“A Ferrari Enzo,” Odion teased, knowing that it had essentially the same make up as a Delorean, but he hadn’t said it to be truthful, he had said it to see Lani’s reaction. “A red one,” Oidon continued, as though this added bit of knowledge was crucial to the image of the car itself and it’s time travelling capabilities. A telltale smirk played on Odi’s lips. His taste in cars, much like everything else, would have to be worked for. While Lani might pick a Delorean, Odion would pick a differently classic car. It wasn’t very important information, and Odi wanted to see how long Lani’s curiosity would last.
Odion smiled as Lani mused. “You’d be off lost in time forever and I’d have to deal with those nasty headaches you always get.” It was something lighthearted that Odion didn’t have to say, he could’ve pointed out that he would be handling telekinesis much better than Lani could, but could he? Lani seemed to wander off in thought and Odion squeezed the blond’s hand, asking him to return. They really couldn’t switch powers on a whim, and it was silly to wonder what it would be like if their powers were reversed from the start. Lani shied away from him, and Odion was about to ask what was wrong when his head snapped towards the noise the laptop was making. Odion looked a little disappointed as Lani left but didn’t say or do anything other than sit there comfortably, nodding as Lani explained who was ‘calling’. The ginger watched the laptop curiously, wondering who Lani was answering a call from.
It didn’t take a genius to realize these were Lani’s parents. Just another thing Odion didn’t have and couldn’t relate to. Sometimes Odion forgot, but Lani was a normal man, and who was he to screw that up? Maybe Odion didn’t belong here with Lani. He wondered if his and Dec’s parents ever Skyped with Dec. Odion smiled to himself as he heard the greeting, he was going to hold this over Lani’s head forever. Odion lifted his hand in a makeshift wave, the nicest of smiles lighting up his features. Was it strange that they were together in relative darkness? Odi gave the same smile to Lani as the blond rolled his eyes. So that’s where he got his inquisitive nature from. Odion felt the tension emanate as soon as Lani’s father spoke. For some strange reason, Odi knew he didn’t like the man already. Maybe it was because of how he made Lani feel, or maybe it was his good intuition. The man left and Odion decided for the first time of his own free will, that Lani needed him.
“Yes, that’s right,” Odi said from his spot on the bed. Deciding he was being rude, he made his way over to the laptop, sort of half crouching on the floor so he could be at the same level as Lani, heavily leaning on the computer chair for support. There was barely any space between them now as Odion smiled on screen. “It’s nice to meet you as well,” he stated, hints of his accent coming through, “Lani’s only said good things about you, I hope the same can be said about me.” Odion smiled sweetly and his eyes looked lazily in Lani’s direction. This was payback, since he didn’t know how to have fun and whatnot. Honestly, Lani hadn’t said much about his parents or home life, but maybe that was about to change. This was a side of Lani that Odion hadn’t had the pleasure to see until now. Besides, how many other opportunities would he have to embarrass his b... friend, again.
