Things had been going well, all things considered. Odion had finally gone about asking Lani to the dance in a way that made it clear they would go as friends. Otherwise, Odi wouldn’t have wanted to go at all. As it was, he was thinking he would make a ‘V for Vendetta’ costume, and had been obsessing over the costume’s details ever since he had the idea. It was going to be a masterpiece.
Taking a break from practicing his powers, Odion was really glad to have going into the future almost down to an art. It was almost as perfect as going into the past now. He needed to graduate this year. He had already passed all the required courses and had next to nothing to do with his time. Sometimes he sped through a few hours here and there, and then didn’t go back. He was already ahead of the game, why go back and live through wasting time? Sometimes Odion just wanted to get to the good parts, and other times, he was willing to wait and see how things played out. He didn’t like missing things, only the things that didn’t matter.
Today, he was in the library, not playing with his deck of cards. No, he was reading ‘1984’ with a smile on his face and a friendly air about him. Odion had promised himself and Lani that he was trying to do better, trying to see people differently and not just seek them out to piss them off so they stayed away in case of potential heartache on the ginger’s part. Today, that plan was going well. Odion didn’t want to think about his past failures.
Odion looked up as someone was being disruptive. Maybe they were lost, this was the library after all, and was meant to be a quiet place. His eyebrow twitched in annoyance upon spotting Chester Douglas. He was that Cameron Osiris’ best friend and that didn’t sit well with Odion. He didn’t move a muscle as he stared down the bloke who he didn’t know much about but already hated. The only thing stopping from saying anything for now was his promise. But something told him he didn’t need time control to know that promise was going to be broken in a matter of moments.
