The smell of tea was strong in the mans nose as he walked around the shop, fixing a few things that were awry. Some of the books had been put back on the shelf wrong, so he methodically reorganized them before going on to something else. The fountain was running well and there wasn't much to take care of except watering some of the plants, which he could do in a moment. His thoughts were more centered around how peaceful it was here.
Of course, that didn't last. He still had a dilemma. The need to hire some new help. He had managed for the last few months after his last employee had left for college halfway across the States. Still, while he could run the store all himself there were a few things where it would be nice to have someone else there. The Kitchen had been very quiet because he couldn't cook and take care of the greenhouse and shop all at the same time. Actually maybe it would be beneficial to hire more than one someone to help him. That way he could have someone at the register, the greenhouse and in the kitchen at the same time.
Basil set his tea down and got out the HIRING sign. It wasn't the normal black and orange, but instead it was black and green. In the section for information he wrote that he needed a few part time employees, and that if they were interested they should inquire inside. Once that was written in his neat calligraphic scrawl he went and hung it in the window. It was definitely eye catching, that was for sure. He stepped outside to view it from the store front window. Satisfied, he went back in, catching the sound of what was shattering china.
Basil made his way toward where he had left his cup of tea to find all three of his cats sitting on the counter there and looking innocent. His cup was on the floor, smashed into a million bits. The man smiled and rolled his eyes as he raised and eyebrow at them. Parsly was the oldest of them and he gave a sort of look at the newest additions, a young she cat[ and very fuzzy thing] named Rosemary. His other cat, Thyme [yes, as a joke all his cats had herb names] sniffed and mrowed. Basil sighed and began to clean up the mess, hoping to have it done before anyone came in.
