Avery wasn't quite sure, but she went with it anyway. "No I haven't had lunch yet." Avery brushed some hair behind her ears.

Robbie smiled widely when Avery exclaimed that she had the same powers as him. "That's awesome! I've never met anyone with my powers as of yet. Not even adults. But I guess no one can be as cool as us." He joked. Of course, Robbie is by no means a snob and he could never take anything seriously. Not even his powers. So that meant a lot of jokes on his part.

"I hear ya. When I first got them, it was like...thunderstorms everywhere. Floods, blizzards. It was a mess." He shook his head, remembering how hard it had been for his powers trainer to control his anger at the time. But he got out pretty okay. At least that was what he thought anyway. He was no longer sullen or self-pitying to be sure.

"Good! Wanna get some? My treat. I'm always hungry. And when I say always, I mean it. You wanna?"

Avery nodded "I would love to get something to eat with you." Standing up she smiled. Her pink purse swinging at her side. The sun was shining brightly on her. Her happiness over flowing. The smile disappeared of her face as she started to speak. "When I got mine I um...well..my parents where having a fight. Its was about me agian, and well my dad he was well I made a tornado go threw our house." Avery looked at the ground with a sigh. "I guess you could say I'm still a little ashamed of my ability." Avery looked back at Bobbie and a smiled came back onto her face.

As her blonde hair blew in the breeze Avery took a deep breath of the crisp winter air. "So where is this place at again?" One thing about Avery was she tried not to let herself get down. She knew if she did something bad might happen.

Robbie jumped up from the bench and walked beside Avery to the stall he had talked about earlier. Her story was pretty sad but Robbie being Robbie didn't catch that. "You made a tornado? How cool is that? I got in trouble making lightning. Hammel found me like...a week afterwards." He chuckled.

Avery's question made Robbie point to the front of the park the lake was. "It's just a small stall so we can come back here to eat our food. So where were you from originally? I'm from Vermont but like...outside of Pilot Ridge. Like away," he pushed against the air to indicate how far his home was. "Are you going back for Christmas?"

For some reason Robbie made Avery feel better about the tornado. Maybe it was because he too was a weather controller. "See I well I don't really like it well I guess I do now but..Well when I first got here I just wanted to be normal..." Avery confessed her secret to Robbie. Why? She herself really didn't know.

"Well I'm originally from Iowa. " Avery looked up and then back at Robbie. "No. My um mother well she was I guess. Her and my father disowned me. Well my father disowned me way before my ability. My mother got a divorce and headed to Maine. She got pregnant and remarried. She sent me a letter telling me I have an uncle that she never told me about. I will be spending christmas with him. I have met him like twice. He is really nice and he has money. But he is now my legal guardian. He lives somewhere near Hammel." Looking at the food stall she smiled. "So are you headed home for the holidays?"

"Normal? Why do you wanna be normal when you can control the sun when it rains and make it rain when it's hot? I totally dig it." He shrugged, even though the part he didn't 'dig' was when his parents get annoyed with him when he uses his powers around his little siblings.

"Iowa...far away from home aren't ya?" He bumped his shoulder against the pretty girl's with a little grin. As she recanted her life history, Robbie thought that was kind of a lot for a girl so young to have gone through. All he had to go through was almost killing a guy and having his parents hate him. But she is pretty...

"I like uncles. They're fun and not like your parents." They finally arrived at the stall and Robbie ordered a stick of fried mushrooms, a sort of savory puff pastry and turned to Avery to asked what she wanted. He paid for their things and waited til they got them to start walking back to the bench again. "I'm trying to stay. My parents didn't call to come back so I might as well stay."

Avery got her breaded mushrooms too and some french fries. As she munched on ehr fries she laughed "Well, I guess you could say I wanted to be normal cause I felt bad for breaking my family apart. But I realized it was already broken." Avery smiled at Robbie as she ate a fry. "My Uncle Liam is pretty cool. He has a lot of money and he thinks of me like his daughter. When my mom sent her last note he took me shopping and I bought name brand gucci clothes...which I am wearing now." Avery did a little turn and smiled.

"So enough about me. I have been talking way to much. What about you? What grand are you in?" Avery just wanted to change the subject from her self. She hated to feel vein and like she was a queen bee.

Robbie returned Avery's pretty smile with one of his own. "You're quite lucky." He nodded and bit into his mushrooms. "And you look pretty good in them I have to say." Sure, he could have used a more refined word; spectacular, divine, gorgeous, beautiful, amazing...any number of them but he was a teenager and dense as he was, a teenage boy has to have some restraints. Lest Avery thought he was some big douche.

To be honest, Robbie liked to listen to people talk over him. He himself LOVED talking but that didn't mean he wanted to always dominate a conversation! He was thick, not a jerk quite yet. "Me? I'm in the I-don't-really-care grade. Don't tell anyone but I really don't know. I just go to classes. Try to understand what the teacher is saying, no mean feat lemme tell ya that. But I'm doing awesome in training. The only reason I haven't busted out of this place." Robbie laughed.

Avery took another bite of a fry and blushed slightly. "Thank you. I guess one could say I'm very into my clothes. I am very lucky to have an Uncle like Liam. He is very cool." Avery walked over to the bench and sat down. Crossing her legs she let out a small relaxed sigh. Her blonde hair shining in the sunlight as a new smile crept upon her face. Laughing at his comment, her smile only seemed to get bigger. After the laugh was over the smile returned.

Munching another fry Avery let out a huff. "Ok how about this how old are you? Cause I'm sixeteen and a sophmore." Avery for some reason really enjoyed talking to Robbie. It was one of the best conversations she would say, since she got to Hammel. ALthough it would probably have something to do with the fact that Robbie was also a weather controller. For some reason she had to admire that fact tha the really enjoyed his gift, where on the other hand hers scared her. Sometimes she even used her gift without realizing it and that inwardly errified her. Avery though wouldn't let anything like that show. She just loved to be happy and content. "How long have you been here at Hammel?"
