Thread Roulette: Emotional Shopping Bag

Hoshi Aoki's shopping bag splits while she's walking home. Luckily, Emmanuelle LaBeau and Izzy James are there to help her pick things up.

Rules: They must pass certain items around as they clear things up. Each item has an associated emotion, which they must express while they are holding the item.

Items: Bag of Snickers - Sadness
Package of pens - Fear
Apples (there are several of them)- Joy

Emmy smiled she she came out of the store. She had successfully found a Christmas gift for her most difficult sister, Marie, and it wasn't even Thanksgiving yet! She couldn't believe her luck especially considering she was normally scrambling for months to find something to suit Marie's taste and falling short. But not this year. This year she managed to find something that even the picky miss Marie would love. Or at least, Emmy hoped so. In her bag she had a beautiful hand made bracelet. It was made of beautiful stones, one from each continent and all strung together with a golden band.

Beaming Emmy exited the store prancing along like a proud little puppy. She spun in the sunlight humming to herself as she did so. Downtown was busy today and she was getting looks but she didn't care. She just smiled and continued on. There were several familiar faces as well. She could see Izzy up ahead and another girl who she recognized from around school. She was trotting along to catch up with Izzy when she was intercepted by a woman's bag breaking, spilling her things everywhere. "oh no!" Em said as she scurried over to help gather her things before they rolled away.

Hoshi had gone shopping she had gotten many things she normally wouldn't have, but her sister was coming over tonight and she figured she should cook something that would please her sister and would e different then normal. It was a nice sunny day and she smiled as the warm sun hit her face. She was sure her cat was curled up by the window sleeping right now. She smiled. It would have been nice to do that herself. She had just gotten checked out of the store when a young girl came running past.

Hoshi didn't have time to react. Instead she was almost knocked down and her bag split. Of all things why did her bag have to split? This never happened. It was an oddity for this to happen in the first place and it was even odder as the girl had run into her. Normally she was avoided by people whom she did not know. She obviously did not know this girl. Sighing she began to pick up the things, not sure what to do. As she picked up a package of pens she felt a bit of fear, fear that she wouldn't get home in time. She shivered at the thought, it was going to get darker soon and it was cold. She didn't know what she was going to do if she didn't get home in time.

[Izzy James]

Izzy hurried to catch up to the other two, jogging. He'd seen the bag beginning to split and had been starting to move forward. It seemed like the woman had bought groceries for several weeks, if the amount was any indication. At least a day's worth of food was rolling over the ground, and Izzy was already skidding to a stop, trying to pick it up while not getting in Emmanuelle's way.

"Are you okay?" he asked, sparing some time to look up at the woman who'd dropped the things. "There's nothing the matter or anything, is there?"

He reached for one of the items, picking it up without thinking about it. The moment his fingers touched the apple though, his mind went back to home. Where his mother could make the best apple pie ever, and apple cider was passed around for the holidays. Thoughts of Thanksgiving and Christmas and everything good and right in the world flooded into Izzy, and he smiled stupidly, sitting back on his heels.

"Isn't life wonderful?" he asked. He sighed, looking into the air. It was roughly the equivalent of being drunk, except Izzy's brain was a lot clearer. Which just meant that he would remember the words:

"Baby's good to me you know
she's happy as can be, you know
she said so.

I'm in love with her and
I feel fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!"
