Emmanuelle couldn't believe that it was already the first week of November. October had gone like a shot in the night, here one moment and gone the next and winter was only but a blink away. Halloween had passed too quickly for her liking. She enjoyed Halloween. It gave her an excuse to release her inner slut without any other girls being able to say a damn thing. Normally she dressed slutty, like the other girls and found herself at a party but this year she spend her holiday differently. She volunteered at the children's center and took day care kids trick or treating and dressed as a witch. She forgot how magical the holiday was as a child.
The cool wind blew on Emmy as she walked down the street, bundled up in her leather jacket and red knit scarf watching as town workers started to load onto the trees Christmas lights and decorations. She couldn't believe that they were already putting up the decorations. It used to be the day after Thanksgiving that they'd go up and she always thought that was a bit much. Now it was three weeks before the date and the tinsel was being unloaded and she could hear the faint sound of Christmas carols in the distance.
The holiday spirit only got worse as she got deeper into town. Store fronts had snowman's and she spotted a couple Santa's here and there. "This is ridiculous." She muttered as she reached the bakery. The display was a full winter wonderland. Gingerbread houses and lakes made of sugar with snowmen and ice skaters dancing about. "The leaves aren't even off the trees yet!" She found herself shouting. "Seriously?" She looked around for anyone who agreed with her. She was starting to get some strange looks. "Come on! Don't look at me like that! Halloween was Monday!"
