[Mercy Rose]

Mercy spoke quickly into her cell phone. Her sister was giggling on the other end of the line, she had gotten onto her school cheerleading team. She was about as excitable as Mercy, so when something like this happened the high-pitched squeals coming from the phone were capable of piercing the ears of any one with in a two feet radius. Even Mercy was starting to get a slight head ache as she sat down on the couch next to some one she didn’t know as her sister let out yet squeal that broke the sound barrier. Mercy smiled feeling happy for her sister.

“Ok, ok, Lilith I have to go, I’ll call you later ok? I’m really proud of you see you later.” She said into the phone. She smiled as her sister said good bye and hung up. She smiled apologetically at the guy sitting next to her. “sorry about that, my sister, she’s excited, just got onto her cheerleading team, something she’s wanted for a long time, and...well...you know how how young girls get.” she said with her trade mark huge smile spreading on her face. Her red hair flowed and she wore a white long sleeved shirt and a pink skirt.

Odion was still stuck living in this school. He could grumble all he wanted, but until he turned eighteen, he couldn’t live with Rhett. The ginger had been working on some math homework on the first floor when a girl chatting on her phone walked in, the person on the other line screaming. A glare was shot her way as she sat down. There seriously was no god damn place to sit in the school in peace, not even in the library, which he had been avoiding ever since running into Verill again. He looked out in front of him impatiently as louder screeching was heard in various tones, and Odi was just about ready to close his notebook when his fellow ginger was saying goodbye.

Smiling forcefully, Odion went back to his homework, ignoring the girl. Why was she still sitting there? Did people usually walk in on those doing homework to strike up conversation? If it wasn’t blatantly obvious that he needed some space, then maybe he needed to be a little meaner. “No, I don’t,” he said simply, tapping his pencil over the loose leaf paper he was staring at. The work itself wasn’t hard, but Odi was easily distracted, a side effect of his powers. He couldn’t very well work properly if someone was sitting there smiling at him. What was with these Americans?

He wasn’t interested in the younger looking girl. She had already been dubbed annoying and Odion wasn’t in the mood for learning more about those around him. Sometimes he could be charming, sometimes he was just an asshole. It was like an obscure draw really.

Mercy scowled confused at the tone of the boy’s voice. He sounded rude. It was really uncommon for people to be straight up rude to her, at least not right away. She tilted her head a little. She wondered how to precede. “Oh....well.....I’m sorry.” She said. “I’ll let you do math then I guess.” She said softly. Out of her own bag she pulled a note book and a pencil. She decided that the slow and steady pace would get her this guys friendship. Or at least get him to not hate her. She liked being liked, she liked friends.

Her pencil flew across the note book as she quietly played the waiting game. This game involved waiting till the guy asked what she was doing. It would happen eventually as every now and then she would glance up at him then down at the paper, continuing to sketch him. Only in her sketch he held a sword and was doing fierce battle with a fierce monster with three heads five arms wings and fur. It made her smile as she looked at it. She licked her finger and began to rub it on the paper to get the shading right.

If you asked Odi, she was the one being rude. Clearly he had been studying and clearly her phone conversation had been loud and obnoxious. What was his reaction supposed to be? Cheery and happy and full of sunshine? He wasn't exactly pleased to have this thought process barged in on, and he was pretty sure she wouldn't have appreciated the interruption if she were in his shoes. At least she recognized her transgressions. "Thank you," he said simply, going back to scribbling over his page. Once she was quiet, he could concentrate much easier, and it also helped that she was no longer looking at him.

He pretended not to notice her eyes traveling over to him every other second. Odion raised his eyebrows as he attempted to concentrate, finishing a simple problem to his consumer math question. Odion kept working as the girl drew, and by the time she was adding the final touches, he was at the final problem. Once it was solved, he glanced down at her paper only to notice that it was he who was looking back. It was both intriguing and very well down. He glanced up at the girl with his dark blue eyes, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

"Is that me?" He asked in his English accent, his mood brightening instantly. For one thing, she was drawing him, and she was good. Another thing was that he was done his math. Homework made him grumpy and a little rough around the edges. There was nothing like drawing a picture of someone to appease them though, it was a huge compliment and Odion took it as such. "You're quite the drawer," he commented, a man of few words. He was pretty sure they wouldn't be friends any time soon, but he could at least try and be nice to the girl drawing his portrait. Although he could never imagine himself fighting a dragon.

Mercy looked up and smiled. She liked being complimented. It made her all warm and snuggly feeling. She especially liked to be complimented on her art. She learned to draw when she was really young. It started with anime and manga drawings, fan art and that type of thing. But as she grew she started to become more and more into it. She started wanting to make her drawings more realistic and less cartoony. She drew all the time. She always had a sketch book on her and was constantly drawing the people around her. She could spend hours just on one thing, on trying to make it perfect.

“Thanks” She said happily. “Ya its you, you have a good face for this short of thing. A little prince looking, but not so much that it looks like a disney cliché.” She had a bubbly voice. She was so happy sounding it made you wonder if maybe her world WAS a disney cliché. “What about you? do you draw or have some short of hobby?”

Threw out this entire convo she didn’t stop tweaking the picture, adding better shadowing and that short of thing. She had a special obsession with his hair, hair was hard, every strand acted in a different way which made it increasingly difficult. At least he had short hair.

Odion wasn't good with a lot of things outside of stealing for his own benefit. He wasn't particularly talented or gifted in any one area unless stopping time could count, but he didn't think so. The ginger watched the girl with fascination, a small smile glued to his face. He wasn't good at art, he wasn't good with science or math, he was just good at keeping to himself and being quiet. There was nothing exciting about him really, despite what some people around here seemed to think about him. He was just taking one day at a time and seeing where to best lay his traps and seek out pawns.

Today would be an interesting day, Odion could feel that in his bones.

Him? A prince? He looked down at the drawing again. He simply couldn't see that quality in his roundish face. He was just a boy, and it startled him to be thinking such thoughts. He became lost in the strokes of her wrist and the way she brought the page to life with each line. Her voice snapped him back to reality, "Sort of," he said, "yours is much more beautiful." Odion wasn't trying to be a charmer, but often it appeared that way.

"I apologize for being rude before," he said, watching the drawing still, "I'm Odion." He was trying to be nice and offered the girl a smile instead of a hand to shake. She was obviously busy flattering him and showing off. "Do you often draw people you just meet?" He inquired, his dark blue eyes holding hers with intensity.
