If Craven knew just how bad Gia sometimes felt when he bought her expensive presents, and gave her the extravagant gifts, he certainly never showed any signs of letting up. She knew he wanted to make her happy with them, and that it was how his father showed his love, showering money whenever he was away, but Gia felt uncomfortable with it sometimes. It was a bit of a reminder of just how far apart they were, even when they were close. She could never afford the jewels and spa days. And she'd have been just as happy to have him nearby cuddling with her as having him sending the gifts. The roses were beautiful though, and as odd as it was, she did love the gift from Jet. And she loved that Craven thought about her when he was out shopping. It was just difficult to feel like anything she gave him could ever match what he gave her.
She'd never say any of that though. And she wasn't expecting a gift today. She had nothing to give to him. She should have known it was a Valentine's Day thing to give one another a gift, but it had slipped her mind in the antics of getting ready for the dance, and finding a dress that would impress him. Besides, was it even right to buy a boy a gift using his credit card? Probably not. Still, she played with the ring on her finger, not noticing as the door opened and Craven walked in. It wasn't until he cleared his through that she looked up and smiled at him and then looked at the gifts he placed in her lap.
Water. The rose needed water. She leaned against his hand and smiled when he spoke. Punching gloves? What did that even mean? Gia blinked a few times in a bit of confusion before actually questioning the concern. "What? Punching gloves?" But he was pulling away and Gia moved to follow him, her hand delicately holding the rose. As if it might shatter at her fingertips and send the petals falling like in Beauty and the Beast. But he stopped her and motioned to open the box. Softly, she placed the flower next to her and opened the lid on the box and blinked in surprise at the contents. They were beautiful. And very Valentine-y. And expensive.
Speechlessly, Gia felt her mouth drop open and closed a couple times before she looked at Craven with wet eyes. "I don't know what to say Craven. Thank you. I-I didn't get you anything. Certainly nothing like this." What did she do to deserve such a generous boyfriend? She pulled the earrings out and fastened them to her own ears, and pulled out the necklace as well. "Help?" The rubies didn't match their outfits at all, but Gia did want Craven to know how thankful she was for them. She pulled her hair to the side to make the fastening easier before finally getting up and placing the rose in the small vase that still held the one from their date. "Ready to head downstairs?"
