Passing Judgment [Fifi]

Felicity had decided to do things a little differently this time. She and Lia had talked about having a meeting with the young Fiona Hart about tenancy in the small apartment above Lia's shop, but Felicity realized that having her wife making puppy eyes at her the whole time would be rather distracting. Couple that with the fact that the girl already had a record and Felicity started thinking that she didn't feel comfortable enough yet to invite the girl over to her house. What's to say that she wouldn't commit a repeat offense with no witnesses around to convict her?

Okay, so maybe Feli was overreacting. Still, she didn't want to be entirely rude or hostile to the young girl. Lia had seemed entirely convinced that she wasn't a bad person and Felicity truly wanted to believe her, but she had to be practical about this.

She found the paper that Fiona had filled out filed away in the upstairs office and gave the girl a call, nothing but polite as she set up a date for them to meet at a small cafe in town. A public place would most certainly be safer than in the privacy of her home. Felicity neglected to tell her wife what she had planned, but she didn't need the redhead pestering her until she could decide once and for all whether or not Fiona was truly a reformed young woman.

So there she was, sitting at a table in the center of the cafe, nursing a pumpkin spice latte and periodically checking her watch while she waiting for Miss Hart to arrive. She had brought a plate of iced sugar cookies as a sign of good will and hoped that Lia wasn't wrong.

Speaking of over reacting, Fifi had spent a good deal of time giving herself a pep-talk in front of her mirror. For no real reason, she was completely terrified of meeting with Felicity. Ophelia had been nice, really nice. But she had already admitted her wife had needed convincing! Fiona was filled with terror at the prospect of losing a shot at the apartment because of her record, of not being able to convince Felicity that she’d changed.

Finally it was time to go, and Fifi resolved herself that whatever happened would happen and she would have to just get the fuck over it. It didn’t really do much, but it helped her keep in mind that some people just couldn’t be impressed. She had to walk to the café and it was a bit of a trek, but her outfit kept her looking mostly put together. When she arrived, she looked around for a lady who matched Ophelia’s description of her wife.

She found the pretty blonde and smiled sheepishly, adjusting her messenger bag over her shoulder. “Hey! Um…Are you Mrs. Fitzgerald?” She ventured, though the cookies were a bit of a giveaway. She knew Felicity owned a bakery.
