Edward barely saw what was going on around him as he made his way to Basil's shop. His lips were parted when every so often in the taxi only half managing the word 'town'. He had a month. A month left before he was back where he belonged. At John Hopkins. His credits were in and he'd been accepted as an attending at John Hopkins. He was about to get his dream job and have his dream carreer and all he could think about was leaving Basil in the dust. Of course he'd write all the time.
He'd fly down and come see Basil whenever he could. That would all happen but they'd be so far apart. There was a mixed set of emotions as Edward got out of the car, his acceptance letted in hand along with his degree. Honors. He'd graduated with honors. Despite his wayward lifestyle, Edward had worked very hard to get where he'd wanted to be. Edward closed his eyes, standing before Basil's shop.
How was he ever gonna do this? Tell Basil he was leaving...Three years. Three long years... Edward slowly lowered his eyes. If he didn't take this opportunity... and instead choose Basil, what would become of him? He'd have to work in this shop for the rest of his life. Edward's eyes slowly lifted to the little herb shop and he let a soft smile grace his lips. It wouldn't be so bad would it? Edward turned abruptly and slammed straight into someone walking the other way. Edward stumbled back slightly, paused for a second to asses the situation before jumping into action.
"Are you okay?"
His British twang came through as he reached out for the person to assess the damage he'd caused by daydreaming far too much.
